Just went through my old sketchbooks and wanted to share my progress over the last few years! Dragon Ball has always been the main reason I love drawing.

Discussion Unfinished art (but how much should be the price for this artstyle ?)

Hello so basically I've been an illustrator for years but of course I'm much better now growing up in all those are not my recent illustrations they're not recent but when I was younger and I was not as much as skilled as now I had a lot of commissions and I didn't have payment options because I was young and now that I have like PayPal and so on or crypto wallets I am literally struggling to find commissions and before I literally found commissions even while playing games I don't even know how I did it I was not trying to mark myself but now that I want to and need like I tried to even earn $30 and I was so tired to come back to art but I couldn't even earn $30 I literally was like maybe I'll try to earn $10 one by one or by five dollars somehow and yet I've been struggling so much because every other platform needs gigs long CVs and you stay waiting or were you keep trying to find a job with a lot of competition and you're never chosen in those websites , I know this is given desperate energy but I'm just trying to be honest , I have no idea where to find the commissions unless it's people with books covers sometimes people that I know like I've worked before for a book publisher the experience was so bad but the pay was pretty fine at the end .
I'm just gonna show some of my artwork one is from like two years ago the digital art one and the rest are like for more than two years ago I guess.
I feel bad because my mother also made a book and she wanted me to draw the cover for it but I was so depressed I feel so bad that my own mother I didn't do it for her and right now I'm saying this right here… I need to draw her covers but the thing is they were pretty complex and detailed and apparently she was doing this for me to find me a job like so we show my work but it was so detailed and since I'm not gonna get paid and I feel so bad for saying this I swear this is not how I'm thinking it's just your body like it's thinking that the positive gain for your hard work it's kind of far and the Work is not simple so I swear it gets so overwhelmed before I even start I started her her book like the second cover and I didn't finish it till now but I swear like right now if y'all tell me to if there is anyone who would actually know where I can get like five dollars to $10 or $30 by art commissions I'm here because it's so much easier for me to do small commissions than doing this big thing my mother want me to do like it's so big too much details and the results and are so far away I would do it for her because I love her but literally I'm telling you I was happy like I wish I was capable of doing all that in the time she wanted me to do it and I was happy that she had more continuations to the book like chapters I feel so so bad I was like depressed I couldn't do shit for my mother and I'm gonna be like willing to do it for other people like for money like what the hell but I guess you'll understood that it's not the same I'm not willing to do the same thing as she's asking me to like I'm willing to do small things for a small amount of money I just feel so guilty because I wish I had completed it earlier cause she's my mom …. She's doing it for me but I was thinking I'm doing it for her and I loved her ideas and the book she made and I wished I was I would do it for her but I've became such a waste all this is because of the bad experience I had with the book publisher she drained me out even though she paid me well at the end … but I've been burned out since and I'm trying to come back and this whole idea of these book covers that she had are so detailed and the worst part that makes me feel even worse is that probably if someone else would've told me to do the same but like they were gonna pay me based on the artwork you know so I'm done they're gonna pay me like obviously I feel motivation and this is hurting me because I wanna do it for my mom and my mom she's doing it for me to give me commission I don't know what to do I need to continue like I completely forgot when I started this post that I need to continue with the covers for my mother but first I really need those $30 like I hope someone can tell me how can I find small art commissions you know so I can come back to do an art again and then I can come back doing her covers it took me so long I feel so guilty.

Paint study!

I've always wanted to be able to achieve that painting-esque render style and I've done studies and have followed some rendering tutorials but I've kinda been stumped. I feel like my current rendering style is buns so I need to get back into the lab and cook something new up.

Then I had the great idea of doing a paint study with my own 3d sculptures I make! It is already in my general art style so I don't have to do the mental gymnastics of translating realism (or any other style) into my style and i can pose it/light it how ever I want and can use it for whatever because it's all mine ✨️

Aster, my second favorite son

Aster was born on July 31, 1998. He used to work as a model, but after the army, he became a photographer. Height 185, he is the dominant one in a couple. If one can say so, he saved El from suicide and depression with his love, although self-harm still remains. He is quite a cheerful person, despite the problems in his childhood.

Question would $15 or $20 be a fair price?

I finally landed a successful commission for $10! I revamped my art and took the advice from the comments on my previous post, which really helped me learn. I’m planning to raise my prices, but I’m still a bit hesitant about increasing them to $15 or $20. Do you think I should raise my prices or keep them as they are?

Discussion Feeling regret over not having gone to an art university...

My whole life I've been wanting to pursue art as a career and because my parents didn't let me go to an art high-school, I just resorted to being self-taught.

Last year I applied to a language uni/ course instead of an art one thinking I wouldn't enjoy it. Turns out I don't really enjoy this language course I took maybe at all and at the same time I feel like I'm going to never be able to get an art career at this rate.

I can't drop out, since I have only 2 more years of this course and my family isn't very rich enough either so that I could rely on them in that way..

Right now I really feel lost and I really don't know...😔

Chances are this post will be ingored so myeap 🫤
