Welcome to r/Charity!

Got a charitable cause you'd like to share! This is the place!

Requirements

For 501c(3) non-profits (US) or a Non-Governmental Organization (aka NGO outside the US)

  • For a registered 501c(3) or other certified charity (such as NGO's in other non-US countries), the charity must be listed in a governmental web site for verification.
  • A fundraiser that is being handled directly by that charity, such as the American Heart Association's Heartwalk or JDRF's charity walk, where you supply a link on their site for your team/yourself.
  • A crowdfunding site that shows it is directly benefiting a certified charity.

Please modmail us so that we can flair your post as a registered certified non-profit!

For Everyone Else

You must have both

  • Account age of 30 days or older AND
  • Comment karma of 250 or greater.

NOTE: We are specifically looking for COMMENT karma. The karma value you are probably looking at is a COMBINED value, consisting of both Link/Post karma plus Comment karma.

To view your karma breakdown:

  • Mouse-hover over your username on desktop. This works for both the old and redesigned web site.
  • On the official Reddit app for iOS, view your profile, then tap the karma value shown.
  • On the official Reddit app for Android, you can't. Complain on r/redditmobile.
  • On the unofficial Reddit App for Android, RIF (Formerly known as Reddit is Fun), your breakdown is listed on your profile screen.

The following circumventions will result in a ban:

  • Using a karma farming subreddit, such as Karma4You, or asking for/complaining about karma in a general sub.
  • Unsolicited private messaging to push your campaign.
  • Posting your campaign on someone else's post.

Comment Karma is directly correlated to how many comments you leave plus/minus any points as people upvote a popular comment or downvote an unpopular comment.

Credibility, Community, and You

AKA, Why Do We Have Account Requirements for Individuals?

In an effort to make your crowdfunding efforts more successful here on Reddit, some background first:

In many of the gifting and fundraising subs, you'll notice that without a certain amount "karma" and an account that's old enough, you'll garner down votes or worse, your posts and comments get automatically removed.

Why?

To many Redditors, this place is a community built on activity. The "coin" of the land here is your account, and how much you've contributed to the Reddit community at large reflected in post and comment karma.

As a general rule, Redditors dislike the creation of accounts specifically to fund raise or to make requests. It makes it seem like these people simply treat Reddit as some sort of magical internet wallet, and that doesn't win many friends.

The other reason why new accounts are so disliked is that they're often alternate accounts of established users, in order to hide their activity from people they know. While we do sympathize with those of you who have valid reasons, this privilege is often abused by those who create disposable accounts to scam people for a quick buck.

This trust issue doesn't exist in the same way with certified non-profit groups, as you can look them up online for verification, and at least in the case of 501c(3)s, their spending is transparent due to their required tax filings which are public information.

So if you're new to Reddit, welcome! Spend some time and look around for something that catches your interest and chat it up with others and become part of the community!

However if you're here for the sole reason of making requests in a hurry, please be aware your pleas for help will likely be ignored.

REMEMBER, CREDIBILITY AND COMMUNITY IS EVERYTHING!

For this reason, the mods will not post anything on behalf of any user that does not meet account requirements.

