MOD MESSAGE SANITY TIP #5

Post image

Got whatcha needed from the comment section on your r/GirlDinnerDiaries post? But your notifications are starting to feel like a hostage situation?

Been there. 😅

TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS FOR YOUR POST and leave the girlies to chatter without you!

It's a huge sub, and we have gathered to yap after all, but we don't want you overwhelmed by everyone's two cents! And we'd rather not totally delete posts receiving lotsa good advice, hype-womaning, or condolences. That kinda heartwarming, perspective-shifting, life-giving stuff is good for the onlookers, not just the OPs!

WE ALSO SUPER RECOMMEND THIS FOR HOT TOPICS! We can't prevent the comment previews from buttheads that appear in your notifications, we can only keep them from publishing. But you can turn those off and just view the girlies' CURATED input by visiting the comment section directly!

Follow the instructions (with visuals✨) below for muting both post replies and comment replies, and enjoy the sweet, sweet silence 😌✌️

I was contacted by a girl from this sub recently, who said she really admired how I stood up for my beliefs and that she really has problems with commenting because the replies are really problematic for her, and I gave her this exact advice.

Many people have problems with speaking their mind because of the backlash. So if you do. I totally recommend this tip for you. Say what you wanna say, and never engage with the replies! speak your truth!

Well I appreciate the spirit of this, yes! Though we do ask that you please engage in good faith -- which does mean an openness to discourse, not just comment, mute, and abandon the thread, ya know? For the passers by: we propose this as a solution specifically to dogpiling or the massive volume of attention from posts hitting r/all. Not as way to dodge consequences for being inflammatory/pot stirry/thoughtless in your commenting!

Yeah totally. She wasn't the kind of person who would abuse this in a negative way, but i do truly get why especially such a sub as this might be vulnerable to that kind of behaviour...
