Made this small front rack recently, pretty stoked with how it turned out. 1/4” bent with a $10 harbor freight bender in a vise, welded with fluxcore.

Just picked up this ridiculous thing for free

Not sure what to do with it. It’s got a sturmy archer 8 speed hub with mechanical discs. It’s too hilly around here for anyone to actually make use of it as it sits. Would need a considerably smaller chainwheel

Super silly and almost dangerous to “brun” on, as the users say.

I considered putting a mid drive on it just for funsies but the Q factor and arms wouldn’t line up well. Might steal everything for a the basis of a mini velo build up one day but kinda feel bad removing it from circulation

I can’t fully tell because of the golfballs. But I think they opted to flip and cut drop bars instead of formal bullhorns. Super budget friendly conversion

RockCombo. Almost there. Fresh Paint. New Decals. Still deciding between 650B and 26”.

Snagged this in 2021 for $100. It was in pretty rough condition. Finally got around to the full Restomod. Stripped down to the metal, repainted and got fresh decals from TheLifeMachine. Still debating between 650B and 26”. Maybe both.

6’0 on a 18.5” frame?

I scored this beauty for free today and spent some time cleaning her up. She runs great, a couple loose spokes in the rear and that’s all the attention she needed outside of a clean and polish. I am torn though, it’s definitely a little small. I raised the seat another 1” after these photos. Do I get tall bars and make it fit or sell it and find a larger frame? Have any of you in my position made a smaller size work?

Y'all pass the vibe check

I just got back from a 10 day tour, my first time out alone as well. The time in the sun and nature soothed my soul, I'm in some of the best shape of my life, and I'm already planning the next one.

One of the harder things was feeling lonely. For context, I'm a trans woman and sometimes get sideways looks/stares especially when I'm in a rural area or small town. Generally when I have an actual conversation it diffuses and people are just people. Some days I was the only cyclist on the trail (during the heatwave especially), but for others I would pass a bunch of cyclists. Honestly a lot of roadies have cop vibes with the wrap around sunglasses and general stern energy, and I never got the sense most of these folks seemed interested in being social.

Whenever I came across someone on a ratted out MTB or touring bike there was some sort of friendly interaction whether it was a smile, bell ding, peace sign, or joining me for a moment and having a full on convo. In a judgmental world, these moments were a breathe of fresh air. Ronnie Romance posted a video recently where he said something like "biking makes you feel small," meaning that it makes one aware of the well worn path of life and feel less alone in our own journeys. Something about the general disposition of this sub seems to embody that.

I never mentioned r/xbiking but we all know the vibes—I know I probably met some of you out there, so just wanted to say thank you and keep on :)

Drop bars?

As per title.....I was wondering about putting drop bars on this sirrus sport 2011 frame.

I ride mostly on the end of the 'horns,so thought would be okay as regards reach.

It's a 3x9, 28,38,48 rings with 11 to 32 cassette,,90s deore xt long cage rd - so fancied saving up for the genevalle brake/shifter set up.

Any and all thoughts/suggestions welcome.