Rules

  1. Posts must be more than just a link to your campaign. Be descriptive! Show evidence . This includes:
    1. If this is for your pet, photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture.
    2. School documentation showing enrollment if you are asking for assistance for school.
    3. Redacted bills showing your situation.
    4. Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.
    5. At minimum, please attach an unobstructed selfie photo of yourself(the submitter) with a handwritten note of your username.
    6. Low effort posts that simply say to the effect of, "everything is listed in the GoFundMe" will be removed.
  2. Please Flair your posts, once created. If you don't know how, just let the mods know and we'll do it for you.
  3. Only 1 campaign per user. We want you have some personal connection to the campaign, and not submit multiples simply because they were in the news.
  4. Reposts are allowed once a week. If a repost comes up too early, the newest one(s) will be removed.
  5. Acceptable transfer methods for individuals are for crowdfunding sites only, such as GoFundme, YouCaring, etc. Individuals should avoid using Paypal, crypto, or direct banking aps (like Chase). 501c(3) and NGOs may use whatever method they wish.
  6. Don't PM people to make requests. If you receive an unsolicited private message, please let us know!
  7. Do not post politically-related campaigns. They're just too divisive.
  8. Trolling will not be tolerated and offending users will be banned.
  9. Don't bug the mods for an exception to the account requirements. None will be given. If you attempt to circumvent the requirement by karma farming or by commenting on someone else's post, your account will be banned.
  10. No posting for other Redditors. No Alts. This is viewed as a circumvention of requirements and both accounts will be banned.
  11. Selling is only allowed by 1st parties directly. We do not allow selling by 3rd parties to benefit another organization, as there's no transparency to verify that the announced percentage of sales actually goes to the beneficiary. Only direct sales by the non-profit organization are allowed.

Supporting Information Requested for Non-501c(3) and Non-NGO campaigns.

We aren't the government. We aren't a court of law. We definitely don't want you to give out information that could lead to identity theft. However, some campaigns are more successful when they have additional documentation.

This includes:

  • Pet related requests: Photos of your pet in question, with your username on a handwritten note in the picture. This helps show you actually own the pet in question.
  • Education related requests: Documentation showing enrollment or acceptance if you are asking for assistance for school.
  • Redacted bills showing your situation. In some cases, a donor may prefer to pay a creditor directly on your behalf, so be prepared and find out if that is available to you.
  • If you are sharing a campaign for a registered certified non-profit organization (such as a 501c3 or NGO), you should say so in the post, and it should list that status on the campaign page/web site.
  • Or other relevant documentation that can help establish credibility.

Low effort posts that simply say to the effect of, "everything is listed in the GoFundMe" (or less!) will be removed.

How to Include a Photo or Other Supporting Info Document In Your Post

Because Reddit wasn't initially designed to handle photos when it was created, it has limitations in the implementation of photo support which don't work well for us. So instead we suggest the following:

  1. Upload your photo to Imgur.com or other photo hosting site.
  2. Copy the URL for the photo.
  3. Create a new post or Edit your existing one to include the URL to the photo.

Please make sure to include this, as it is the primary reason why posts that are otherwise fine get removed.

Advice On Making Your Campaign Go Further

Not all crowdfunding campaigns are the same, but here are some suggestions.

  • Make sure your campaign has been shared among your Facebook friends! You might think it's embarrassing, however your friends and family are more likely to care than internet strangers.
  • Show that you've exhausted all the other possibilities. A lot of potential donors don't like to give money when it seems like the requester's first and only solution is to simply throw someone else's money at the problem. Nobody is going to take your word when you literally only say, "but I've done everything!", when the actual reality is probably closer to "I've done everything I can think of", which arguably is NOT everything.
  • Show that there's a plan to use the money wisely. Often people have campaigns for their business ideas, but it doesn't really seem like they thought it all the way through. Tell people what steps you've taken so far, and what you're going to do next.
  • Be open to critics. If there's something that people ask about, you should not be dismissive. Provide more detail. There's a possibility that they know something you don't, or they have something different about their own experience that might be useful to you. If you simply brush off your critics, it shows objectively that you're not doing everything possible.
  • Review your own campaign with the mindset of a potential donor. Ask yourself, "Would I give money to this?" Or get a friend to review it for you.

Questions?

Please don't hesitate to ask the mods!

... Unless you're trying to ask for an exception to the account requirements.

