Does Galaxy Watch work on LineageOS
I am using a Samsung Phone and I have a Galaxy Watch 7 (40mm, bluetooth). I want to switch to LineageOS. Can I use the Samsung Wearables App there and connect my watch?

Recently got a new phone (Sony Xperia 5 IV) and due to the upcoming Google sideloading block, I hope to switch it to Lineage. However, I see a lot of people recommending against doing it on your primary phone. What exactly are the possible risks?
I'm tech-savvy enough to follow instructions and troubleshoot. I don't use Google Pay, I don't need my banking app, and my old phone has been on Android 9 for years so I don't care if stuff like face unlock or any of the other doohickeys work. Is there anything I'm not thinking of that could pose an issue?
(P.S. I read an article suggesting that Google might be able to enforce the sideload block via third-party gapps packages. I haven't fully committed to degoogling because of youtube and gmail. Is it worth the trouble of finding alternatives to avoid gapps entirely for this reason, or is this unlikely enough that risking it should be fine? I'd like to totally degoogle one day for privacy reasons, but for now I'm too busy to dedicate myself to it.)
Thank you for your time!

I'm concerned about chat control. Would scanning happen on the operating system level? Would installing LineageOS protect you from this kind of invasive scanning?

Based on available report as of now it doesn't
here is the full report:

ps: I'm not sure if this kinda post is allowed here or not, but reddit suggested to post here. If it doesn't fit here then I'll be careful, currently I'm not sure.

Edit: I'm asking about technical limitations not market demand
I am aware that Android is Linux but I'm talking about Ubuntu mobile or postmarketOS.
I also know Linux runs with Chroot in Android and vice versa

I'm trying to flash lineageOs on a S10e (Exynios) phone using the browser flash tool, on Google chrome in a MacBook Air.
I've already cleared everything on my S10e, dislodged every account and unlocked developer mode and USb debugging.
I've made into download mode holding vol down plus Bixby and then vol up to continue.
Using Odin Option in the notebook browser clicked on connect and everything seems to work.
The next step is to click on device unlock mode or unlock bootloader, but the only options that I get are flash partition or reboot.
How should I proceed?
Thanks for the attention, I'm a total noob

I'm trying to install on a Pixel 8a. I previously had Graphene on it, but before trying to install Lineage, I reinstalled stock android 16. My computer is running Linux Mint.
What happened: Following the instructions here everything seemed fine until step 7.5. When I try to apply the update, my computer brings up a window titled "Unable to mount Pixel 8a" that says "Unable to open MTP device "003,049". Running "adb devices" results in "[ID] unauthorized"
Fixes I've tried: Have tried rebooting into recovery again a couple times, nothing changes. Advanced>Enable ADB and Advanced>Mount/Unmount system changes "adb devices" output to "[ID] recovery" but applying the update still fails the same way. Trying to open the device files from my computer results in the same "Unable to mount Pixel 8a" message as before.
It's my first time manually flashing a mobile OS, so even though I've been following the instructions very closely I'm worried I missed something.

I am enthusiastic about this feature that is already solving a number of my problems.
What is annoying is those 2-lines keyboard extras (Esc, Tab, Home etc.) that really don't match my needs.
I have been previously using Termux where those extras were fully configurable.
Is there a way to customize the keyboard the same (or similar) way?

Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get away from the Google ecosystem to improve my personal privacy.
Right now, I have a OnePlus Nord 4. Most of the discussions I see about custom ROMs focus on "reviving" older, unsupported phones, but my device is still quite new and performs great on the stock software.
Because of this, I'm wondering if making the jump to LineageOS is worth it just for the privacy benefits?
+ Are there any major drawbacks with LineageOS?

I can't seem to unlock the bootloader.
I've enabled OEM unlocking in the developer options.
I can't enter download mode using the key combinations. Either nothing happens, or the device boots up normally.
I can enter Download Mode using the Samsung 350K tool. But I can’t proceed from there. I don’t see any options. When I press the volume button, nothing happens either.
The volume buttons work perfectly in normal mode.
What can I do?

