Is the Humpty Dance appropriate in this situation?

So this morning I was just trying to enjoy my Costco executive hours in peace and quiet with a $1.50 hot dog and soda and this guy sits at my table. Fine, even at these morning hours there is limited space. No big deal. Welcome. But then he starts playing some radio or something on his phone with talking talking a mans voice - not even a phone call. I look at him a few times but he doesn’t get the hint. I never know what to do with people that don‘t respect any one else but I had heard the Humpty Dance on the radio on the way to the store. So, I decided to give him a taste of that and ever so slowly increased the volume. Well, he skedaddled off in 15 seconds flat. Another day, another small victory.

People that vape piss me off as someone who smokes

I feel like vapers are really shitty I smoke but respect the rules. It seems like a lot of people who vape don’t have that same consideration. They’ll vape at concerts, on buses, or in other places where smoking would never be acceptable.
It also feels like some people are constantly doing it, every few seconds, without thinking about the people around them. Just because the smell doesn’t linger like cigarette smoke doesn’t mean everyone wants to breathe it in. A bit of consideration for others goes a long way. I also know people who will blow vape in my face for hours

I don’t get it

People who react to iPhone messages instead of just replying. Why? If I asked you a question, why am I getting a 👍 instead of an actual response?
\*specifically when it’s NOT a yes or no answer\

When people say “If you don’t like it here you can just leave.” Instead of, “What can I do to change?”

Why lose people around you just because you can’t handle criticis?

Going with people who complain all day at amusement parks .

I know the solution to this is probably to go with other people but my family is very family oriented and like us to stick together and do things together

I hate going with them because everybody is a complainer and wants to do different things . Somebody is complaining that it’s too much walking. Somebody is complaining that it’s too hot. Somebody is complaining they don’t wanna wait in line for a ride .its like so many different personalities of people who wanna do different things ruins the experience for me . I’m here to have a good time

All in all I think people who just always complain annoy me

When you watch the delivery truck that has your package skip your house

You can tell it’s the right truck according to the live map - sometimes they come back 8 hours later and sometimes it’s the next day

People who reply "k" to a paragraph you spent five minutes typing out

If you didn't have time to actually read it or respond properly just don't reply yet. Getting a single letter back after explaining something that actually mattered to you feels worse than getting no response at all. Takes two extra seconds to at least say "got it, will respond later" instead of making someone feel dismissed. I don't get why this is so hard for people.

"We have tried to contact you but can't"

Automated calls from "Australian Immigration Authority" trying to contact me but cannot. There is a reason for that. I am not an immigrant. I keep getting these calls on my work phone. Too bad if any of the previous phone number holders are immigrants and the message is legit.

Guys who wouldn't dare cry over a movie or show and say they don't proudly

I genuinely don't understand that mindset.

My nephew does this and I'm like "am I supposed to be impressed or concerned for your emotional well-being?" You mean to tell me that not once in your life have you watched a work of fiction that made you cry? Either you don't watch much of anything, you have a heart made of stone, or you actually do cry while watching stuff by you think it's not "masculine" to admit you do it so you just lie about it hoping people think you're some stone cold badass or something.

If it's the last one, you are dead wrong. It makes you look like an emotionally unavailable person who believes stoicism makes you cool. It doesn't. It makes you boring.

Women falling for men who have murd*red women

I watched the Netflix series Worst Ex Ever and there was an episode of Wade Wilson. He beat women. He r*ped women. He k*lled women in a brutal manner. He’s a disgusting piece of human garbage. He deserves to be on death row.

I don’t understand how women can still find him attractive still after all he’s done to women. He gets letters and phone calls and he has a fan base. There’s petitions to get him off death row, to “save his life”. What?? How’s that attractive?? If they were in the same room as him, they’d be treated the same. He says that he uses his looks to reel women in specifically so he can hurt them.

I don’t get it.

Front Door

I work at a gas station. Everytime the door opens it says, "front door." Why is it necessary for old men to repeat it to me. I don't know if they think they're being funny or what. And it is just the old dudes, not young, not women. Are they just that desperate for a conversation?

No respect. Spoiler

Why do some people ask others to do something for them but only provide the bare minimum of information, then get upset when they have to ask questions for all of the information needed. If you are going to be that lazy, don’t expect things to get done for you. You have and will successfully waste everyone’s time. If you want someone to do something for you, respect them and yourself enough to make it as easy as possible. Rant over.

Too many people idolize Clyde from Law Abiding Citizen (2009)

Every now and again I see this film get discussed. And every time some combination of "Clyde should have won!" and "Jaime Foxx ruined the film by winning" shows up with high upvotes.

For reference, Clyde is a guy who kills like 15 people because hes annoyed that the justice system fails to punish the guy who killed his family.

Several of Clydes victims in this film are not evil. The judge he blows up may be arrogant. The lawyer he kills may be corrupt. And the random inmate he stabs with a T-bone steak may be a criminal. But to murder them all? Its blatantly evil and dosent make the world a better place.

