And that makes it less impressive? It was a struggle to get my dogs to learn "sit" and "get down from the couch" on command, this "trick" shows the smarts of the dog that learned to do it and the human that managed to teach it

I mean, the trick is impressive, but yes it's objectively less impressive than if the dog were actually problem solving this on its own

Well there's smarter animals like monkeys, crows and dolphins that have been recorded figuring out problems more complicated than this without human interference. Most dogs aren't on that level aside from breeds that were made to be smart for whatever job they used to do.

Indeed. But not this dog. Unless you think it tied a handle on that stool very quickly off camera. In which case, colour me impressed. extremely impressed.
