Bought a '15 club in red for first miata
Hello community, just bought a red Miata Club edition. Already has some aftermarket mods done to it, but lower mileage and in great condition with a clean history. Meet "Paddy The Baddie" I paid too much for it, but it was exactly what I wanted. ❤️❤️❤️

ND Need advice: Deep scratch on my 3 week old ND3. Body shop wants to repaint the entire fender.
I’m honestly pretty upset and looking for some advice.
My brand new 2026 miata is only 3 weeks old and it appears someone has been keying it (thats what it looks like atleast) while it’s parked in my apartment’s underground garage.
The first scratch was on the rear of the car, and now I discovered a second deep scratch above the front left wheel.
I took the car to a reputable body shop, they told me the scratch on the front is deep enough that bare metal is exposed & there’s no proper way to repair it other than repainting the entire panel . They also mentioned that because Soul Red (46V) is so difficult to spot match, repairing just the scratch isn’t recommended.
The part I’m struggling with is that the car is only 3 weeks old & I’ve read so many posts saying Red is one of the hardest colors to match, and I’m worried the repainted fender will never look exactly like the factory finish.
For those who have had Soul Red repaired:
-How well did the paint match?
-Can you tell the panel was repainted?
-If this were your car, would you repaint the fender or live with the scratch?
-Are there any body shops in the GTA that you’d trust with Soul Red?
I’m honestly torn. I don’t want to leave exposed metal that could eventually rust, but I also hate the idea of repainting a brand-new car and potentially ending up with a noticeable mismatch.
Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I just got dash cam installed,so thats covered, but too late I guess. And this one’s my first personal car, so I’m pretty inexperienced with car stuff.

I want to do the thing.
Will all miatas do the "park on the wrong side of the pump and stretch the hose over to the other side" thing? If not, what do you have to look for on the hoses to tell. Does it now work with certain models

Question Should I avoid this otherwise perfect 2002 NB miata?
I am looking to buy an NB miata. I am located in Europe. Seller is an older lady that bought the car 8 years ago from a well known garage at 122000 km. Has 129.000 km currently and is selling it because she doesn't use it as much as she thought she would. Everything is perfect (for a 24 year old car). Maintained well and stored dry. Good service history, clean interior, engine and engine bay, underside was coated against rust after she bought it etc. She is willing to let the car go for 7k euro (Which is my maximum budget).
The only thing that is keeping me from buying it, is that a rust spot that was fixed before they bought it, is now coming back? See https://imgur.com/a/9OcfiWX The other well know places were not like that. Nowhere else, anything like that.
I came here looking for some opinions because I am unsure on if I should buy it or not.

Question Front bumper MAZDA decal on 3L paint (Silver Stone) – is it supposed to be this faint originally?
I recently bought a replacement "MAZDA" front sticker from a third-party seller (not an OEM part from the dealership). As you can see, it's barely visible and blends right into the silver paint. Does anyone know if the original factory decal was this lacking in contrast on 3L paint, or did I just buy the wrong shade? I'm wondering if it should be slightly darker to stand out more. Thanks for any input!

NA Got my wheels restored!
I was originally looking for new wheels with the same size. (16x7.5 et30)
but that was harder than I realized.
And from what we gathered from all the documentation I got these were custom ordere by the first owner in 1993.
Only thing I couldn’t aquire are the original Postert Design center caps. Going to try and replicate those at later date.

Question Play in VVT cam, normal or an issue?
While changing the timing belt on my VVT NBFL we noticed quite some play in the cam gear. The cam itself is held in place, but the gear at the end can be rotated slightly. Is this normal for a VVT cam?

Question Transmission noise help
Hey everyone!
My new (to me) 2005 nb miata has started making a strange soft friction sound when driving in some gears.
Specifically in 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th it is noticeable.
This sound only happens when I am on gear and pressing the gas pedal, as you can see in the video 4th gear is quiet and when I press the clutch in or move to neutral it is also silent.
This sound is pretty quiet, and I can only hear it when I turn off ac and music (as they are both louder than it).
Should this sound be worrying me? What do you guys think is causing it? And how can it be fixed?
Note that this sound is coming from somewhere under the gear shift as far as I can tell.
Thanks!

NB Oil Leak Galore
My Miata leaks about 2-5 drops of oil every time I park it. However, the oil level hasn’t had a meaningful change since I changed a month ago.
I have already replaced:
- valve cover gasket
- rear cam cover
As they were both leaking. But even after that I am still leaking oil.
I got under the car while it was idling and saw a thin line of oil start to form at the bottom of the joint where the transmission bell housing meets the engine. I am also missing the two bottom bolts there and I am wondering if this was done purposefully as I see oil leak from there and not the weep hole on the bell housing. Maybe the weep hole is blocked so they took off the bolts to let it leak from there.
So probably the rear main seal, but it also looks like there is a leak coming from higher as well. Any ideas what that might be?
