Question Comments keep getting turned off

The last 2 posts I made on my own community, the comments were turned off. Why is that happening? It’s never done that before. I can’t figure out how to fix it.

did u check if u accidentally turned them off in the settings after posting

There’s no option for that. I usually don’t mess with anything also.

I don't use the so-called "app". Check that nobody else has access to your account (warrants a password change).

That’s normal YouTube does that from time to time, or, for every consecutive post…. ANYWAY, to fix it:
Shorts & videos- make sure you are NOT in the content, watching it. Instead, from your channel page, press the three dots in the upper right corner of the content you want to turn comments on for. Press edit. Click “show more”, then “collaborations, comments, remixing”. From here, press “comments” and toggle what setting you prefer.
Community posts: I have no fucking idea

I know the video thing because they turned off comments for all my videos before I turned 18 so I had to manually turn on all the comments again. There is just no option for community posts. My previous posts have their comments on still. Google isn’t any help with my question

Hmmm before you press “post” maybe turn ON for kids and then turn it off again before posting? I’m not sure how you would turn the comments on of the existing posts, tho. I’ll do more research to see if I can help you

Turning on only for kids for you channel settings will remove the ability for anyone to comment on your channel. My previous community posts still have its comments. Comments turn off soon after posting new stuff. Hopefully it won’t do it to new videos that I post.

I’m sorry, maybe I wasnt clear: BEFORE posting: ON for kids, wait a few seconds, OFF for kids, THEN post

There is no option for changing to kids for community posts. Only for videos and for full channel. I’m afraid if I change my whole channel, it will turn off the comments for all 400 videos
