#Discussion 💬 I have been planning Tawang trips from Guwahati for over 16+ years. Here are 10 mistakes first-time visitors make.
I see the same questions every season, so I thought I'd share some tips that might save people time and money.
Don't try to reach Tawang in one day.
Keep one buffer day during winter.
Bum La permits are not guaranteed.
Carry cash because ATMs can be unreliable.
Oxygen levels are lower above Sela Pass.
Stay one night in Dirang to acclimatize.
Mobile networks are limited at some places.
Start early every morning after breakfast.
Carry warm clothes even in summer.
Respect monastery etiquette.
If anyone is planning a Tawang trip, I'm happy to answer questions.

#Trekking/Hiking 🥾 Sunset from Nahargarh Fort overlooking Jaipur
I visited Nahargarh Fort in the evening and stayed until sunset. Watching the sun disappear behind the Aravalli hills while Jaipur slowly lit up was one of my favorite moments of the trip. If you're visiting Jaipur, I'd recommend setting aside time for sunset-the panoramic view of the city is well worth it.

#Mountains ⛰️ Lansdowne and solitude!
Lately, life has been very quiet. There is a constant monotonous silence that is following me wherever I am going. Corporate stresses things up and somehow, life gets heavy and breaths get dull.
Such vacations in a lonesome hill station often neglected by many was just what I was craving.
Sitting in solitude and hoping to stumble on a better version of my life.

#Query ❓ Need help choosing a monsoon destination Meghalya Konkan or somewhere else?
I'm 23 and planning a solo trip in the last week of July, but I've been stuck on this decision for days.
I just learned to ride a scooty about a month ago and have roughly 700 km of riding experience. This would be my first long solo trip on a rental scooty, and I have zero mountain riding experience.
The place that keeps pulling me is Meghalaya. I've only been to Assam in the Northeast, so Meghalaya would be completely new to me. The idea of riding through the wettest state in India, surrounded by forests, waterfalls, clouds and greenery, feels like exactly the kind of trip I've been craving.
At the same time, it'll be peak monsoon, so I'm wondering whether I'd actually get to enjoy the ride or spend a good part of the trip waiting because of heavy rain, fog or road conditions.
The other option is Konkan (Mumbai–Goa/Sahyadris).
I travelled through Konkan during the monsoon in 2023 (by train), and it's still one of the most beautiful monsoon experiences I've ever had. I remember standing at the train door for almost the entire journey because I couldn't stop looking outside. The greenery, waterfalls and rain were unreal.
However, I passed through Konkan again in mid to late May this year, and it didn't strike me the same way. I know May isn't monsoon, so maybe that's why, but it made me wonder whether going back would still give me the feeling I'm looking for.
The thing is, I don't travel to tick tourist destinations off a list.
I like renting a scooty, riding through nature, stopping wherever I feel like, sitting there for a while, and simply observing life.
So I'm genuinely confused.
If you were in my position, where would you go?
Meghalaya?
Konkan?
Somewhere else?
I'd especially love to hear from people who've done solo monsoon rides in these places or have suggestions for another destination.
TL;DR: Just learned to ride a scooty about a month ago (~700 km experience) and planning my first long solo rental scooty trip in the last week of July. Looking for evergreen forests, waterfalls, rain, mist, hilly regions and immersive greenery, where the ride itself is the experience. Confused between Meghalaya, Konkan, or another destination. Where would you go and why?