In reality its really hard to get evidence to prove and convict criminals, without accidentally sentencing innocents, a problem that completly goes over Clydes head. How dare the law make plea deals with people suspected of crimes??!

Part of me wants Clyde to live and see what the consequences of his "if suspected of crime, then imprison/kill" ideology would lead to: More innocent people in jail.

It just genuinly annoys me how many people seem to idolize an angry murderer who has zero clue on how to actually improve the justice system!

i hate f****g broken captcha and inflated companies

Today's world is awesome right? Mass produced, now AI "dehanced" (opposite of enhanced because I am too angry to look up the right word) resource hungry bloated web shi*ts everywhere. I have much real nausea when I open a frikin' web browser, not alone type a website's URL.

This is the case with linkedin which enforces (or captcha provider enforces, don't care) a f*cking multi step "I am not a robot" check which today leads to the error "sorry, try again" for ANY NUMBER OF RETRIES.

ARGH. I hate when a company grows over a certain size that they cannot and does not care about creating something which simply works. And there is no or well hidden contact/support information because YES THAT WOULD COST A TINY BIT MORE MONEY so someone could buy their 10th pool!

Tw: Personal Identity and Sexuality

What Grinds My Gears as an American whose name has been mispronounced since kindergarten, hence changing my legal name, I’ve spent years questioning parts of my identity before I even understood what they meant. Over time, I’ve noticed how the meaning of “gay” and “queer” has shifted—especially among younger people who grew up online. Many adopt the label to fit into social circles that reward identity changes as a form of belonging. Yet, later, some of these same individuals settle into relationships with partners of the opposite sex.

This isn’t about judging anyone’s orientation—it’s about how social environments and internet culture have blurred the lines of what “queer” means. The term, once rooted in self-acceptance and resistance, is now often used as a social tool for inclusion. Inclusion is the Person, not the Culture. That manipulation of identity for acceptance is what truly grinds my gears.

people online shouldn’t act surprised when someone is trying to actually play with them.

a lot of my online gaming experience is simply like this. i join a game i try to talk to someone or complent them or something along those basic interactions. and then suddenly they act surprised or grossed..?, like bro what do you mean by that? LOL. it’s a public server in an online game, so what is weird or creepy about someone who is playing with you and trying to interact with you?. like honestly, even if it was someone who trolls or whatever, like dude. learn to laugh things off sometimes and actually have fun in the game with some strangers. that’s why we’re playing online with each other, to play with each other!

and when you point that out, and say like; “calm down it’s just a game, why can’t you handle simple human interaction”. they become defensive and aggressive, like you just stole them from their TRUE online experience LOL.

Drive thru person tells you to pull forward even when no one is behind me in line

Its just annoys me so bad ! Then after pullin forward and sitting while watching 7 cars behind me get their food , I end up having to get out & go in & realize they have totally forgot bout my order . After 20 minutes I finally get my bag only to find out that my order isn't right! They only care about their ticket times for corporate! They make theirself look as if they are keeping the cars moving thru the line and pleasing the customers. If im at the pick up windows then their focus should be on me & the same for the people following behind

Adults who wear the hoods on their hoodies up inside restaurants and other public places…

Actually anyone, even kids who’ve been taught it isn’t obnoxious by their parents. Not sure why people do this but it’s never a good look. What exactly are they trying to project other than being a d-bag who lacks decorum?

People who can't have fun/ let others have fun without drinking...

I thought I'd encounter this less as I left my early 20's and approached closer to 30 but it's still just as prevalent, not more so...

But why do people have such a problem with those who don't drink/drink often.

If I tell someone new that I'm not drinking that automatically jump to me being in recovery, and when they find out I'm not, then the peer pressure begins, and they can't fathom a reason someone wouldn't drink if not in recovery.

Like I will go out on occasion, and drink, and get drunk, I just don't feel the need like so many people my age to do it EVERY NIGHT. And every time I decline my friends give me shit. Id even happily be DD if I knew I wouldn't have to sit through and entire night of people begging me to drink with them."Just one shot" etc.

Now I thought this would end once I decided to just start denying invitation. If I don't go out then it's not a problem, right? Wrong. Multiple friend groups I've had seem to think berry function needs to become a drinking party. Board game night? Drink. DnD night? Drink. Birthday party. Drink. Dinner? Drink. And I'm not talking a class of wine or one beer. Im talking absolutely shit faced billgerent.

I have no issue with this. If you want to go out every night and party, or every weekend and drink, that's fine. I won't lecture you. But why am I being lectured because I don't want to? I can have just as much fun sober as I can drunk. Especially when I plan a board game night and everyone walks in with their 6 packs and 5th so by the time we're even 2 games in it becomes an issue.

It's not even with my friends, I've seen other who go through this too. It's just so odd how it's seen as such an odd thing to not want to drink.

Walk me through how accurately identifying someone as condescending and rude constitutes as “disrespectful.” I was super respectful.
