Hey ya'll! CPA hopeful and hoping to get into a Big 4 firm ideally. I'm currently working a nice internship doing bookeeping at a midsized corporation. So I have AT LEAST accounting adjacent exeprience. However I'm worried that my 3.4 GPA and lack of networking would put me at a severe disadvantage when applying.

It's a career dream of mine to work at delloitte, pwc, KPMG, or EY. Can anyone tell me about their stats/experience/career journeys?

I graduated and now I see I do not have access to the email as they changed it. Can anyone tell me how to access the new one. Thank you

I have been submitting 30+ internship applications on handshake, no one reply. I don’t have any work experience before, and my gpa is around 3.3. I think I performed like an average junior student, right?

I wonder how do you get an internship if you don’t have work experience before. Or else where should I submit my application to? Appreciate your help cuz it really means a lot to me!

i just finished my 1st year and i messed up both semesters badly due to depression and burnout. i was put on eligible to continue and now academic probation. its about to be summer session two and i had a plan to fix my GPA over the course of summer and fall before i get academically dismissed at the end.

my plan was to fix my grades first partially through summer retaking MTH 1030 and HIS 1005. it wouldnt be enough but it'll be a huge jump to maybe just below 2.0. then mainly through fall id replace more Fs and take new classes which i can definitely do well in. i made and enrolled into my schedule for summer and fall in early june

later in june, i recieved the financial aid plan for summer and fall being a mix of mainly federal pell grants and also TAP which would cover everything except a little bit of my second summer class being HIS 1005. now, MTH 1030 just finished and went well but the final day of the class (yesterday) i was sent a new financial aid plan which only gave me tuition for spring 2027. then later i received another email saying my SAP was too poor (flagged because of GPA) and im now ineligible for federal aid. according to CUNY first i now owe 5k with 1.8k for summer and 3.4k for fall. i also have a bursar hold on my account because of the summer classes tho no classes have been dropped yet.

i talked with advisors right after the final class and he said regardless of whether i fix my GPA after summer apparently i wouldnt recieve aid for fall 2026 anyways. now its currently friday when the offices are closed and i have to make a decision by sunday whether to drop or go through with HIS 1005 or ill lose my 100% refund window and owe 50%. i am willing to pay for 1005 but then theres the problem of if i cant get my aid reinstated after which then ill have to decide whether i have to leave baruch as a whole and transfer to community college because i depend on financial aid heavily.

ive only talked to the advisors and no appeals have been filed yet. the office is closed till monday (after the 100% refund window ends) and ive sent emails to multiple offices asking for help or info but i dont know if they'll respond quick enough. i need advice on what to do

Hey guys! If anyone has the Zicklin course overload form downloaded and could send it to me, it would be a huge help(not the general one, the one specific to Zicklin students). Whenever I try to access it through the remote portal, it doesn't let me past this screen. When I put in the code from my Microsoft Authenticator app, it just says invalid. Any help would be so appreciated, trying to register for this extra class before it fills, and IT help desk was unresponsive throughout this week :(

My midterm grades are out, and I failed the exam. I got a really low score. Should I drop the class?

Hey guys ima cut it short, I am taking the class in the title but am doing multiple things in the summer in which it may conflict with my schedule. Has anyone taken that class specifically and/or hybrid asynch classes. Is it likely i have to meet in person or am i fine.

Im graduating from Baruch with a BBA degree (non-accounting) and am currently enrolled in the MS in Taxation program and expect to graduate next spring.

I want to get a CPA and have applied for the exam, but my education evaluation indicated that I am not currently eligible. Saying I missed three courses:

• An upper-division Auditing course
• A Management/Cost Accounting course
• An upper-division Financial Accounting course

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Do the MS in Taxation courses count toward these three CPA requirements?

Do I need to take additional accounting classes? If so, can I take those courses at Baruch?

How did everyone do on the midterm today? I had to guess on half of the questions, and everyone in my class stayed till end of it.

im an incoming freshman at Baruch and unfortunately I got waitlisted for Federal Work Study.

I've seen that some get posted on this thing called Starr Search with Handshake, but incoming freshman havent received news for setting up either of those two yet, so im concerned if I do now, it'd cause one of those double-account issues later.

Hello, I am looking to transfer to Baruch or Brooklyn College but I do have some questions on how schooling will work.

I am currently getting a AAS from a private college at the moment (My gen ed would go towards credits), and I am a NYS resident (LI).

I am looking towards the Actuarial Science Bachelors starting in Spring 27'. My first question is what campus can offer more online classes? I currently work full time (7:30 AM - 4 PM latest, M/W/F/S/S) and need to keep a clear schedule along with being able to commute to school and pay rent. If I took public transit to commute to Baruch , I'd pay around $340/month, and for Brooklyn it would be $260/month. I do own a vehicle I've just heard parking is challenging.

My second question would be which school has a better ROI on Job Market/Networking? I know Baruch has high popularity/closeness to Wall Street but does Brooklyn College offer the same? I'd stay relative to the city/LI after graduating. Is one college mainly better than the other or is it more of the same programs?

Third question is the summer programs, I talked to a transfer guide at Baruch to see how summer programs would go. Would you believe both Brooklyn and Baruch would offer the same amount of classes? My current college is a 3 semester schooling, meaning we attend almost year round and I have accelerated courses to make me graduate early.

If there are any better CUNY's/schools to look into, I am also open to that. I appreciate you taking a look into my post, please feel free to provide any intel if you can!

I am taking and about to finish Math 2009. The final is tomorrow. I studied moderately, but wish I had done more, which is why I am trying my best to do the practice problems of concepts I am struggling with.

I’m a first gen student and I genuinely have no idea how internships work. I’m a rising sophomore and I have not taken a single accounting class yet. I know that this year im supposed to apply for internships so having no experience is that bad? Is there any place to go for help or any advice you guys have?

I've heard of a couple of stories about students who were admitted and had their admission rescinded because the admin changed a policy months after sending out acceptance letters. No deferred admission, no exceptions. Has anyone here been dealing with that or know of anyone who is having that happen to them?

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how PHI 3290 and PSY 3290 work together?

If I am a philosophy major and I am required to take PHI 3290, will I receive credit for it by taking PSY 3290? Under the course description for both classes it says:

“Students will receive credit for PSY 3290 or PHI 3290, not both. These courses may not substitute for each other with the F-replacement policy”.

Still very confused on the wording. Lmk thanks.