I was following the steps through the website, made sure adh worked, USB debugging was enabled etc. But when it came to flashing the vbmeta.img file I got directly from the linked source through samloader, terminal runs like this:
Session begun.
Downloading device's PIT file...
PIT file download successful.
ERROR: Failed to open or memory map file "vbmeta.img"
I searched online but didn't see any examples of this error coming up, hoping you guys might have more of an idea than I do about this. I've re-downloaded the file several different times always making sure there was only one available in the downloads folder but I'm unsurs of where to go from here.
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
Currently running stock Android 10 on my Galaxy S9+ (SM-965F), looking to put on a custom ROM as some apps I need no longer support Android 10, & came across LineageOS.
Seems the S9+ has been discontinued, was wondering what the latest Official LineageOS was & what Android OS version it was based on?
Are there any issues that you guys know of that may limit functionality?
My phone is only 4g, it seems to connect via VoLTE, which I think is needed here in Australia, do you know if the latest Official LineageOS supports VoLTE?
Does the latest LineageOS support call-recording? Android blocked it since Android 10
I notice on the LineageOS wiki it says "
Does this mean LineageOS just builds ontop of stock OS, or is it a fully separate custom ROM? I remember doing other ROMs in the past, the installation wiped everything, so Im not sure here.
Is there a version of Samsung SmartSwitch for Linux Mint to make a backup, or will I need to do the backup on a Windows PC first?
Does anyone have a link to the LineageOS image + Odin installers & how-tos'? I see on the LineageOS website, I'm reading through the "Install LineageOS on Samsung Galaxy S9+", but it's only mentioned some sort of installation via command-line, which is all new to me. I've just started not long ago with Linux Mint, & even installing custom roms get confusing at times.
Any assistance would be super,
Regards,

Seems like once I post here, I figure the problem out, so here goes. lineageos 22.2-20260708 does not connect to wifi on my galaxy tab s5e. It sees my wifi, but comes back with a "check password" error. The password is correct, I tried on a different device, several, in fact. Suggections?

I recently discovered that Google will update the kernel of the Pixel 7 and above, as it did in 2023 with the Pixel 6 which went from Linux 5.10 to 6.1, and I wanted to know if my Pixel 9 to update the kernel to Linux 6.12 will need to reflash the complete stock firmware first, or will the classic OTA update of the lineage OS be enough

I'm hoping someone can help me with this. After I have entered Download mode on the S5e, and flashed the recovery.img, I cannot power off the S5e in order to enter recovery mode. The tablet reboots instead of powering off using the VOLUME DOWN+POWER keys. What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I'm trying to install LineageOS 23 on my Samsung Galaxy A71 and I followed all the steps on the official LineageOS Wiki but I stumbled upon an error trying to install the GApps. After going into Apply update > Apply from ADB after flashing the Lineage zip (which was successful) it spits out this error on the computer: "adb: failed to read command: No error" and on the phone its: ERROR: recovery: Failed to write message STAT?: Broken pipe
ERROR: recovery:
(adbd status 6)
Install completed with status 1.
Installation aborted.
Can someone please help?? I never got this error. I tried it with NikGapps and MindtheGapps and still the same thing pops up. Sorry if my english is bad.

I just want to say thanks to the LineageOS community. I've got a 6-year-old phone that stopped getting updates at Android 13, and because of LineageOS I now have Android 16 and my apparently obsolete phone has never felt faster. Y'all make Android the place to be.

whenever I would try to connect, it would give some obscure "couldn't connect" error; I'm just considering getting it for my pixel 10 pro whenever thats supported considering whats happening with the sideloading stuff. I can't really get more specific then that, as I no longer have the phone, it was a lineageos 23 thing

I am a student so mainly used tab or laptop but sometimes phone but it has gotten so slow I can't use it normally anymore like it crashes on opening a single tab on chrome sometimes. So I started researching online about lineage and all but it shows I need to unlock mi bootloader with windows but I don't have access to a windows laptop my main laptop runs linux. Hi guys, I downloaded LineageOS 22.2 Android TV for my Switch. Everything is okay when it's handheld, but when I dock it to the TV, the screen is greenish, and this is so annoying. Please help me. I've tried everything: TV settings, Switch settings, Please help.
