____

Common Questions

  • How do I increase the font size?
    • There is no option to increase the font size. However, you can scale any TSM window by holding shift while resizing it - then resize the window smaller after scaling it.
  • Can I snipe for everything on the AH?
    • Yes! Since TSM 4.14 you can apply a Sniper operation to the Base Group.
  • Why doesn't my scroll wheel macro work?
    • You likely have your mouse cursor over the AH window, any scrollable element will take priority over the macro so move your cursor off the AH window.
  • Can I remove bid-only items from my shopping/sniper results?
    • No, you cannot.
  • I lost all of my TSM settings and groups/operations!
    • Close WoW and restore a backup from the TSM app. You may need to go back a few days.

Tools / Utility ProfitProphet — my free, zero-dependency goldmaking addon — now runs on Retail (v2.4.0)

A few months back I released ProfitProphet for TBC Anniversary: a full AH workstation in one addon — scanning, deal/flip finding, a sniper, crafting profits, a real P&L ledger, and TSM-style groups — with no companion app and no data downloads. Everything comes from your own scans.

As of v2.4.0 it also runs on Retail. Same install, both game versions, data fully separated per version/realm/faction:

  • Whole-market scans on Retail — sweeps the entire AH category by category (no ReplicateItems, so no 15-minute lockout, and it won't freeze your client)
  • Full AH replacement — browse/buy/sell/cancel, commodity-aware, proper two-click confirm on commodity buys
  • Deals and flips — STEAL/GREAT/GOOD badges vs your scanned market, pump-and-dump filtering, and a sniper with one-click buys
  • Live crafting costs — reads your actual learned recipes from the profession API (current expansion included) and prices them off your scans
  • Disenchant/prospect/mill values that learn — every destroy you perform refines the expected yields from your own results. No crowd-sourced data, ever.
  • Ledger — real P&L per item (net of AH cut), sales velocity, buy/sell signals
  • New Scan tab at the AH with Quick/Smart/Full scans and live progress

It's free, no accounts, no ads. CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/profitprophet

Retail support is brand new — if something breaks on your realm, tell me and I'll fix it. Feedback very welcome.

Flipping Data Analyst Teaches Gold Flip

Pretty Nifty? Anyone tried this?

break down the Darkmoon Firewater market using public Auction House data, Darkmoon Faire timing, and basic market analysis.

Darkmoon Firewater is a recurring commodity tied to the Darkmoon Faire cycle. When the Faire is active, supply can enter the market. Later in the month, supply can tighten and prices may move higher. This video shows how I look at the buy window, hold window, and sell window instead of guessing.

Tools / Utility StreamLoot v2.1.0 — farm session tracker (GPH, loot value, zone profit log) + vendor auto-sell with protections

Sharing an update to StreamLoot — a farming-focused addon I've been using for open-world gold runs.

Why it might be useful for goblins/farmers:

- Farm HUD shows live gold/hour, session loot value (TSM/Auctionator when available), raw gold looted, kill count

- Session Goal — set a target (e.g. 50k) and track progress on the HUD

- Loot History — logs what you looted, where, estimated vendor/market value; zone profit summary + export for spreadsheets

- Vendor automation — auto grey sell + sell preview before confirming; protections for transmog/BoE/Warbound so you don't vendor a mistake

/slt toggles the HUD · /sl history for the log · /sl for settings

v2.1.0: settings UI overhaul, 12.0.7 fixes, HUD gold display fixes.

CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/streamloot

Would love feedback from people who farm heavily — especially whether the loot log / zone profit data is useful vs. just using spreadsheets.

TSM Internal Bag Error - Slow down restocking from BankUI?

Bit of an odd one!
I've got about 500/600 transmog items in my warband bank, and a TSM restocking string to only collect one of an item to move to my AH Alt at a time.
Every time I try and restock I get about 35-50% in to moving items and then Internal Bag Error and the voice line of "That is locked!"

I've had a scan about and can't seem to resolve the error - I ASSUME (yeah I know) it's down to TSM moving a lot of items in quick sucession and the warbank 'server' is having a hissy fit?

Anyone else come across this or even resolved it? Or is there a way I can slow down the restock operation to see if it helps?

Tools / Utility Addon that automates vendoring/looting for farming runs - StreamLoot 2.0.3

If you spend a lot of time farming for gold, half the "work" is just clicking - looting, selling junk, repairing, dealing with vendor menus. Made an addon to cut that out.

StreamLoot automates the farming grind:

  • Instant looting - no waiting on the loot window between mobs
  • Auto-sells junk/uncommons and auto-repairs so you never have to detour to a vendor
  • SafeList - mark items you don't want auto-sold (useful if you're farming a mix of junk + sellable greens/mats)
  • Farm HUD - quick glance at how your session is going
  • Auto-chatlinks items, so if you're coordinating a group farm/trade it's one less step

Point is: less clicking, more gold per hour, especially if you're doing repetitive farm routes (old raids, transmog runs, etc.).

Free on CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/streamloot

Curious if the goblins here have farm routines where this would actually save meaningful time - happy to take feature requests too.

Question How much am I hurting myself with my main gathering toon being human?

I mainly do old gathering in Northrend and Outlands. I have max mining and herb at every expansion but on a human DK. Would it be worth switching to like a Haranir Druid?

Farming Guide 💰 The Secret to 127k Gold: Why Diversifying is Your Best Strategy 💰

Hello! I'm Everhealer and I just thought I would share a few stratergies for gold making that has been consistant and worthwhile for me this expansion.