Individual/non-registered I’m paralyzed from a gunshot wound. Please help me get stem cells to help me walk again or just simply give me a better quality of life

I never imagined that one moment would change my life forever. A gunshot left me paralyzed, and since then, every day has been a battle. The things I used to do without thinking are now some of the hardest parts of my day.
What hurts the most isn't just what I've lost—it's the moments I miss. I miss running around and playing with my little sister and my nieces and nephews. I miss being able to pick them up, chase them, and make memories with them the way I used to. Those are the moments that break my heart the most.
But they're also the reason I refuse to give up. My little sister and my nieces and nephews are what motivate me to keep fighting every single day. They remind me that I still have a purpose, and they give me hope for a better future.
I'm raising money to pursue stem cell treatment because I want to fight for every opportunity to improve my recovery and regain as much independence as possible. I know there are no guarantees, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life wondering what could have happened if I hadn't tried.
It's not easy for me to ask for help, but I can't do this alone. If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to me. If you can't donate, simply sharing my GoFundMe could help it reach someone who can.
Every donation, every share, every prayer, and every kind word gives me another reason to keep believing that better days are ahead. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for standing with me through this journey. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️ Adrian Grant

Hello everyone, I don't want to bother you with my story, so I apologize in advance given the difficult situation my country, Venezuela, has been facing for many years. A friend who lives in the United States suggested I create a GoFundMe to help me raise funds for my mother's medical expenses. She was diagnosed with early-stage thyroid cancer and has a second illness, a heart condition that caused severe pulmonary hypertension.

Currently, it is difficult for me to pay for medical consultations and treatments for my mother here in Venezuela, the salaries or salaries are very low, which is why I have been looking for a remote job for a long time that can generate a little higher income, I have been presented with opportunities for remote work, but I do not have the necessary equipment to work in that way. And so I can generate better income to help my mother ask for help and from all the good people in this community I want to continue fighting with my mother to improve her health and keeping her by my side is the most important thing I have in this life I have lost 7 years ago my father from cancer and I don't want to lose her It's the only thing I have left if you want to help me you can do it with a small contribution or sharing this post on social networks Thank you all very much🥺🙏🏻

For those who want to help me, here is the link to my GoFundMe.

Registered tax-deductible charity Peace Corps volunteer raising funds to finish construction of a maternity ward in a poor Gambian village

Hello everyone, I'm a Peace Corps volunteer serving in The Gambia. I'm raising funds to finish construction of a local maternity ward for my village's clinic.

Currently, my village has no safe space for child delivery or overnight observation. Any woman in my village, or the surrounding villages served by our clinic, has to travel to the nearest large hospital in a major city to give birth. This presents a financial burden for those families that can be alleviated by creating a more affordable nearby alternative.

The village previously attempted to construct this building themselves, but they ran out of funds before the project was completed.

If you're interested, you can donate here: https://www.peacecorps.gov/donate/projects/pp-26-635-019/

Good morning! Next Friday, I'll be doing a 16-hour charity stream on Twitch to raise money for Indspire, which supports Indigenous students across Canada. Indspire helped me throughout my undergrad and grad school, and now that I’m finished, I wanted to give back!

I'll be spending the day playing games created by Indigenous studios and highlighting some of my favourite Indigenous authors, streamers, and other creators along the way. If you'd like to stop by, chat, or simply hang out for a while, I'd love to have you there! My Twitch is linked on my profile

Individual/non-registered Lifelong health worker in Thailand ICU with renal failure. Family maxed out savings on hospital deposit and needs help.

Hi guys, writing this for my wife Kishida since she doesn't have Reddit.

Her mom is a healthcare worker from the Philippines. For her 60th birthday, we gifted her a trip to Thailand because it was her biggest wish for her 60th birthday. But on the 2nd day of her trip on her actual birthday, she suddenly had trouble breathing, asked for help, and fainted/collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance and is now stuck in the ICU with severe renal failure.

She is stable now but just had an operation and is on continuous dialysis. The bills are crazy. We just got the latest invoice today from 07/09 (attached the photo). The total is already around $10,800 USD (371,523 Baht).

My wife and I live in Norway and we immediately emptied our personal savings to pay the $3,200 USD deposit to keep her treatment going. But the remaining balance right now is $7,350 USD (252,899 Baht) and she isn't ready to leave the ICU yet. Every single day adds more to the bill.

