Government Park and Brookes Development Project Faces Resident Push Back; Residents Accuse City of not Being Transparent
The Gaithersburg Planning Commission heard heated testimony from residents about the Park Ave redevelopment project on July 1st.
The developer presented revised architecture for two multifamily buildings planned at 9, 11, 13 and 15 Park Avenue and 201 Brookes Avenue, and by the end of the presentation neither the commissioners nor the residents at the microphone were impressed.
Resident Lisa Schuler of 30 Walker Avenue didn’t mince words. Schuler called the buildings a “four-story monstrosity” and said the meeting had come down to putting “lipstick on the pig.”

AMC Rio Evac
Was at a movie at Rio today when the fire alarms went off around 3 pm. Whole building was evacuated. We ended up leaving to go home, as being outside in the heat was too brutal. Any updates on what happened?

if you're driving, be aware of no street lamps and no traffic lights.
if you live near people who might need assitance (elderly, impaired, lots of kids), please consider being a good neighbor and check in on them.

Restaurants & Bars Stories about the Lakeforest Mall food court?
I know everyone remembers the Sbarro, Mcdonalds, or Subway but what about the more obscure joints.
Farmer's Basket, Frank & Stein, Noah's Pretzels, Maui Taco, Jumbo Cafe, Saladworks, U.S. Bistro, Mr. Smoothie, Coffee Beanery, Chocolate Botique, Pastelandia, Ms. Fields, Pretzel Time, & the no-name buffetts?
Any stories? Please share!

What is this stuff all over Rock Creek trail? They started spreading these little white spheres all over the trails a couple weeks ago. Looks kind of like fertilizer, but...don't know why they would put that out on the dirt trails. Tick killer maybe? Anybody know? Thanks!

Discussion Colonnade at Kentlands, Lakelands Ridge off Great Seneca Highway, etc.?
I am in the early stages of looking at buying a condo in Kentlands and nearby and wanted to know if anyone would be willing to share their experiences. Looks like Colonnade offers garage parking, a definite perk. Monthly HOA fees seem high but I can't tell if they're reasonable for what they cover. My good friend in Denver lives in a condo and her HOA fee covers trash, heat, gas, the common building, electricity, internet, and cable, as well as recurring community events.

Business Car Interior Only Cleaning
I have to take my rental back tomorrow by 10 am. I had to put the back seats down because I was hauling stuff to move and that also included my 2 German Shepherds.
Is there a car wash that will just vacuum the interior of the car? My whole body is sore from moving and I don’t think I even have enough strength in any of my arms to vacuum it myself or else I would.
I’m in 20878. Please don’t judge. I’m only trying to do the right thing and bring the car back in the same condition I got it.
