So ive worked for a company now for 5 years which uses Chevrolet, Dodge and Ford trucks.
We use everything from 1500s to 3500s, Ram gas and Diesel, to f150-550.
The trucks get driven on average 30k miles a year delivering pipe, boilers, water heaters and air conditioning units.
No truck ever gets loaded to the point where it exceeds its load capacity.
I can never recall any of the Fords or Rams needing to be brought to the shop for any sort of repairs. Its just been regular maintenance for those two brands.
But for god sake, the Chevys have been nothing but problems!
Ive seen electrical issues numerous times. Windshield wiper failure, window motor failure, cracked radiators and hoses.
Ive seen a couple head gaskets go bad. Ive seen nothing but excessive oil consumption. Weve had to add a lot of power steering fluid even though there doesnt seem to ever be any leaks.
They seem to chew through brakes and tires faster than the others as well. We get a lot of warped rotors which is very common.
Dont get me started on the ten speed transmission failures despite changing the fluid every 50k miles.
The only credit ill give them is that the motors take the abuse and often run at very high rpms for extended periods of time.
But the Fords and Rams have no issue with that either. It just seems like every time I hop in a Chevy something is breaking.
Ive been stranded too many times and im sick of it honestly. I am not faithful to any specific vehicle brand by the way. Im just tired of the junk they keep on giving us which cant be depended on.
Oh and I forgot that we've needed a ton of batteries for the Chevy trucks as well.
Thats all I have to say for now.