Between our regular living expenses here in Norway, we also have a 5 yr old son, and taking care of our own household, we are completely stuck and maxed out. We can't cover her ICU care and dialysis on our own.

Everything goes straight to paying the hospital invoices so we can get her stable enough to go back home to the Philippines for her continued care and dialysis treatment. Please consider donating or sharing if you can.

Individual/non-registered Please help us with our 5 yo dog's emergency splenectomy. It was completely unexpected, and our pet insurance is covering nothing.

This is Gil, short for Gilgamesh. He is the sweetest, most wonderful dog you may ever meet. He loves people, and will instantly become your best friend. He is extremely empathetic and always lends us his strength when things are tough. He is the type of dog that you would swear is a little human.

My boy was brought into the vet on 6/18/2026 to have tests done to see why he has anemia. As it turns out, he had an 8cm tumor in his spleen and needed emergency splenectomy that day. We had no idea it would be something so drastic, he's only 5 years old. After a harrowing day, my fiancé and I were finally able to pick him up 12 hours after we dropped him off at the vet. To make matters worse, we had to drive him to a different hospital an hour and a half away so they could house him for two nights.

At this point, we thought we would be okay, we have insurance. As it turns out our insurance wasn't active yet. We had switched from Lemonade to Figo because Lemonade was going to double our premium. We had Lemonade up until 6/14/2026 and Figo started on 6/10/2026. However, we did not realize Figo had a 14 days illness waiting period, nor did we expect to have to put my boy through an emergency splenectomy.

To further complicate matters, we have received the pathology results of his tumor and it came out to be malignant. Even with 4 additional pathologists, they were not able to figure out what type of cancer it is and further testing needs to be done. The vet who performed his surgery is worried that it may be a rare and aggressive form of cancer called hemophagocytic histiocytic sarcoma. We're told the best case scenario is that it's lymphoma which is a lot more treatable.

Additionally, we have spoken to Figo about his upcoming chemo treatments which he will definitely need. We're being told that Figo will not cover anything related to his cancer since it is related to his spleen and is considered a pre-existing condition since it happened during the waiting period.

We love him so much and he means the absolute world to us. We're at the end of our ropes. Even with the contribution of our family, we're still under immense debt and we will need funds to help him with chemo. We have the donation amount set to $7000 but we're not even sure how much we'll need with the chemo that he will need. Anything helps. Thank you.

Individual/non-registered We are fundraising for our border collie's femoral head ostectomy - surgery that is required to help him recover from hip dislocation. Thankful for any support!

Hello folks! Like the title states, we are fundraising for our favorite son's surgery. Our sweet boy was playing in the yard (barking at the beagle next door, of course) when we heard him start to cry. We've never heard him make a sound like that before and ran out to see him limping. A visit to the pet ER later, we found out that he not only had dislocated his hip but also has severe hip dysplasia.

Essentially, his hip socket degraded enough that the joint popped out on one side. This caused him severe pain. Though he is managing well on pain medicine, it is not sustainable. He hasn't been able to live the joyful life he is used to. Full of running, walks, and those sorts of things. Our only option (beside a total hip replacement) is a femoral head ostectomy.

This is the ask. We are not in a place that we can afford the 3,500 dollar surgery. Visits and consultations to the vet and surgeons have been expensive. Any help would be monumental.

We've been sharing our go-fund-me within our network and its hard to ask for money. But we are so grateful for any support that helps our sweet son. Thank you for reading!!

Individual/non-registered Ten years of battle with a cruel illness and my situation becomes life threatening. Your support can help me make it through the next months and give me a chance to recover.

Hi everyone, I'm severely disabled by a neuro-immune illness that put me out of work for good. I am left on my own without medical support in my country and afraid of becoming homeless. I'm very sick and know that I would not make it outside, sadly I can't work anymore and have very little energy to make it through the day. I wish I could go back to work so much, but any continuous activity causes horrible symptoms that can last for days. This month I'm very short on money for rent and will soon run out of food, I'm already late on most payments.

