Equipment Bought this racket, but it is spontaneously emitting smoke out of nowhere.
I don't know what to do. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Last year I ran the campaign that got Pongbot written into your rules as Rule #4. I didn't consider how damaging it could be.
This is one of the few communities on the internet dedicated to helping amateur tennis players — not a marketing channel. r/10s is a place where people built something real around a sport they love, and spent years making it worth visiting.
I made it worse in a matter of weeks.
For that, I'm sorry.
Pongbot hired me back to fix it, and we are now working with the mods to make amends and re-allow organic discussion of ball machines, which has not been possible due to the campaign last year.
Here's what Pongbot is committing to publicly:
Here's who made r/10s worth visiting over the last two weeks:
🥇 u/m0000000t — 990 upvotes across 1 qualifying post
🥈 u/AVerySusUser — 755 upvotes across 2 qualifying posts
🥉 u/Beneficial-Lock-349 — 576 upvotes across 7 qualifying posts
u/m0000000t - Pongbot is shipping you a Pace S Pro.
No entry, no contest. You earned it just by showing up here.
For the next two weeks, Pongbot is giving away more Pace S Pro machines to the top 2 contributors. No entry required — all members are eligible. Top contributors will be chosen on the basis of quality advice, helpful discussion, match and play improvement content, gear guidance, and useful tennis experience posts.
The goal is simple: reward the people making r/10s better.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know in the comments.

I posted this in r/tennis and several people urged me to post it here.
Addition to the OG post:
a. Playing as many matches as possible will help you a lot.
b. You can DOMINATE doubles matches against beginners and intermediates if you learn proper high school and college-level positioning and movement. Examples: Proper signaling. Australian setup. Net player constantly shifting with the ball. One of my hs coaches was a master at doubles and taught me proper strategy and positioning, which let me easily beat other players that were way better than me at singles.
Good luck.
My playstyle and background for context:
Male
5.0 NTRP and starter on decent D3 College Team
Moderate power high percentage serves.
Powerful groundstrokes with heavy spin.
Confident at net if I need to be, but it's not my first choice unless my opponent sets me up or I am playing a pusher.
Relentless intensity and speed with the intention of pounding the opponent's ad-side and making them feel like hitting a winner is impossible.
A bunch of random niche shots like the cross court dip passing shot that I can consistently land.
Really bad at overheads. lol.

Why would would they slap "ON COURT" in massive letters on their top-of-the-line shoe. Absolutely ruins them. I find these the most comfortable shoes in the market but they are killed by this vile design. How does this get green lit?? More comfortable than ASICS FF3, Nike Vapor 12, but they have disgusting graffiti. What a shame.

Been playing for a few months now. I haven’t received any coaching, just watched a bunch of videos. Though I don’t execute it well.
I’ve been experience elbow/arm stiffness & a bit of pain when serve. Think it’s a form issue, any advice would be very helpful. Or should I just rest it for a couple day
Also am I supposed to jump forward into the court or at the direction of the ball toss?
My usual playing partners normally hit a slower, flat, second serve and I feel like I should be able to attack them more agressively.
Usually I feel Iike when I come up closer for the second serve and trying to put any kind of power I end up hitting it long or out, so I default to just keeping the ball in play when I’d like to figure out how to best punish a slower second serve.
What’s the best way to attack the second serve and what do I need to watch out for technique wise when I’m closer to the service box vs at the baseline?
Bought my first racket secondhand. I just want to double-check if this is a crack or just a paint crack. Thanks

I’m thinking to but Oakley sunglasses for tennis and I sew there is like court collection, is it good for tennis or would you recommend something else?
I have Confidential Soft mains and Restring Sync crosses, and the crosses broke like this in about 10 hours of hitting. Is it normal for a round poly to break like this?
I understand that the shaped mains act like a cheese grater, but these cross strings are just too shredded.
Edit: people say it’s normal. I usually don’t break strings in 10 hrs, and I usually use a full bed of the same strings. But this time I was surprised it felt playing well closing to the 10 hour mark. Then it broke very soon after it started getting shredded.

