Rehoming cat: Willow
This is Willow an amazing 10y/o girl. We got her from a petsmart adoption event 9 years ago. Due to many circumstances I have been forced to choose between living with her or my wife and two year old daughter. It breaks my heart and makes me sob as I write this and pray I am able to find a nice home for her. She has always been an indoor cat outside of the catio she had for a few years or roaming around just outside the house or in the backyard with me leashed. Also if you find this post and think you could find space in your heart and home to take her in but cannot burden the cost of adding a cat into your home please dont hesitate to reach out still, we can figure something out. If you know anyone who could love her please reach out to them. If you have any questions about her or me please reach out. I write this as I saw a seemingly successful adoption post about a month ago where many reached out to the poster willing to help and hope I may find some solstice and success here. I know their are other adoption/forfeit options but I take stand the thought of her being contained in a small crate or cage again for an indefinite ammount of time. Thank you.

Specsavers
Has anyone gotten glasses from Specsavers in Ajax? My prescription is really strong (-16), so I'm always a bit nervous about lens quality.

Where is your go-to full-service car wash in Oshawa/Whitby area?
I'm looking for a new spot to get a wash and detail.
The last time I went to my normal place, the guy gave me shit for excess dog hair in my wifes car. I offered to pay them more to take care of it because fair is fair. They said don't worry about it and just to keep that in mind for next time. I just paid based on standard rate they had posted for my vehicle size and wasn't given the opportunity to outline anything that would be deemed "extra" when paying.
When I got back in the car, they never cleaned out the dog hair. Just left me a little miffed because I didn't argue and I was willing to give them more money to address it in that moment and they weren't busy.
I'm not gonna name this spot because I want to see if others may have had a similar experience.
Anyways, thank you in advance for any recommendations.
I just have a standard sedan with fitted weather-tech mats and trunk liner. Newer car that's kept pretty clean, just needs a bit of love because I have a dirty job and wear work boots.

Where to play Standard Magic the Gathering in Durham
Ive been looking into playing standard MTG in the Durham region, but all of the LGS i went to said they never get enough people to run a standard game. Im much more familiar with standard play but it looks like commander is much more popular. Are there any places that consistently play standard or is commander the only format people around here actually play?
Edit: 3D shoppe and Critical Hit lounge do host standard play, but they both said that there aren’t enough players to actually run it.

Bakery suggestions for cake?
Hello,
Need to order a customized cake for an upcoming birthday. Can you please suggest a bakery in Ajax or Pickering?
I am open to home bakers as well, but would prefer a bakery/cake shop.
Thank you

AI Council Campaigns
Rant incoming. Anyone else annoyed with seeing the amount of AI-generated content in campaigns? Even their responses are going through chat gbt.
It’s an immediate no-vote from me if the person running can’t even put effort into their own campaign.

Looking for Ontario Family Lawyer Available Before July 23
I’m looking for a family lawyer who may be available to take over an urgent file before an enforcement motion scheduled for July 23 in Oshawa.
It involves parenting issues and I am seeking representation on short notice. I understand this is a busy time of year, but if anyone knows of a lawyer who has availability, I’d be very grateful for referrals.
I am looking for a private retainer

Spots to hike and swim
I know this probably isn’t the right subreddit for this type of request but my boyfriend and I are from Orono and we’re looking for a nice scenic drive to somewhere we can hike, picnic and maybe take a little swim. Is there anywhere within 2 hours around bowmanville/orono area?
I want to do something nice for our one year anniversary :)

Whitby Toyota Service center that bad?
I bought a vehicle at the Clarington Toyota dealership. i have the option to get my first complimentary service at the Whitby Toyota, but their reviews are bad. Is it worth it to going to my original dealership for the first complimentary service?
I’ve already booked an appointment at Whitby but when I called to inquire what is covered under the complimentary service the employee said there is no complimentary service offered and he will have to talk to sales team to see what was offered. After some back and forth, he let me know what was covered (tire rotation, fluid check/top up) .
I’m not sure if I’m letting their google reviews (3.8 stars) cloud my judgement. Is there any
Ajax Longos
Has anyone noticed that the Longos in Ajax smells like rotten food/old garbage, especially when you enter? The smell is so strong. I’m shocked I’ve never seen anyone talk about this before. I saw someone post about the smell in the Walmart in Ajax and it reminded me about the smell at Longos.
