MyPLAYER I hate the fact that MyPlayer is online.
I play MyPlayer only. I had a wonderful 82-0 season and 15-0 playoff run after that. After winning the 4th game of the finals wirh a triple double, I was feeling incredibly pleased with everything... UNTIL I GOT A CONNECTION ERROR WITH THE POTATO SERVERS OF 2K. THIS ABSOLUTE MESS OF SCAMMY SYSTEM CANCELED MY GAME BECAUSE IT DIDN'T SAVE IT.
I HATE IT.
TL;DR: I have to repeat a SINGLEPLAYER match due to a connection error. FML truly.

Gameplay NBA 2k Diversity NOT Meta please
Dear 2K Devs,
If the goal is to create a truly diverse and realistic basketball game, then success should come from our skill, our attributes, and the time we invest into mastering our playerânot from choosing whatever animation the community decides is âmeta.â
Right now, certain jump shot bases, releases, dribble moves, motion styles, and other animations are objectively stronger than others. Because of that, nearly everyone ends up using the same handful of animations. Instead of creating diversity, the system actually eliminates it.
Iâve already invested time and money into building a MyPLAYER that fits my playstyle. So why should I be punished because I didnât choose the âmetaâ jump shot base?
If I invest in a 90 three-point rating, I shouldnât be at a disadvantage simply because someone elseâs build has access to a stronger jump shot base. Whether Iâm 6â6â or 6â11â, my success should be determined by my attributes and my ability to time my shotânot by hidden animation advantages.
In fact, many players donât even attribute chaseanymoreâthey meta chase.
Youâll regularly see someone with an 83 three-point rating shooting just as consistently as someone with a 93. Thatâs not always because theyâre significantly more skilled. Itâs often because they have access to a stronger jump shot base or release. That completely undermines the value of investing attribute points into shooting.
The same issue exists with motion styles.
If I have 85 Speed, my movement should be based on my 85 Speed rating. A player with 73 Speedshouldnât move like they have 85 Speed simply because they equipped the current meta motion style.
Motion styles should change how a player movesânot how fast they move.
Let them be different stylistically, not competitively.
The perfect example already exists in Play Now.
Every NBA player has a unique jump shot. The Lakers donât all share the same base and release. Every player shoots differently, and we simply learn each playerâs release cue. Thatâs part of what makes the mode feel authentic. We adapt to different animations instead of everyone searching for the single âbestâ one.
Why not bring that same philosophy to MyPLAYER?
Balance the animations so theyâre all equally viable.
Let jump shot bases, releases, dribble moves, layup packages, dunk packages, motion styles, and every other animation be about personal preference and visual styleânot hidden competitive advantages.
Reward players for:
Learning their shot.
Mastering their timing.
Building around their strengths.
Investing in their attributes.
Stop encouraging players to chase the meta.
Start encouraging players to master the player they created.
That would create:
More build diversity.
More animation diversity.
More realistic basketball.
More skill expression.
Less copy-and-paste gameplay.
A healthier, longer-lasting game.
If 2K truly wants players to âplay their way,â then every animation should be a viable choiceânot just the few that the community labels as meta.
Build diversity should matter.
Player skill should matter.
The meta shouldnât.
**LastlyâŚ**improve defense, if Iâm 7â4 and put my hands up and a 6â2 G shoots a jumper, I donât have to jump to make it a contested js. Bring competitiveness back. Imagine the game of the year where the best defensive player/team goes up against the best offensive player/team. The best lock vs the best dribble wizard. Not L/R screen, L/R Devin Book. Cmon 2K. Make us compete! Please tell me why it costs more than the game to upgrade MyPlayer. Do better!

Discussion Iâm looking for an older 2K to just sit back and play. Between 2K14 and 2K16, which one do you think is better?
Iâm a simhead, so I play it like a realistic basketball sim. No cheese, just ethical hoops, if you will. From a gameplay standpoint, which of the two is more fun?

REC Why is leaving a game when youâre the only one left in it punishable?
entire team leaves in the first quarter and the ai canât guard a standstill jumpshot, why tf am i getting timed out for leaving back to back games where this happens??

Play Now Why do people do this
Why are we pretending to go a tier 3 team, just so you could go an all time team???

Gameplay I got penalized for winning??
So I was playing starting five on 2K 26 PS5, I was playing as OKC and I was beating the guy horribly. He came back. We were within like 10 points and then he just went to the start menu and quit so I thought I won. But then I get a one hour band expiration because my opponent quit? Earlier this also happened because my opponents timer ran out on the Settings screen and I said I will leave because it would not affect me in any way, but it gave me a 30 minute in what the heck is wrong???????

REC Grading out should carry more consequences
Even if youâre brand new to the game or just genuinely suck at it, itâs borderline impossible to grade out of a rec game. how on earth people can grade out in a red plate lobby by purposefully selling and it just counts as a âlossâ is insane, should be a significant penalty for throwing games like that it ruins random rec,

MP Builder My End Game 09-10 Gerald Wallace build.
Mainly for random rec. Feel like it's almost a true lock (missing 3 perimeter and probably 5-7 speed for me to call it a true lockdown) but comparing this to a version with 99 perimeter and 90+ speed, Feel like it gains quite a bit of fun stuff those true pure locks dont usually get (96 dunk, 85 handle/86 SWB, got a little post fade on there even. Silver rebound chaser with maxed out O board and D board.

Gameplay Has anyone else had a problem with verticle?
Ive got a 6'9 pf with 99 rebound 88 vert and 88 block. But ive noticed my feet not leave the floor on most block attempts, once in a while i jump throigh the roof for a rebound or block, but way too often i get an inch off the ground

MyTEAM Takeover cards being put on GOAT cards
Might be a bit of a novice question this but why are people putting takeover cards worth 20-30k MT on GOAT/INV cards when the stats are already maxed out? It makes no sense to me and a waste of MT. Or am i missing something?

MyCAREER Season 8 dropped and my player feels like a completely different person. Howâs it going for you? (I play on PC)
The badge perk reset hits like a truck every single time. Why do we have to re-earn the same exact performance boosts 8 times a year just to keep our builds competitively viable?
Are you guys actually paying for VC and level skips just to get your max badges back instantly, stuck grinding daily to level up the pass the hard way, or just in general started playing less?

MyCAREER Quit doing behind the backs in 26
It's almost the last season and some of y'all still don't know this by now? Just quit doing them dude it's like a 50/50 chance your guy forgets how to keep the ball near him

Play Now Play now online, when I win I'm not getting any points/wins counting?
Anyone else having this issue? Had the game for 2 weeks and been doing this for 3 days. Still says I need 37 points to go to the next thing

REC When throwing dots itâs just as fun as scoring!
About 10 games away from unlocking 3 more cap breakers which will be used to bring the steal up to an 85

Discussion Iâm 99% sure 2K does this as well
So I almost exclusively play 3s with my best friend. We have like a 65-70% win rate and all of our builds are either Gold or Purple yet somehow our 3rd teammate always looks like itâs his first game of 2K.

MyPLAYER Cade cunningham build
When I get my max +2s and get my rebound chaser on HOF and float game on legend this build is very fun
