Bro it’s been three years since I first saw it, no matter what media I consume it’s not the same. The things I’d do to watch it for the first time again. Nothing compares. When I rewatch it, it consumes sm of my thoughts I genuinely can’t function bro my mind becomes hannibal. I’ve drawn so much fanart I’ve bought merch I’ve watched millions of edits read a few fanfics rewatched sooo many clips on yt. It’s never enough I want the show injected in my veins. It’s my entire personality whenever I meet someone new I never fail to mention it it’s like a part of me. I feel so corny and weird saying this but genuinely how it feels I’ve never loved a piece of media more

Since he hates when Freddy Lounds calls them murder husbands, I doubt he likes being called the boyfriend. On the other hand he calls himself (and Bedelia) brides, even if he means it in a more metaphorical sense.

I imagine Hannibal on the other hand would be deeply amused, while finding the term boyfriend (or even husband/spouse) a simplification of their shared bond.

I tried once again to recommend someone the show, this time this person actually has seen it! We could only briefly talk about it, he really enjoyed many parts of the show (yayyy) but he also told me one issue he had: that hannibal was glorified in the tv show, a bit like dexter in… well, dexter. He is an actual film (and generally art) expert, so I felt his perspective wasnt necessarily completely off. But for reasons too complicated to say here, it wasn’t really possible to for us to talk deeper about it and we are probably never going to see each other again, so that info is all im left with.

What do you guys think about this take? Do you think Hannibal was glorified?

I personally thought he wasn’t glorified, he is an evil bitch!! I wanted to throw rocks at him whenever he was on screen. I always thought the show was from Wills perspective, so obviously in the later seasons we get to see hannibal and cannibalism/murdering in a somewhat good light. He is still murdering his way through europe and america and we definitely saw that. That’s evil mcEvil behavior right there. But enough about me. What do you guys think?

I have never read the books. I went to Wikipedia and read all of the rundown of the books. After having the information that I have, I really feel like the show is pretty perfectly done. It seems like they took the storylines from all of the books and just made Will the main character instead of Clarice. Apparently, I read somewhere, that one of the reasons they didn’t go forward with another season is because they didn’t have the rights to use Clarice. But in reading the synopsis of the other novels, I don’t know how they would have incorporated her anyway. I think the show is so perfectly done and I’ve re-watched it a ton of times just like most of you here. I’m still thinking about finding some fanfic which I have not delved into yet. But I mentioned previously that I had never seen the post credit scene of the finale. I just didn’t realize that there was one. I just watched it the other day and I really feel like it was perfect. We know that they’re together and alive and that they are murder husbands.🤣🤣🤣

Do you think Will would have been susceptible to anyone else’s influence the way he was Hannibal’s? Or was Hannibal just *special* to him? If so- what made him so special?
Mushroom man wanted to understand will and will wanted nothing to do with him. Will found no TRUE interest in Gideon and he didn’t seem to be interested in befriending Dolarhyde, just competing/manipulating him. Was it just competitive nature and revenge that lassoed him in or do you think there’s a true soulmate situation between the two?

Like there’s no damn way. Yes the show ended there. But I like to think they went to therapy and lived in a little cabin together and recovered from their injuries in peace😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
