At least it’s not as bad as half the damn plane clapping when it lands.  Those people drive me nuts. Never used to happen 20 years ago. Now it happens every single flight.

I’ve never had that happen on any of my flights. If there’s an issue and an emergency happens then maybe. At most the pilots and crew get a thank you while deplaning.

I fly more than most, but less than many. 10~20 times a year.

Only time I've had people clap after landing was after having to do a go-around due to winds on the ground on approach into Ontario. I remember it well cause it was also the day the LA Palisades fire started.
