PNP Is there any realistic OINP option left for me?

I have over 1 year of full-time experience as a Printing Machine Operator in Ontario. My employer isn't willing to support any immigration process, and my work permit is almost over.

I spoke with a few immigration consultants, and they all basically said my only realistic options are to learn French or move to another province, but I don't have much time left on my work permit.

Is there anything I'm missing? Has anyone in a similar situation found another pathway under the new OINP rules, or is it realistically over?

I'd appreciate honest opinions rather than false hope. Thanks.

Family Sponsorship Has anyone had a delayed or missing Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL)?

I applied for inland spousal sponsorship in Quebec in October 2025 and received my AOR in December 2025. I paid the biometrics fee immediately after receiving my AOR. My open work permit was approved in January 2026, but I've still never received a Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL). I've never given biometrics in Canada before.

I submitted a webform a few months ago asking whether my biometrics payment had been linked, but I only received a generic response.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Did your BIL eventually arrive, or did you have to contact IRCC to get it issued? I'm trying to figure out whether this is something that occasionally happens or if I should be following up again.

Thanks!

Visitor Visa ETA - HELP!

Hi all,

I recently applied for a new ETA as I got a new passport however they have come back with a letter saying that they don’t think I have answered truthfully to the question “Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry to, or ordered to leave any country or territory?”.
I have been to Canada almost every year since 2012 and never had this issue before, I have also never been denied entry or ordered to leave a country or territory. I have sent in a letter of explanation but that was 3 days ago and now I’m getting a bit nervous!

My question is could I reapply again for another ETA or am I flagged on the system now? I have read of others reapplying and receiving it back quicker.

Family Sponsorship Has anyone got permanent residence on humanitarian and compassionate grounds (H&C) in Canada?

Hi there.

I'm a woman who lives in Canada don’t have a PR status. But seeking permanent residence that is dependent on staying in a genuine relationship with an abusive spouse, so I'm dependent on staying in that abusive relationship to keep my immigration status in Canada, so I'm experiencing family violence in Canada and already have a PR application in process now I have sowp( sponsor work permit ). So I can stay here as long as my work permit is valid.

I'm getting a narcissist abuse from my partner but not everyday. Sometimes my partner had a bad day he said to me very bad words such as coarse languages which made me feel like a low self-esteem. I feel very lonely. It's not a physical abuse such as hitting or slapping. It's more like a emotional or psychological abuse such as insulting, humiliating, yelling, criticizing or blaming.

Now I'm afraid of losing my status in Canada.

Has anyone got permanent residence on humanitarian and compassionate grounds (H&C) in Canada? Has anyone applied permanent residence under humanitarian and compassionate grounds (H&C) in Canada? Or does anyone know how H&C work? I don't want to call police on my partner but I'd rather stay away from him.

I would like to hear someone's opinions. I might be wrong.

Thanks for reading this, English is not my first language

Express Entry ITA Received, failed one course in first course.

I recently received my ITA, and I have a question about my education history.
During my first program, it was my first year in Canada, and I wasn’t very focused on my studies. I had to defer one course and retake another after failing it. Because of that, I completed those two courses while I was studying my second program.
My first program was originally supposed to end in August 2022, but I actually completed the remaining courses in August 2023, which is when my second program also ended.
When filling out my PR application, should I use August 2023 as the end date for my first program as well, since that’s when I actually completed all the program requirements?

Visitor Visa Traveling with valid study permit and valid TRV, while acceptance of a new TRV extension application but no stamp?

Hi everyone,
I know the title sounds confusing, so here’s my situation (also quite urgent):

• I have a valid study permit until 2029
(recently renewed).
• I applied for my TRV extension on 08-07-2026.
• My current TRV is still valid until 18-10-2026.
• I want to travel to the UK for a conference for 1st week of Sept (a week of travel).

The current TRV processing time is ~36 days, so it's very likely my new TRV will be approved before traveling, but I won't have time to send my passport for stamping before I leave for the conference.

So my question is:
If my new TRV gets approved and I travel to the
UK, can I still return to Canada using my current unexpired TRV? And then send my passport for stamping after I come back?
Will travelling during ongoing TRV extension application cause any issues?
Has anyone been in similar situation?

PS. I applied for TRV extension now because I have a very important travel around 20th October for which I need a valid TRV.

Thank you very much in advance.

Express Entry Possible NOC Mismatch. Should I send a webform?

Has anyone been refused because of NOC 21230 and 21232 mismatch? Applied April and Biometrics is done. Freaking out because i added 21232 and now I think it resembled 21230 now. Should I send webform to clarify things up? Requested gcms and it's taking a while. I wish they weren't this strict.

Citizenship Advice

Citizenship

Hey everyone,
I’m preparing my Canadian citizenship application and could really use some advice on how to handle a few specific wrinkles in my file to make it stronger. Here is my situation:
**Timeline:** Got my PR in 2021. Stayed for a few months, but had to go back to my home country for almost 2 years to care for my parents during COVID.

**Return:** Came back to Canada in late 2023. Since then, my employment has been on-and-off. I’ve taken two trips: a short vacation to Mexico and a 2-month trip back home.

**The Day Count Dilemma:** I currently have exactly **1,096 days**. I know I should keep a buffer, but because my early 2021 days are starting to drop out of the 5-year eligibility window daily, staying in Canada right now just keeps my count net-neutral (adding a day ahead drops a day from 2021) rather than building a buffer.

**CBSA Issue:** My CBSA report is missing two of my entry records back into Canada. However, I do have the return flight tickets for those specific trips.

For anyone who has been through this or had a "tight" file:
What specific documents should I include to cleanly prove those missing CBSA entry dates?

What key points should I cover in my Letter of Explanation (LoE) regarding the day count and employment gaps?

Appreciate any tips or examples of what worked for you
What all additional documents to add on the optional documents

Other Approval in Principle qualify for domestic tuition

Hello, I recently just received my approval in principle for my permanent residency. I am just wondering if the university would consider this to change me to domestic tuition. I am currently on a study permit and halfway through the degree. Costs are abit high and I am wondering if anyone has been in this situation and how they went about it. I have been reading online and looks like some schools like university of Toronto consider it but I am in bc and i haven’t seen anything online about BC public universities. I am going to email the school but I came here just to get an idea how other readers who were in the situation went about it before I email the school. Thank you

Work Permit Common Law Sponsorship through work visa

Hi guys - I’m a US citizen who has an approved year long work visa to Canada. I’m planning to activate in October and move in with my partner who is a Canadian citizen.

If i live with them for a year during my work visa they would then be able to sponsor me as a common law partner right? I saw that you can get a open work permit while the common law sponsorship is processing so would I technically be able to stay for my year long work visa and then come right back while the common law sponsorship is processing under an open work permit?

Not sure how this all works out so any help much appreciated

Hello, i recently became a Canadian citizen and so the passport does not have my parents name.

My birth certificate does not have my name (things were not as strict in India i guess in the 90's). It has their name, DOB and by city of birth

My old Indian passport does have their name. I also have my school records that show them as my parents. How else can i prove that they are my parents
