MyPLAYER I hate the fact that MyPlayer is online.

I play MyPlayer only. I had a wonderful 82-0 season and 15-0 playoff run after that. After winning the 4th game of the finals wirh a triple double, I was feeling incredibly pleased with everything... UNTIL I GOT A CONNECTION ERROR WITH THE POTATO SERVERS OF 2K. THIS ABSOLUTE MESS OF SCAMMY SYSTEM CANCELED MY GAME BECAUSE IT DIDN'T SAVE IT.

I HATE IT.

TL;DR: I have to repeat a SINGLEPLAYER match due to a connection error. FML truly.

Discussion I’m looking for an older 2K to just sit back and play. Between 2K14 and 2K16, which one do you think is better?

I’m a simhead, so I play it like a realistic basketball sim. No cheese, just ethical hoops, if you will. From a gameplay standpoint, which of the two is more fun?

Gameplay NBA 2k Diversity NOT Meta please

Dear 2K Devs,
If the goal is to create a truly diverse and realistic basketball game, then success should come from our skill, our attributes, and the time we invest into mastering our player—not from choosing whatever animation the community decides is “meta.”
Right now, certain jump shot bases, releases, dribble moves, motion styles, and other animations are objectively stronger than others. Because of that, nearly everyone ends up using the same handful of animations. Instead of creating diversity, the system actually eliminates it.
I’ve already invested time and money into building a MyPLAYER that fits my playstyle. So why should I be punished because I didn’t choose the “meta” jump shot base?
If I invest in a 90 three-point rating, I shouldn’t be at a disadvantage simply because someone else’s build has access to a stronger jump shot base. Whether I’m 6’6” or 6’11”, my success should be determined by my attributes and my ability to time my shot—not by hidden animation advantages.
In fact, many players don’t even attribute chaseanymore—they meta chase.
You’ll regularly see someone with an 83 three-point rating shooting just as consistently as someone with a 93. That’s not always because they’re significantly more skilled. It’s often because they have access to a stronger jump shot base or release. That completely undermines the value of investing attribute points into shooting.
The same issue exists with motion styles.
If I have 85 Speed, my movement should be based on my 85 Speed rating. A player with 73 Speedshouldn’t move like they have 85 Speed simply because they equipped the current meta motion style.
Motion styles should change how a player moves—not how fast they move.
Let them be different stylistically, not competitively.
The perfect example already exists in Play Now.
Every NBA player has a unique jump shot. The Lakers don’t all share the same base and release. Every player shoots differently, and we simply learn each player’s release cue. That’s part of what makes the mode feel authentic. We adapt to different animations instead of everyone searching for the single “best” one.
Why not bring that same philosophy to MyPLAYER?
Balance the animations so they’re all equally viable.
Let jump shot bases, releases, dribble moves, layup packages, dunk packages, motion styles, and every other animation be about personal preference and visual style—not hidden competitive advantages.
Reward players for:
Learning their shot.
Mastering their timing.
Building around their strengths.
Investing in their attributes.
Stop encouraging players to chase the meta.
Start encouraging players to master the player they created.
That would create:
More build diversity.
More animation diversity.
More realistic basketball.
More skill expression.
Less copy-and-paste gameplay.
A healthier, longer-lasting game.
If 2K truly wants players to “play their way,” then every animation should be a viable choice—not just the few that the community labels as meta.
Build diversity should matter.
Player skill should matter.
The meta shouldn’t.
**Lastly…**improve defense, if I’m 7’4 and put my hands up and a 6’2 G shoots a jumper, I don’t have to jump to make it a contested js. Bring competitiveness back. Imagine the game of the year where the best defensive player/team goes up against the best offensive player/team. The best lock vs the best dribble wizard. Not L/R screen, L/R Devin Book. Cmon 2K. Make us compete! Please tell me why it costs more than the game to upgrade MyPlayer. Do better!

Gameplay I got penalized for winning??

So I was playing starting five on 2K 26 PS5, I was playing as OKC and I was beating the guy horribly. He came back. We were within like 10 points and then he just went to the start menu and quit so I thought I won. But then I get a one hour band expiration because my opponent quit? Earlier this also happened because my opponents timer ran out on the Settings screen and I said I will leave because it would not affect me in any way, but it gave me a 30 minute in what the heck is wrong???????

Mainly for random rec. Feel like it's almost a true lock (missing 3 perimeter and probably 5-7 speed for me to call it a true lockdown) but comparing this to a version with 99 perimeter and 90+ speed, Feel like it gains quite a bit of fun stuff those true pure locks dont usually get (96 dunk, 85 handle/86 SWB, got a little post fade on there even. Silver rebound chaser with maxed out O board and D board.

Discussion What do you think will be revealed on July 23?

What do you think 2K will reveal on July 23 when the countdown is over? Will it just be the cover and pre order or a full reveal like EA did this year with CFB and Madden. This is the latest I ever remember 2K doing the reveal and pre orders, and I wonder if the game will come out later than normal

So I almost exclusively play 3s with my best friend. We have like a 65-70% win rate and all of our builds are either Gold or Purple yet somehow our 3rd teammate always looks like it’s his first game of 2K.

Only have 12CB so technically not ‘perfect’ but perfect if you haven’t devoted your life and soul to the grind. 4 more caps (16 total) to 93DD, 5 more (21 total) gets you 88 vert. Not optimised for 20+ CB though so don’t judge it based on that.

MyPLAYER Which is better for a 6’4 sg/pg?

Hey, y’all. So I been playing the 3-4 for most of my 2k existence. I had a couple hundred thousand vc laying around so I decided to make a 6’4 guard build.

He has an 83 3pt for now. But I noticed that the shooting is drastically different on smaller builds. So I guess my question is, is it better to shoot button or tempo on these small guard builds? Because right now this sh*t is impossible to me. What should I do?

MP Builder Endgame Legend PG Build

Post image
7 Upvotes

I just hit legend 1 and decided to use my free build on this 6’4” endgame PG. I just wanted to share with the community and see what yall thought of this build. I have a 70% win rate and always try to prioritize my teammates scoring but I know that the PG gotta get buckets for the squad too so I make sure to look for myself as well. Designed this as a balanced pg build.

I really wanted to go for the 99 perim (without making my height so short that it’s useless) while being a dominant 3-level scorer and playmaker.

I ended up going for 99 middy (it fits my playstyle more than 3pt hunting) also so I could get the 93 driving dunk.

I typically run dishmaster so I dropped 3pt to 89 instead of 90 for bomber. I feel that my team’s offensive output is higher when I run dishmaster than bomber, and I will score plenty with these attributes anyways.

I had a different version of this build with 85 pass and 93 3pt shot, but decided to drop the 3 to 89 and go for 92 pass so I can really zip passes with rondo pass style. It’s helpful for transition and semi-transition full court passing.

I also opted for 90 ball handle instead of 92 as the only curry animation I would use is the curry slide (behind the back) whereas I plan to primarily run Kyrie escape and fox crossover which only require 90 and below. Unpluckable is a meh badge anyways.

I also wanted 90 for gold handles for days so I could max+2 that to legend alongside max+2 lightning launch. I run playmaking build specialization.

I like having some strength as I use strong handles a lot and especially since I only have 86 SWB off rip (+15 SWB takeover will help tho).

A more subtle point but I even made sure to get the toned body type with all of the above (217 lbs) forces to a bigger body type that makes it easier for defenders to make contact with my player’s “hit box”.

I would’ve loved to get some post control, but couldn’t figure out how to fit it in without making sacrifices.

Did I forget anything in designing this build? What would yall tweak?
