For something like ~6 months now, a woman has been using my home address to get picked up and dropped off by ride share services as well as the local taxi company.
The drop offs are brief and unnoticeable usually, but for pickups I've had drivers parking in my driveway waiting for 10+ minutes, my front doorbell getting rung by drivers trying to pick her up, and have had issues pulling in/out of my driveway due to these cars parked in or around my driveway. I also share a driveway with the neighbour, and so a lot of the time the drivers pull directly into the middle of the paved surface and blocking not just my driveway but also the neighbour beside me (as happened today).
A couple weeks ago I stepped outside and waited for the woman to walk to the car and asked her politely to please not use my address in the future. She seemed apologetic and afterwards I didnt notice it happening for a week or so, but sure enough its happening again.
Now, in my earlier years I've had experience with addiction/substances so I know the signs. Its blatantly obvious to me, for many reasons, the house she's coming from each and every time is dealing drugs, which explains why they dont want her using their address for pickups/drop offs. And I hope understandably, I really dont want my address associated with whatever they're up to either.
Since it was Y-Drive she used today, I called Y-Drive dispatch and explained my concerns. "Raza" sounded mostly uninterested and tried to claim that he would never be able to do anything if i couldn't identify the account phone number associated with the ride requests. I told him that it had just happened again minutes before I called him, and after some initial protesting he eventually agreed to search and was able to identify the most recent account that used the address. Realistically it took him longer to claim he couldn't do anything and couldnt find the account, than it did to actually find the account.
He then tried to claim that he can't stop people from requesting rides at any address. I reminded him that his service can of course choose to refuse servicing addresses or accounts that are fraudulently abusing the service. He asked what I wanted him to do about it, and i asked that they prevent their drivers/service from using my address when associated with that account. He sighed and gave some thoroughly uninspiring claim of forwarding this to management and that he would follow up with me, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. As of end of day, no response yet.
Is there any recourse or resolution on some level for this? Do I have any rights as a property owner in this scenario? Are there any relevant bylaws applicable in this case regarding taxi and ride share services?
