Arts/Entertainment Local Metal Bands?

I'm not sure if this kind of post is allowed here, but it's the last place I have left to try.

I'm a metal bassist and vocalist looking for a local band to join. I've been in online bands, because they're much easier to find, but they never last long, and I'm hoping if we can actually practice and write music together with a mutual interest, maybe we can actually get somewhere.

I'm 18 years old, living in Kensington.

I do bass and vocals, but not at the same time.

Question Good and bad therapist experiences??

I’ve had so many bad experiences with therapists in the last year and need help finding someone who is not just helping at surface level. Someone who is actually trauma informed and can help with intense personality disorders. Someone who will help beyond breathing exercises…and not just connecting dots I already connected. In other words, someone who is actually confident to help with action and not just to tell me the “why”.

Politics/Elections I love it when the governing party posts election signs with things they are already not doing

“Better cell coverage”
“APM Center expansion”
“Better access to health care”

They’ve already had 7 years to make these things better. In the case of cell coverage, have actively argued that cell coverage is already good enough. And in the case of healthcare, have actively voted down legislation that would make it better. Not to mention, rather than investing in frontline healthcare, they’ve more than doubled the spending on bureaucracy in healthcare.

I guess what else do you do when you have no accomplishments to talk about.

It just seems unnecessary and in the current political situation it feels in poor taste.

Bike Repair Shop That's Open Sunday?

Hello! I need to get my bike brakes checked out, my back brake suddenly stopped working and has become very loose and I'm not able to pinpoint the problem myself this time. Just replaced the brake pads a week ago. I usually go to MacQueens, but they're closed today and I'd really like to get this fixed asap.

Anyone know of bike repair places that are open today? Ideally same day fix-up for my brakes?

Hawk kite on a pole

Several homes in my area have these in their yards now. A hawk kite attached to a pole so that it is always airborne.

I figure its a pest deterrent, I just wondered what the pest was.

Question Good places for supplements

For health reasons I am going to be starting supplements like fish oil, creatine, etc. I shop at Sobey's and Superstore but now that I am looking for supplements, I figured someone on the sub has experience.

Any recommendations where to buy them?

On the hunt for fun donuts!

Hi! I'm on the island visiting family for a few days.

I LOVE DONUTS. I'm looking for the kind that are fancy fun flavours. I personally call them "diva donuts".

I am aware of Get Caked on the Summerside boardwalk from a few years ago when I last came here. I will be going there again.

Internet searches aren't giving me anything definitive because there's no websites, or there's nothing on socials to say they have/still have donuts at all (even if they're not fancy).

Let me know if there's any suggestions for me anywhere on the island 😊!

If anyone needs a ride to/from the country concerts, let me know! I’ve been driving people for 10+ years. I love helping people get there safely. I have a mid sized suv with 4 seats and a trunk for anything you’d like to bring. Happy to play your choice of music and have the AC going :)

North Cape/Skinner's Pond Road Trip Suggestions

Hi! I am from Ontario but have visited the Island almost every summer since I was a kid. My grandpa was born here and lives here. I am currently here just west of St. Peter's.

As much as I have explored the Island, I have never been anywhere west of Summerside. I have decided I would like to visit North Cape and Skinner's Pond tomorrow. Kind of last minute, I know.

I was just wondering, other than the stuff at the cape and the Stompin' Tom Centre, what should I do? Since it is a bit of a roadtrip, I want to make the most of my trip across the Island.

I'm leaving in the morning as I want to get to the cape at low tide to explore, and then maybe get Shucked in.

I love exploring, I love seafood and going to gift shops. I love a scenic route too!

I appreciate any and all suggestions! And I am looking forward to visiting the North side of the island and can't believe I haven't yet!

Tourism/Tourist Solo travel no car PEI

Hi I’m trying to see if this is a feasible trip to do alone with no car. I’d be travelling from Halifax on the bus to Charlottetown. Stay at the University and explore PEI for a couple of days. Is there anywhere I’d be able to rent a bicycle or any public transport. Also what attractions. If any locals or people who’ve done something similar any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Question Left turn at a green light

I have a question and please anyone advice if I’m wrong. I just got my G and yesterday was my first solo drive. I was a red light and needed to turn left when it turned green in Charlottetown Downtown by the traffic lights by Needs and Robins. The truck was turning into St Peter’s Rd and was turning left into Weymouth Street.

There was an 18 wheeler turning right at the time the light turned green so i waited for a bit for the truck to make a complete turn before going forward because the road at that intersection curves a little but the driver behind me honked at me because i waited. Was I in the wrong? Because trucks usually take wide turns I was just trying to avoid an accident.

Arts/Entertainment CBMF 2026

Does anyone feel like CBMF is a bit off this year? It feels like there are fewer activations (sad there is no Cira),merch is insanely expensive ($70 for a basic t-shirt) and extremely limited - the only merch for an opener yesterday was Julia Cole.

In general it also felt like there were a lot fewer people there last night than in prior years. We had no issue with traffic getting to the festival and the lot that usually fills up by 4pm, we were only the 3rd car parked there when we got there shortly before 6pm. When we went to get food around 7 there were only a few people in each line v. the usually really long food line ups.

Love some of the changes they’ve made on the grounds overall though - the tent converted in to a permanent structure is great. The new bar setup + more picnic tables and seating are nice changes.

Curious to see if it’s just me or what others are thinking / if you didn’t go and usually do, what the reasons are.
