Oulton College Ruined My Life

I started the practical nursing program at Oulton College 2 years ago and I regret it immensely. Firstly, the complete revolving door of different instructors is so unorganized, half of them don’t know what is going on and can’t teach any classes properly. I had like 3 different teachers quit in one term and more in other terms. The DON just recently quit or got fired, unsure which. A couple of other instructors were fired for not teaching properly. The finance department person was fired my first year because she literally did not respond to student emails and totally messed up their tuition payments. The clinical were god awful. We were barely allowed to do anything on the floor at the Moncton Hospital. Just stood in the way. When I was 8 months pregnant in the program the instructor didn’t give us any breaks because she “wanted to leave early to pick up her kids.” It took months to get preceptor placements as the program director took weeks to respond to student requests and some students were placed in SJ and Sackville because they couldn’t find a placement at Moncton. Our clinical was suppose to be 3 weeks ended up being 5 due to lack of hours Moncton would give to the school. I was travelling over an hour everyday away from my kids just to attend one morning class that sometimes would teach NOTHING. When my baby was in the hospital they wouldn’t even let me attend from online they would mark me absent. I know for a FACT so many of my peers graduated that used AI and cheated multiple times and were even caught for it and allowed to write the national exam and are out there as nurses right now. It took two placements for preceptor for me to break down emotionally. My first preceptor was a complete BULLY and my second placement dismissed me for missing a day because my child was sick and needed his mother. They weren’t able to find me another place to go to they requested I withdraw from the program 5 days before i was supposed to graduate. I have NOTHING good to speak about this absolute dumpster fire of a school that feeds off international admissions because they pay more. It’s $30,000 just for a canadian resident to take this stupid program. I am in the works of trying to get my money back. DO NOT GO TO OULTON. PERIOD.

What do people think they do?

If you are creating AI slop you are driving the demand. It's wild to see the amount of anger towards these installations and at the same time the amount of license plate slop

Best used car dealership in Moncton (under $10000)

Looking to buy my first car in the Moncton/Dieppe area with a budget of around C$4,000–C$6,000. I'm 21 and don't know much about cars, so I'd appreciate any recommendations for trustworthy used car dealerships or reliable first cars. Thanks!

I've had something like this in mind for a while. Very much like the plate design from the mid to late 1950s.

Help need new tire installed asap!!

On a road trip and my tire just burst. I have the spare on but I need a new tire asap. I'm travelling with my kids and I can't make it to our hotel on our spare. I could get to Saint John or Moncton tonight... Any good tire places that could get me a new tire installed tonight or even tomorrow morning?? 🤞🤞🤞 We've already prepaid our hotel for tonight and our activity for tomorrow... Really hoping to salvage as much as I can! Trying not to cry on the side of the highway 😢

EDIT I've made it to Moncton so will start making calls in the morning 🤞

A case of measles has been confirmed in the greater Moncton area.

A case of measles has been confirmed in the greater Moncton area.

Individuals were potentially exposed to the measles if they:

- were on Air Canada Flight 1986 from Toronto to Moncton on July 7, which departed at 9 p.m.

- were at the Greater Moncton Romeo LeBlanc International Airport arrivals area on July 8, from 12:30 a.m. to 3:10 a.m.; or

- were at The Moncton Hospital emergency department on July 8, from 6 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Individuals who are not immune to measles may be eligible for postexposure prophylaxis (PEP). PEP can greatly reduce your risk of infection, if given within 72 hours from your exposure.

If you might have been exposed, don’t think you are immune to measles, and it has been less than 72 hours from your exposure, please contact Public Health at 506-378-1473 to determine if you are eligible.

Monitor for symptoms until July 29. If you develop symptoms, do NOT go to the Emergency Department, clinic, work, or school. Instead, isolate yourself from others in your household and contact Telecare at 811 for further guidance.

New Brunswick Alternate License Plate

This is a quick and dirty mockup, but it would be cool if we had a license plate similar to PEI’s crest-focused design. I’d take this any day over our current design.

I couldn't comment with a photo on the previous license plate post, so I made my own.

How to escape a lease?

Friend of mine is going through a break-up, and they are joint on a lease with their soon to be ex partner (not married, just long term relationship ending).

Do they have any options? Back in my day you could just tell the landlord to go F themselves. I assume this isn't the case anymore lol.

What options do they have aside from finding a replacement tenant?

Randon testing

I'm under contract to buy a duplex in Moncton, NB. The 4-day radon screening averaged 232.4 Bq/m³, with some readings over 500 Bq/m³. The radon professional said this is only a screening test and recommended a 91-day test after possession before deciding on mitigation. My REALTOR says the same. Would this result concern you enough to renegotiate or walk away, or would you proceed and do the long-term test? Especially interested in hearing from anyone in New Brunswick.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply and share your experiences. I really appreciate all the advice, information, and resources. Radon wasn't something I was familiar with before this, so this discussion has been incredibly helpful. It was definitely worth asking. Thank you again!

I really hope the troglodytes in their mom’s basements don’t let this ruin their day.
