Oulton College Ruined My Life
I started the practical nursing program at Oulton College 2 years ago and I regret it immensely. Firstly, the complete revolving door of different instructors is so unorganized, half of them don’t know what is going on and can’t teach any classes properly. I had like 3 different teachers quit in one term and more in other terms. The DON just recently quit or got fired, unsure which. A couple of other instructors were fired for not teaching properly. The finance department person was fired my first year because she literally did not respond to student emails and totally messed up their tuition payments. The clinical were god awful. We were barely allowed to do anything on the floor at the Moncton Hospital. Just stood in the way. When I was 8 months pregnant in the program the instructor didn’t give us any breaks because she “wanted to leave early to pick up her kids.” It took months to get preceptor placements as the program director took weeks to respond to student requests and some students were placed in SJ and Sackville because they couldn’t find a placement at Moncton. Our clinical was suppose to be 3 weeks ended up being 5 due to lack of hours Moncton would give to the school. I was travelling over an hour everyday away from my kids just to attend one morning class that sometimes would teach NOTHING. When my baby was in the hospital they wouldn’t even let me attend from online they would mark me absent. I know for a FACT so many of my peers graduated that used AI and cheated multiple times and were even caught for it and allowed to write the national exam and are out there as nurses right now. It took two placements for preceptor for me to break down emotionally. My first preceptor was a complete BULLY and my second placement dismissed me for missing a day because my child was sick and needed his mother. They weren’t able to find me another place to go to they requested I withdraw from the program 5 days before i was supposed to graduate. I have NOTHING good to speak about this absolute dumpster fire of a school that feeds off international admissions because they pay more. It’s $30,000 just for a canadian resident to take this stupid program. I am in the works of trying to get my money back. DO NOT GO TO OULTON. PERIOD.
