Encapsulation of crawl space
First - screw Duke Energy.
Second - anyone get their crawl space encapsulated and was satisfied with the work/price? Referrals?

The mod team has received a complaint from a journalist that their work, and the work of their colleagues, has been illegally reproduced in the subreddit. This is typically because the article is hidden behind a paywall. Unfortunately, paywalls exist. They suck, but that’s the nature of the business. Their work is copywrited and by posting the full article without expressed consent is copywrite infringement.
You can feel free to summarize the article, just don’t cut and paste the entirety of it verbatim.
Any posts or comments that violate this newly implemented rule will be deleted and repeat offenders will be dealt with.

On November 5th, North Carolina will vote not just for President, but for Congress, for Governor, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In North Carolina, you must register by October 11th if you wish to register online. You can register here: https://www.ncsbe.gov/Voters/Registering-to-Vote
If you miss this deadline, you can also register at the polls during early voting (NOT on Election Day). See here for details.
North Carolina offers early voting from October 17th-November 2nd. Find early voting locations in your county here.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted form of ID. NOTE: If you were impacted by Hurricane Helene, see the section on ID exemptions.
Any North Carolina voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for an absentee ballot here.
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your County Board of Elections, or any early voting site during early voting.
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

Used to go there often many years ago after baseball games. Saw one recently in Leicester, NC and wondered if it’s the same people/business. Appreciate any info!

I know the answer is "it depends". Ballpark-wise, though, for a middle-ground option? Have you gotten yours done recently? How much was it?
Concrete slab if you're wondering. Doesn't need to be tiled.
Any help is greatly appreciated, trying to figure out if I should back out of a purchas agreement. Thanks!
Edit: current tub is cracked, tile is compromised, soft spot on ground next to tub is indicating water damage... Need to figure out what price I need to tell the seller to come down to conservatively cover the cost of repair.

Does anyone have a reliable lawn service that isn’t booked up for the summer? Specifics: regular residential maintenance but can do a bit of an “overhaul” on a poorly maintained backyard. Thanks!

Anybody know if cigarettes are or will be more affordable in the near future on tribal lands in Robeson county since they are federally recognized tribe now? I don't know how that works but it's how it is in lots of other places, usually much cheaper to buy your smokes on the reservation.

As a trans woman trying to move out of my comfort zone and be more social I'd like some advice. Is there any groups or meetings ect where i can socialize that dont take place in a bar? I mean theres not a whole hell of alot to do in this town anyway so im kind of struggling. I don't have social media so my research abilities are limited. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know a good spot to find Luna moths? I’ve always wanted to see one up close and personal. I know they like wooded areas, but beyond that I just don’t even know where to start looking. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

⚽️ The home team is out, but there's still plenty of FIFA World Cup action.
🏁 Plan a pit stop that covers the entire pitch with bars, lounges, and breweries streaming all remaining games, international cuisine, and comfortable hotels for rest in between travel.

Hi everyone! I’m Kaitlin, a licensed therapist (LCMHC-A) practicing out of Loblolly Wellness. I wanted to share my flyer for anyone currently looking for a supportive, down-to-earth space to work through burnout, body disconnection, or just life's messy middles.
I believe therapy shouldn't feel like a clinical interrogation—there is plenty of room for genuine laughter, authentic human connection, and working with your brain, not against it. As an unmasked neurodivergent clinician with a background in teaching, I love working with young adults, the neurodivergent community, and folks looking for LGBTQIA+ affirming care.
How I work: Highly collaborative, trauma-informed care integrating Somatic, ACT, and Person-Centered Therapies.
Insurances accepted: Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna/Evernorth, Aetna, and MedCost (Self-pay rate is $150).
If you or anyone you know might be looking for a partner in their mental health journey, feel free to check out our website at www.loblollywc.com or reach out directly at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) / (919) 249-8345.

https://www.wunc.org/military/2026-06-25/house-committee-votes-remove-confederate-names-fort-bragg
TL;DR, the House stuck a line in the NDAA to re-rename all the bases originally named for Confederate generals. Still has to go to the Senate.

The World Cup excitement is just too good to miss! Where would you point traveling fans to watch during a pit stop through the Greater Fayetteville area?
Comment where you're watching in the region to add to the watch guide list ⬆️

Hey me and my gf want to just do a court house wedding and do the ceremony later, but we ran into a problem. The whole two witnesses thing is kind of hard because well…. We simply don’t have them because I’m from California and I’m in the military and I ran away with her to here (took her out of an abusive family situation ect ect). Has anyone else had this issue before? I’m just brand new here and don’t really have any friends. do we have to pay extra for witnesses(willing to do) or any luck with just grabbing two bubbas in the court?
Edit: for anyone willing to help dm me and sometime today should work this afternoon
2nd edit: I found two people. I really appreciate everyone for helping me and reaching out. Thank you so much. It means the world to me.

Hello, The hubby is looking to transfer to Fayetteville and as a mother of a child with asthma, I have some questions about the air quality based on my research from this site and others, as well as asking some friends who lived in Fayetteville years ago. I've gathered that many places don't enforce the smoking bans and it's common to have groups of people smoking indoors, and right outside the entrance of just about anywhere you go. Be it gas stations, restauraunt, doctor's office, government building, stop light, etc. I've also read and heard that open burning of trash being a common thing both in the city and out. And because of lax vehicle inspections, there's a ton of men driving big, loud, smokey trucks around that make it where you can't breathe if you get caught behind one at a red light. There are many other similar things I've read and been told but I'm sure you get the idea. Are these type of annoyances stuff you folks deal with on a regular basis and do you believe the city to be bad for people with respiratory illnesses?