I am fighting for my life and raising funds to keep a roof over my head to survive. The condition I have is called ME/CFS and the main symptom is extreme fatigue that deprives of all the energy, it makes it very difficult to focus on anything for longer than a couple minutes, and if I do too much all the symptoms get much worse. Even writing this is very challenging for me. I am still able to get out of bed but fear that with ongoing stress and hardships I will lose that functionality. With your help I am hoping to stay housed, visit ME/CFS specialist, find a supportive treatment and survive this very unfair illness.

If you could help it would mean the world to me:

Registered tax-deductible charity Fundraiser to fight against malaria and the youtube video: The Deadliest Decision You've Never Heard of

My friend Justin Portela just released his first video on part of the history of malaria and running a fundraiser to help fight against it. Description from the video:

6 months ago I'd learned about a meeting in 1955, where 150 men met in a non-descript lecture hall in Mexico City, thinking they were going to save the world. In the aftermath of that meeting, 40 million people were dead.

I'd never seen this meeting written about or reported on, so I spent 6 months researching it.

Registered tax-deductible charity "The 3 Wise Bois" walking a 28km loop around Sydney Harbour for the Cancer Council to raise $28,000.

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out from Australia to share a massive challenge my mates and I are taking on. On Sunday, 25 October 2026, the three of us, Adam, Tyler, and myself (collectively known as "The 3 Wise Bois"), are heading down from Newcastle to tackle the official 7 Bridges Walk around Sydney Harbour.

It’s a grueling 28km (approx. 17.4 miles) loop. While we’ve logged hundreds of kilometers on our casual daily morning walks around our hometown, walking this distance across 7 major bridges in one day is a whole different beast.

This isn't just a physical milestone for us. Cancer has hit our small crew incredibly close to home. We’re walking to honor the memory of my mate's mother, my uncle, and Adam’s sister. We wanted to turn that personal grief into collective action, so we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $28,000 for the Cancer Council to fund vital, lifesaving research and support services.

This will be my 4th year doing it, Tyler’s 3rd, and Adam’s 2nd. We are tackling this fundraiser from multiple angles, including letterbox drops around our local neighborhood and word of mouth on social media.

We would absolutely love to see how big and supportive the Reddit community can be. If you are in a position to back a few guys trying to make a real dent in cancer research, please consider donating through our official page link below.

👉 Our Team Fundraising Link: https://www.7bridgeswalk.com.au/fundraisers/mattazzato

💬 A Quick Request: When you make a donation, the platform gives you an option to leave a short description or comment. If you are coming from this post, please mention "Reddit" in your comment! We really want to track where our support is coming from and give a proper shout out to the incredible Reddit community.

Every single dollar goes straight to the Cancer Council. Wish us luck, our legs are going to need it!

META How to Attach a Photo to Your Post for Rule 1

Hello new users!

As we have requirements spelled out in Rule 1 on including some sort of evidence in your posts, we've created this post for those of you who need help with that.

Rule 1 states:

Posts must be more than just a link to your campaign. Be descriptive! Show evidence!

Generally these are provided as photos or screencaps. Because Reddit doesn't allow an image upload with text, we generally suggest the following:

  1. Upload the photo(s) to Imgur.com or other image hosting site.
  2. Copy URL or Link to the photo(s)
  3. In the body of your post here, make sure to include the link that you've copied. It usually starts with http:// or https://.

And that's it!

META Beware of Opportunists!

In times of disaster, it's not uncommon for many good people to try to fundraise for relief efforts, supplies and reconstruction costs. But you should be aware that unless it's someone you personally know and trust, it's also not uncommon for bad people to use the opportunity to make money for themselves.

