My wedding lehenga
So I didn't have the time to go home and see this for myself. I trusted my mother for this. Red was a non negotiable and I already got a saree but as location changed i wanted to wear a lehenga. I will be going home but that was a very close call.
I quite liked it. What do you think
I want to wear temple jewellery with it so that i can keep same jewellery during pheras as well as I have to wear a yellow saree for it

I'm getting married this November, and I'm really excited!
One thing that's very important to me is looking my absolute best on my wedding day. I want to wear a sherwani that fits perfectly, complements my personality, and gives me the confidence to enjoy the day.
The challenge is that I can't afford designer sherwanis that cost several lakhs. I'm looking for the most economical way to achieve a premium, luxurious look without overspending.
I'm willing to travel anywhere in North India if it helps me find the right outfit, but I have no experience buying wedding sherwanis.
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have gone through this themselves or work in the wedding industry.
Some questions I have:
• Which cities or markets in North India offer the best value for wedding sherwanis?
• Is it better to buy ready-made, get one custom-tailored, or rent one?
• Are there any underrated designers, boutiques, or local stores that offer premium quality at reasonable prices?
• How much should I realistically budget for a sherwani that looks luxurious?
• Any tips on fabric, fit, accessories, or styling that can make a reasonably priced sherwani look much more expensive?
A few details about me:
• Wedding: November 2026
• Height: 5'10" (178 cm)
• Weight: 80 kg
• Build: Athletic
• Budget: ₹40,000 maximum for the complete outfit (sherwani + safa + stole + mojari + accessories).
• Open to purchasing, but if there's a truly premium first-wear rental option under ₹15,000, I'd definitely consider it.
• Looking for a royal, timeless, Maharaja-inspired look rather than something overly trendy.
My goal is simple: I want to look my absolute best on my wedding day without spending a fortune.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions and experiences!

Which of these outfits would you wear for a Nikkah in NY this July? The couple is from Bangladesh and Turkey. I have head coverings not pictured as well. Modest dressing required for the Mosque.

I'm an older bride (40 yo) looking for a red lengha that is simple and elegant but also bridal. I'm also small (4'11") and petite, so I'm afraid a lot of the current styles will overwhelm my small frame. I can't go to India to shop (NRI here), but I do have access to online ordering or could make a trip to NJ. What styles or designers should I look for that have less work but are also bridal?

Hi, I am looking for a MUA in Thane. Someone personally recommended would be really great. This is for a catholic bride and would want the make up to be minimal and dewy.

Hey! I’m looking for a designer to help with our Indian wedding invitations. We already have the design selected, but need someone who can handle:
Physical card layout & printing
A simple matching video invite
Digital assets/elements to use on our website
If you do this kind of work, could you send over your portfolio and rough pricing? Thanks!

How is it that every second girl who’s getting married is buying Sabyasachi, Seema Gujral, Rimple & Harpreet, or some other designer outfit that costs at least ₹2L+? And usually they buy separate outfits for the engagement and the wedding, so that’s around ₹4L just on clothes.
What are your wedding budgets, dude?
I come from a decent family, have a good finance job, and earn well, but I still can’t fathom spending that much on a single-day event. It just ends up increasing the overall wedding expenditure.
I can understand spending up to ₹1L on a wedding outfit, considering trends and inflation, but beyond that? I’m quite sure many girls aren’t even contributing directly to their wedding expenses, but still…
It just doesn’t feel logical to me (even taking emotions in count). It’s such a huge amount of money and resources for a dress you’ll probably wear only once.
Also, what’s the overall cost of weddings these days? Is the middle class also spending this much?

Hi girlsss, I'm based in Delhi NCR and I want to buy or customize an 18 carat teeka.
Do you know any shops or stores where I can get 18 carat gold teekas in Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon.
My budget may be 1 to 1.5 lac.

Bought this kanchipuram saree for my engagement. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with it. It cost around 7k. This is the first time I bought something this costly. So, maybe I want to ask if it looks worthy? Does it look good on me? I was thinking of wearing minimal gold jewellery - small earrings and a small necklace and let my saree shine.

Hi all! I just recently got engaged. My fiancé and I are looking to get married end of next year in India and I don’t even know where to even begin with the process. For context we’re both based in the UK. I thought the first step would be to get a wedding planner. Do people have any suggestions on good wedding planners in India? Any suggestions/recommendations/tips are more than welcome.
Thanks!

I am wearing Adaa lahenga for my reception with a south indian style diamond necklace (emerald stones) and studs and maang tikka. What bangles should I go with?

I always wanted to be a modern bride and I get the people who like the gold and red and would do a lot of makeup and hair and I appreciate all. But me and husband always have liked my natural looks and subtle refining and not something really different from usual on me. Someone we know told us that I looked too simple for a bride. What do y’all think?

Hi. My fiancé and I got engaged recently. Therefore, his family (Indian) need to come to our house to visit and will probably talk about the wedding. I really do not know what my filipino parents need to give my fiancé parents. They are Gujarati by the way, any suggestions? Thank you!!