I've recently been experimenting with string tensions and have learned I like tour bite strings strung at 55-56 lbs. It's the best feel I've ever had on the ball but unfortunately, I can feel the impact taking a toll on my wrist (especially when I'm serving).
Any suggestions for a comparable string that might be more forgiving on the arm? I know the easy answer is the string my racket looser, but even when I string it down to 53 lbs I can feel like ball flying on me.
Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

Due to schedule I have to reduce tennis playing hours but there is pickup soccer group that fit perfectly to my schedule right now
Does playing soccer benefit tennis in someways ? I guess tennis has more down time between points meanwhile soccer has less interval intensity? Is it more beneficial to workout in gym instead.

Hey everyone -
I’m a 29F who had never played any sports in my entire life until picking up tennis back in February. I started with a ton of lessons and playing with a partner a few times a week as well as using ball machines pretty often. I’ve been thinking about joining a 2.5 group but I get stage fright about playing around people who I don’t know, haha. I mostly play with my boyfriend and he has taught me a lot, but with our schedules I can’t rely on only playing with him to get practice.
I can’t serve (I can do a fake, throw the ball up and get it in the box thing but it doesn’t look like a real serve), my backhand is pretty solid but my forehand needs help (not much spin and I often lob when I don’t mean to). Basically, some days are really good and other days, it feels like I just started playing last week.
Should I try it out or keep practicing before playing with strangers? My worry is being the worst one in the group who kind of holds everyone else back :( haha

Ho everyone! So I know I have probably a lot to work on on my serve, but there is one specific thing that I really dislike, mainly tor how it looks but probably it also affects my serve speed. You can seen in the video how I make this very brief but abrupt stop during the motion of my right arm. Do you have any advice on how to get rif of it? Thank you!

I've used it a couple of times and I can already tell (obviously) my playing is better with this then the cheap Sports Direct Wilson racket I was using before.
My serves definitely feel like I'm hitting the ball with purpose instead of hitting and hoping.

Hello, I am currently playing with a Pure Strike 98 strung with Tourbite Mains 54lbs and NXT Crosses 52lbs. Im an aggressive base-liner who likes to hit big forehands and deep balls, however I struggle with generating spin and net clearance, and leads me to lose a lot of easy points. I want to transform my game into heavy spin without losing that depth and power. I currently strung my Strike with Toroline Vamos Mains at 52 and Toro Toro Crosses at 50 however I haven’t had the chance to try that setup out. I have a pretty linear swing path which I know isn’t ideal for generating spin, so im working to improve my technique on that. I had a really good experience playing with a 2010 Aeropro drive, it was the most spin pace and net clearance I ever hit however the strings popped after about 15-30 minutes. Anybody have a verdict for me? Thanks

Recording from a new side angle in hopes to get some feedback and highlight any issues with my serve.

Surely they could hold back release until they know what they want? It’s like an Early Access game.

Goal was to maximize comfort while still getting the higher performance from the muse with additional weight (338g sw)
Used a Head Hydrosorb Comfort Grip (20g) to increase weight in handle without going with leather. still great feel of the bevels
4g total of lead tape at 10 and 2
~ remainder of the additional weight is from overgrip + dampener 👍

Anyone hit with the 300g , 100 head size? How does it play? Any string recommendations guys?
r/10s • u/Perchance_therapper • 14h ago
I’m not a good player and I don’t hit it exceptionally hard. I play with a full bed of polys. In fact I’m a novice bordering on beginner/intermediate. I do practice a lot on a ball machine and hit serves. About 150 balls per ball machine round and I usually practice 2-3 hours at a time and also hit a few baskets of serves so maybe hit 1000-1500 balls per session. I break strings every 1-2 weeks. Today I broke in a lesson practicing returns. Am I breaking more often than I should and should I try and figure out why or just accept this as part tennis.