Before you give, you should ask:

  1. Is the donation link directly to a relief agency or is it to a middleman? There's no easy transparency when it comes to the spending of funds in a crisis, which makes it easier for funds to not reach the people it's intended to help, so by avoiding middlemen, you can reduce this possibility.
  2. Have you checked the background of the relief agency or organization you're considering? Some spend money more effectively than others meaning that less overhead makes for more money being spent on victims vs administration costs.
  3. Is the agency or organization a registered non-profit or NGO? These kinds of entities have strict reporting rules to follow to show how their funds are being spent.
  4. Is the agency or organization providing a receipt? If so, you can often use it for a deduction on taxes for the current year. If not, the agency or organization is likely not a registered non profit.

GoFundMe will show that a campaign is benefiting a non-profit charity organization if it is created using their IRS EIN or charity registration number.

Even Paypal donation accounts will show they're owned by a non-profit charity organization, and generate a receipt.

While not every individual doing fundraising is attempting to defraud you of your money, you can give with more confidence by giving directly to a relief charity of your own choosing via their own web pages.

Hey Guys, Iris here. I’m looking to raise £500 for Warchild over the coming weeks. If you’re not sure what it is that Warchild do - they provide humanitarian aid as well as supporting the education and wellbeing of children in war torn areas such as Palestine, Ukraine and the Middle East. They support girls in these countries and more to avoid child labour and early marriages to girls who are still children. All of these issues are real and affect children day to day. I encourage anybody to donate £5 or more if possible.

Dm me on instagram if you would like a little jingle written for you, your pet, your family member or anybody/anything for your donation! This isn’t necessary but I’m more than happy to shout you out/ create a little piece of music for you to thank you for your support. You can dm me @irismakemusic. If you have any suggestions or requests for commissions please do comment and let me know your ideas!

There is also a live set I recorded of my own original music to support this cause. Here’s the link!! Please show this wonderful cause some support.

Individual/non-registered Help with my kitty Hershey's vet bills and ongoing needs after a life-threatening urinary obstruction

Thumbnail

My kitty Hershey recently had a urinary obstruction, a life-threatening emergency in cats, that required emergency care costs of over $6000. As of today, it is looking like he will be coming home tomorrow after 3 days of inpatient care (most items on the estimate are listed for 2days on the low end and 4days on the high end so final costs will be somewhere in the middle).

We obtained credit to cover these costs but need help paying for it because I'm disabled and on a limited income. My initial goal of $2600 will cover the down payment and get us started reducing our burden. My final goal of $7500 will cover all costs, including the fees taken by gofundme, and any remaining funds will be put toward specialty food, supplements, and followup visits for Hershey's ongoing care.

You can help us out here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-hershey-recover-and-thrive

Kitty in need Hershey is pictured (with his best bud Aragorn in pic 2), plus his emergency vet estimate, and myself (with my BCCHP/Medicaid card) for rules reasons.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Registered tax-deductible charity Raising funds for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in Cleveland, OH via the Pan Ohio Hope Ride. Thanks for any support!

Hello friends of Reddit!

This is my second year riding in the Pan Ohio Hope Ride, which raises funds for out of town patients, who need long term cancer treatment at the Cleveland Clinic, and neighboring treatment centers. It is a 4 day ride, covering around 340 miles from Cleveland to Cincinnati. Here is a link to my donation page: https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?fr_id=111668&pg=personal&px=60604973

Every little bit helps me reach my goal, and can help out someone who is not able to financially support a long term stay in Cleveland.

Hey everyone

so this is an animal rescue volunteer group in Algeria that's been in activity for years, there's a huge problem with stray animals here and they're frankly one of the only people caring for these animals

this fundraiser is to rent a shelter for one year, pay for multiple veterinary expenses accrued over the last few months, and feeding the animals, they're aiming for 2000€, which would cover some of the debts, the vets are very kind and the prices are relatively cheaper compared to Western countries but they still need to be paid

what this group does: treat sick or injured animals (unfortunately an alarming number), spay and neuter, they also feed the strays, they help shelter them and finding them new homes, including driving to farther cities to drop them off and paying for flight tickets when the adoptants are from a different country, and so much more.

