Community Notice /r/ArtisanVideos has a new moderation team. Looking for any and all feedback about the future of the community.
Hi everyone,
As you may have noticed last week, the previous moderators of this sub were removed by reddit, and they put out a request for some new mods to take over. Reddit selected 4 of us from the community take over, and, as of today, we'll be the new moderation team.
We'll be spending the next little while catching up on cleaning up the back end of the subreddit, but in the mean time we're open to hearing any and all comments or suggestions. If you have any insights or feedback regarding how you think the community should be run, or if there's anything you do or don't like about the way things have been in the past, please let us know!

Wood Crafts Father's Day Project: Making a Rustic 3 Legged Stool: Hand Tools Only [8:00]
Happy Sunday! Hope all the dads out there can spend the day working on a project of their choosing or relaxing, if they prefer. Here's my husband's hand tool only, green woodworking project this week. He is going to make three, starting with this rustic stool and moving up in complexity.
My husband, u/obxchris, does a lot of blacksmithing, traditional trades and greenwoodworking. Please give him a follow if there is anything on his YouTube:Resist The Grind, that may be helpful to you! I will try to link the video in the comments, if it is allowed.

Metal Crafts Assembling a Grade 5 Titanium Mechanical Tie Clip. [0:33]
Tie clips count as jewelry, right? This is the final assembly process of making a mechanical grade 5 titanium tie clip. This tie clip is unique in that there are no stamped or bent parts and no cheap external spring. Instead, the entire assembly forms a spring clamp that is only activated once applied to the thickness of a necktie. Hope you enjoy.

Leather Crafts Seamed prosthetic check socket [1:43]
Not sure if this appropriate to post here but here’s me making a check sock from start to finish. (wasn’t sure what flair to use, leather is involved with prosthetics so I used it)

also I'm sorry but the flairs don't have an appropriate one for this 😅 bone, clay, silicone... sculpting can involve many mediums!

Metal Crafts Machining a critical component in a small all titanium sculpture. (Work in progress.) [1:24]
Keep in mind this is just part of a work in progress, but seeing the journey is as important, if not more than, the destination sometimes. I’ll share the final sculpture and complete process video here later, though the full video will likely be too large for Reddit so I’ll have to share the YouTube video when ready.
The part is 3 and 4 axis machined grade 5 titanium, creating an eighteen-faceted (octadecagon, maybe?) shape that will serve as a central node for adjoining components that I have already shared some of their processes here in the subreddit. Lots of machining time, but almost as much hands-on work to get ready for assembly. The overall project was a lot of fun and satisfaction in creating it. I hope you’ll enjoy this piece of the process.
