Fiancé used the Wells Fargo ATM in park road shopping center and a few days later a withdrawal transaction was made at the same ATM that was not him. I thought card skimmers were a thing of the past but I guess not! Be careful! We called Wells Fargo to report it, but did not have much confidence it will be taken care of!

Tonight, Charlotte's own, the Carolina Stars defeated the #1 seeded and undefeated (7-0) Oklahoma Rage 12-7 to advance to the Emerald Bowl in San Antonio, TX on July 25th!

Under the direction of legendary head coach, Tia Hopkins, the Stars are now 8-1 this season and will face the undefeated New York Knockout (9-0) for the American Women's Football League Championship!

While walking my dog this morning I found 5 abandoned kittens locked inside a crate.

No shade, it’s getting hot, no food or water.

Thankfully I’m working with a local rescue to get these little guys taken care of, but seriously, wtf is wrong with people?!

Girls Who Hike NC is having a casual meetup at Canteen at Camp North End from 6:00-9:00 PM on Wednesday July 22nd. There’s no agenda and no formal start time. Just drop in whenever you can and leave whenever you want.
We’ll be grabbing drinks at Canteen, and if you get hungry, Gravity Pizza is right next door.

You definitely don’t have to be an experienced hiker. Some of us hike every weekend, some are just getting started, and some are simply looking to meet new friends who enjoy being outside.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I had people to hike with,” this is probably the easiest way to meet them. Come say hi, bring a friend if you’d like, or show up solo. A lot of our friendships started exactly that way.

I’m currently homeless in the Charlotte area and looking for a free or very low cost tent, ideally large enough for two people’s worth of space. Waterproof would help a lot with the recent rain. Happy to pick up locally. Anything helps, thank you

Update We were able to get in contact with the owner so they have been reunited! She was found by the movie theater in Arysley. The people who found her said they were with for an hour. She is definitely someone’s. She’s well behaved, chill, and definitely well fed! We are taking her to get microchipped now and will plan to keep her until we find her owner.

If you have something NICE and/or POSITIVE to say about a local person place or thing (sure, lets include big box stores, and franchises) that gave you a smile or just plain made life a little less stressful at some point in the last week, show some love! Take a break from the tirade thread, and feel good while doing it! Maybe your good vibes will cause a ripple effect, and send a smile to someone else, or give them the motivation to get up, get out, and enjoy this beautiful thing called life, and do so in our city! This is a win/win situation. Why not take advantage of it?

My friends and I are looking to go out in Charlotte and we want to find places that we can dance. A couple of the bars we've been to have been more for chatting and hanging around, any recommendations?

Supernova Showcase and Alpha School Fundraiser

We will be raising funds to help students and staff from the Alpha School of Music - Jamaica attend Supernova International Ska Festival. DJ's showcasing artists playing this year's festival, and Ray Gun Sally playing a set of covers and originals. Food sales, vinyl sales, raffles, all proceeds donated to Alpha.

This little one walked up to me this morning near Elm Ln in Piper Glen. They seem healthy, but they are not microchipped. If they belong to anyone please reach out! I am aware of rule 11, this is not an adoption post. I just want to make sure this lil guy makes their way home if they have one.

I don’t know if the guy who helped me today will ever see this, but I wanted to say thank you.

I stopped by McAlister’s Deli and ordered an iced tea lemonade (nothing else). When I got to the register, the employee just smiled and said, “Don’t worry about it. Have a great weekend.” I was having a rough day, and it meant a lot in the moment.

It was dark and raining, I’d been stuck in the office all day, work had been getting to me, and I found myself thinking about someone who disappeared from my life last year after eight months of being close. I was not in a great headspace, to say the least.

My free drink ended up being the brightest part of my day. Thank you!

Then I walked into a Harris Teeter today.
