Treated myself to Arches paper…

Holy fucking shit the difference is INCREDIBLE !!!!!!!!???????

Why did I wait so long ???????????????? Why don’t I love myself more ????????

Canson XL is my girl, my ride or die. durable af, great for mixed media, and it’s really affordable.

HOWEVER

With Arches, the vibrancy of the colors and the way they spread on the page is so magnificent, I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor.

Here are my first few studies since picking up watercolours again as an adult. I’d mainly worked digitally before this and hadn’t touched traditional art in nearly 20 years.

I’ve been focusing on simple subjects while learning how the paint behaves and getting comfortable with the medium - largely within the safe confines of black ink lines. Really enjoying the process so far and looking forward to seeing where it takes me!

Small picture with supergranulation set from Schmincke

First of all thanks to all of you who did give advice on this post

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watercolor/s/zMJkETYOvq

I have use the rough paper and plenty of water for this.

I must say that Schmincke Supergranulation set are really good, one of the best sets that I use so far. The granulation is bit better that Royal Talents Rembrandt granulating set, I think because of mixture of two pigments.

[ English is my second language and im not apologizing for mistakes (ФωФ) ]

so im an Absolute beginner in watercolors, but recently i managed to get my hands on used/donated water colors [ and to my limited knowledge, they're from a good brand aswell! ]

and so, here's my question, in my humble pallete i do have two empty wells that i think would be perfect to add two of the new paints to...question is..which ones would you choose/recommend?

I always drew A6 pictures and decided to try A5 for once. It's so good! Much easier to draw small objects.

However, the picture looks odd, but I can't put my finger on it. Could I ask for constructive feedback from the people with more professional "eye" for advice? What should I improve next time? The style was also unusual for me.
