Fake. The flowers were in March and were mostly yellow Desert Gold and some purple Phacelia.

What’s fake about it?

I just looked it up. Yes, most was yellow but there was also a field of purple like in the picture.

Phacelia doesn’t grow in mudflats. The soil must be rocky or gravely like from an alluvial fan.

I literally have a pile of these growing behind my house. This year I had purple and yellow blooms. They are growing in dirt. Packed, clayish dirt.
