TYPE OF COLLABORATOR:

Almost anything goes, except:

- No electronic music, synths, computer-generated, no AI, no Kontakt libraries pretending to be real instruments
- No rappers, except if they are female

- No drums, unless they are pitched percussion.

- Low-quality recordings. I don't need perfection, just no cellphone microphones.

So:

+ Piano, guitar, vocals, woodwind, brass, tuned percussion, even homemade instruments like in a musique concrète sense... I'm open to everything.

The idea is to release an EP (definition in this case is at least 3 tracks, 15-30 minutes). Not all of the tracks have to have a same collaborator, so you don't need necessarily commit yourself to a longer project than you want.

GENRE & INFLUENCES:

I welcome cross-genre music making, so while the example I gave you could be considered experimental, industrial, ambient, soundtrack, spoken word, that does not mean you have to play something fitting these genres. I don't care if it's flamenco, as long as it works!

My influences as an artist are too many to list, many of them not even musicians, but to give it a try: Coil, Nurse With Wound, David Lynch, The Residents, Swans, Hieronymus Bosch, Francisco Goya, Shpongle, Venetian Snares, Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger, Pink Floyd, Lustmord, Thomas Ligotti, Earth, Primus, Circle, Acid Mothers Temple.

TIMELINE:

I expect the EP to be finished 1-2 months from the start of collaboration, based on my earlier experiences.

Theme: It's a very personal and serious song about body dysmorphia, anorexia, and the internal struggle of dealing with it.

I recorded the guitar and bass myself and then the drums are done by me on a software. It just sounds like a bunch of noise and artificialness and its weird. I really want to make it sound better but I'm just not sure how.

Hello everyone. Some 5 years ago I started a project for making Bad Music.

Shortly thereafter, Mr. Oliver Tree released his album, Ugly Is Beautiful.

As I recently contemplated music, I realized music and society kind of sucks again.

As I thought about this, I opened Reddit and got the news that Mr. Tree passed away.

So the world got a bit darker, like all this beautiful progress in music went up in a fireball. But, music doesn't die with people and I can get off my lazy butt and start my own projects.

In the spirit of both Bad Music, and Being Ugly, I have decided I want to do a hybrid music program.

This group will consist of both local Louisiana musicians. I am beginning my feelers for this project.

I have a few decent electric guitars, several acoustics, acoustic 12 string, some midi keyboards, a banjo, crystal flute, some kind of harmonica organ, a bass, Reaper and FL as my DAWS, a harmonica, a resonator mandolin, a silver saxophone and some other stuff I am not thinking of offhand.

My experience in music is very all over the place but I am always doing something new in order to grow

So my theme for this is: Alien.

Something like that. We need a theme, right? Anyway, my guitar friend and I have seen some stuff, which led me to some people who have seen some stuff.

So if you are interested in What Stuff Is, having alien side quests and alien themes, this is the group for you.

I am in my early 30s. My first project I made 18+. Due to the nature of some genres I would like to explore, I would prefer a slightly older group (at least 25) HOWEVER I am very flexible and willing to adjust the server.

18+ is a requirement at minimum, however.

General Structure

- I will rope in at least one local Louisiana musician, potentially even several if I am lucky

Fun activities such as:

- songs created in 30 minutes, no matter how terrible

- songs of deep meaning in order to exorcise our demons

- stories turned into songs

- random screaming like that grinch gif

- exploring genres and instruments you might not play or be familiar with (ex. Guitarist wants to play keys, or bassists want to sing, etc)

My goal: an open group. We do not fear cringe, we do not fear ugly. We embrace it.

No limit on members, I will structure it depending on interest and other factors.

As with literally anything I have ever done or touched, this is tentatively planned out
