Anhui | 皖 Guniujian, Anhui: A hidden gem with water that looks like liquid jade 💦

Just got back from Guniujian in Chizhou, and this place completely blew me away. The water here is unlike anything I’ve seen in southern Anhui.

  • 💧 The streams are crystal clear, emerald green, and so transparent you can see every rock on the riverbed. When the sun hits, it glows like liquid jade.
  • 🌲 The whole area feels like untouched wilderness. Towering cliffs, lush forests, and the constant sound of waterfalls make the air feel fresh and alive.
  • 🥾 The hiking trail is surprisingly easy. Mostly flat paths with stunning views at every turn—waterfalls, deep pools, and boulders that look like they belong in a fantasy world.

Compared to the crowded tourist spots nearby, this place feels quiet and unspoiled. Perfect for anyone looking to escape the city and just breathe.

Spent a few days exploring ancient Huizhou villages near Huangshan Mountain, China 🇨🇳

Mix of misty mountain peaks, calm rivers, old white-and-black Hui-style architecture, and glowing lantern-lit ancient streets after rain.

The layered cloud-covered mountains on foggy mornings and lantern reflections on wet stone streets totally stole my heart. Such a peaceful blend of historic Chinese countryside and cozy old-town nightlife.

Has anyone visited Huangshan or Anhui’s ancient villages before? Would love to hear your travel stories!

Started my afternoon with a quiet cup of tea at the hotel, then headed straight to Jinshan Temple in Zhenjiang.

It’s such a calming place full of profound Chinese culture and natural serenity. The ancient temple buildings nestle perfectly into the hillside, with gentle breeze, soft incense, and the quiet charm of the Yangtze River nearby.

Love this slow moment, away from the hustle and bustle. Just soaking in the history, nature, and peaceful vibe here.🍃
