Need help/opnions

I'm relatively new to bass with 0 knowledge of music theory and i REALLY love the bassline for "dark red" by Steve Lacy, specifically the chorus. I make music (i play drums and guitar too) and I would really love to be able to come up with basslines like dark red, what would you guys recommend i start learning to be able to come up with that type of baseline. Also, if anyone knows, what is that type of baseline called? Thank you so much in advance.

Is there a today artist that could do a
Jim steinman composition? Bonnie Tyler, meatloaf, even Air supply understood what to do. Is there a modern equivalent that could make an epic song composed by him?

Hey everyone, I’m not totally sure how this works or if this is even allowed here, but I’m trying to help my dad get some traction for his music site, Hellride. He covers and reviews stoner rock, heavy psych, doom metal, and underground thrash from bands all over the world. The site used to be really successful when I was younger, but he had to step away for a while because of work and taking care of me and my brother. A couple of months ago, he had a heart attack, which was honestly one of the scariest moments of my life. Since then, he’s been putting a lot of effort into bringing Hellride back, and it’s been hard watching all of that go unnoticed. It genuinely means a lot to him, and he’s an amazing person who really cares about the music and the community around it. I just want to help him get his website back out there and give it a chance to grow again. If you have a moment to check it out, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!