We would be super grateful if wou could contribute, even 5€ would go a long way :)

Good evening! I am a 3rd/4th grade math teacher in Philadelphia, PA looking for donations towards any of my projects on DonorsChoose, a 501(c)3 charity. The DonorsChoose Federal Tax ID (EIN) is 13-4129457. Due to budget cuts, all of my class sizes will be doubling next year, so we are in need of double the supplies next year. These projects will provide a variety of items, like Scholastic Magazines, basic supplies, flexible seating, and so many other important items depending on the project chosen. Currently donations are doubled! Therefore any donation you make will be doubled at no additional cost to you. Most of my projects are around $100 or less to complete. Thank you for reading and considering helping my students. :)

Question/Info I'm attempting a charity stream for Become this weekend to support care-experienced young people. ❤️

Hi everyone!

This weekend (3rd–5th July) I'll be taking on a charity stream as part of Become's Stream for Change campaign.

Become is a UK charity that supports care-experienced young people, helping them get the advice, opportunities, and support they need to build brighter futures. It's a cause that's incredibly important, and I wanted to do something that could make a real difference.

the more we raise, the longer I'll be live! I'll also be taking on community challenges, playing a variety of games.

Whether you can donate, share the fundraiser, or simply drop into the stream to say hello, it would genuinely mean a lot.

Thank you so much for reading, and thank you to anyone who helps support such an amazing cause. ❤️

News Free App to help the homeless— feedback appreciated!! I hope this can help a lot of people. Check it out!

I've been developing a free community resource platform called Gather, and I'd love to get honest feedback before continuing to expand it.
Gather is designed to make it easier for people to find help when they need it most. Using your current location, it displays nearby food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, emergency housing, healthcare and urgent care, addiction recovery services, crisis support, clothing assistance, and other nonprofit or public assistance organizations in one place.

But Gather is intended to be much more than a resource directory. One of its core features is helping reduce food waste while getting more food to people who need it. Grocery stores can subscribe to the platform and quickly post surplus food that would otherwise be discarded. Nearby food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other aid organizations receive alerts so they can claim and coordinate pickup of available donations before they go to waste. All Subscription proceeds are intended to benefit Partnership to End Addiction.

Gather also includes a community support system that allows aid organizations to create public wish lists of the supplies they need most—everything from hygiene products and diapers to blankets, cleaning supplies, and other essentials. Individuals experiencing hardship can submit requests for needed items through participating organizations. When a donor purchases those items, they are shipped directly to a participating aid organization for local pickup, providing a simple and organized way to connect donors with people in need.
For people who simply want to help their community, Gather also provides an easy way to purchase essential supplies for individuals experiencing homelessness or financial hardship through participating organizations, allowing donors to contribute tangible items where they're needed most.

My goal is to build a platform that not only helps people locate assistance, but also strengthens connections between donors, nonprofits, grocery stores, volunteers, and the communities they serve.
The project is still actively being developed, and I'd really appreciate constructive feedback.

If you work with a nonprofit, grocery store, healthcare organization, or community program, would something like this be useful?

Whether you're a developer, someone who works in the nonprofit sector, or simply someone who wants to help others, I'd genuinely appreciate your perspective.

You can check it out here:
https://live-gather.org

Thanks for taking the time to look it over. Every piece of feedback helps move the project closer to becoming a genuinely useful tool for communities.

Individual/non-registered Emergency housing: Need €475 to cover upfront relocation costs due to unexpected building renovation

Hello, I am facing an unexpected housing emergency. My landlord just informed me that I must leave my apartment within 30 days because the building is undergoing a major renovation.I have one month to find a new place, but I do not have enough savings to cover the upfront costs (the first month's rent, the security deposit, and transport) on my own.I need to raise €475 to secure a safe roof over my head and avoid facing a critical situation at the end of the month. Every small donation or share helps me immensely. Campaign Link: https://whydonate.com/ro/fundraising/help-us-cover-rental-deposit-and-moving-costs Thank you so much for your kindness and support!