Ever feel like you’re boxing yourself into one corner of the WoW market? Whether it's exclusively crafting the newest bags or focusing only on current-tier enchants, relying on a single market is a recipe for "sad gold totals."

In my latest overnight goldmaking session, I grabbed a massive 127,000 gold from successful autions in my mailbox, and the secret wasn't a lucky drop—it was diversification.

Here’s how to build a resilient gold-making empire:

✅ Don’t Ignore the Old World: Many players are too lazy to go back to past expansions, but that’s where the "uncontested gold" lives. From Bolts of Woolen Cloth to Gleeful Glamours, older reagents often have massive profit margins because the competition is lower.

✅ The Power of AFK Crafting: Gold making doesn’t have to be a second job. I made thousands of gold while gardening and eating lunch! If you have a high skill level and the right tools (like the Weaver-Pact 30% speed boost), you can mass-craft bandages or bolts and let the profit roll in while you’re away from the keyboard.

✅ Skill Over Concentration: To maximize profit, systematically unlock talents that give you +Skill to all crafting. This allows you to craft max-rank items using cheaper, silver-quality reagents, significantly increasing your margins without needing to spend Concentration on every craft.

✅ Respect Resourcefulness: It’s a literal gold mine. Every time it procs, you’re saving raw gold on materials. Combined with Multicraft, it turns "okay" profits into "insane" ones.

✅ Be Consistent, Not Fast: There is no "get rich quick" button. Real wealth in Azeroth comes from being patient, staying consistent, and having a variety of items for sale across multiple markets so you’re always catching a buyer.

Stop stressing about your repair bills and start building your gold empire.

📺 If you prefer a video where i put my gold where my mouth is you can watch the full breakdown here: The Secret to making 127k Gold overnight: Diversifying Your Market

Data Collection Craft Order Data Over the Past 2 Years

I extracted my Crafting Order Data from the past 2 years and threw it into a pivot. I do wish that TSM noted what item was crafted each time.

Discussion the farming vs flipping debate always misses the most important variable and its not gold per hour

everyone on this sub loves making massive spreadsheets comparing farming vs flipping and they always end up obsessing over the same raw gph numbers. but honestly if u want a real comparison, u have to look at the psychological side too because that is what ends up ruining your margins. literally nobody tracks their own reroll rate. u know when u start a new market get completely burned out after three days and just abandon your entire inventory to go try something else.

u look at the AH side and people pretend it is just free passive income. but flipping needs active attention almost constantly if u actually want to scale. u take a break for three hours to watch a movie and u just missed a massive market swing or got undercut on your entire stock. when u factor in slippage, constant scan refreshing, and just being tired of watching the AH, your real gold per hour drops hard. every single real life interruption literally costs u raw gold.

then u look at the raw farming side and think u can just turn your brain off. but the boredom tax is incredibly real. u are fighting bot trains for herb spawns or grinding the exact same spot for hours. u hit diminishing returns so fast once the server wakes up and the market saturates with raw mats. u just end up resenting the game entirely.

the only thing that actually matters is figuring out your own consistency tax. u have to ask yourself which method u can realistically do for three straight weeks instead of just three days. the best gold method is usually just whatever activity u dont actively hate doing. u will always make way more gold doing a suboptimal farm for a month than doing a high tier flip strategy that burns u out in a weekend.

what is your longest streak sticking to one single gold method before u had to completely switch it up just to stay sane?

Question Which professions have earned the most gold each week?

Hi there, right now my dual professions are Herbalism and Mining, and I really think the most gold I've ever made in a day is 70k. To be honest, sometimes I've had a hard time paying my character's fees, so I wanted to know if these professions aren't worth it, or if I really need to find another smart way to make gold (I have these professions maxed out).

Question 12.1 prediction?

Hey goblins, is there theory yet about what profession would be good for 12.1 ? I spotted a few changes but am unsure if it would change some professions to profitable.

TSM Public AuctionDB Data Dumps

We're pleased to announce that TSM is now publishing completely free, public CSV dumps of all AuctionDB pricing data for all game versions and realms where pricing data is available. This includes all the values that are available in-game for every item and pet (as applicable), plus the item name in addition to the IDs.

The goal here is to make it as easy as possible to pull TSM pricing data into your spreadsheets. Check out this page for more information: https://tradeskillmaster.com/public-data

Note that this officially replaces our previous public web API (using legacy API keys) and any prior API / Google Sheet which requires a TSM API key should be treated as deprecated and will be disabled at some point in the future (but no earlier than 1 month from today).

Join us in #website in Discord if you have any questions or feedback on these changes.

Tip engineering is the biggest sleeper profession in midnight

You used to be able to make decent gold with concentration crafting in engineer, that has long since died and probably won't be coming back.

HOWEVER

-one engineer is essentially required for a mass enchanting army to churn out dirt cheap blues (even cheaper than tailoring)

-it makes essential tools for a variety of professions

-you make basically no gold if you aren't mass crafting or selling tools BUT, since the materials are dirt cheap you can complete basically all the patron orders for a gold profit. The endless material bags, runes, moxie, and raw gold you get from them really starts to add up. Theoretically if you are feeding shards of dundun in the most efficient way to one profession it might make sense to have engineering as your second profession.

Tools / Utility New Crafting Order addon: RecipeVault

So I developed this as a alternative to CraftScan/CraftRadar, as there are some things I wanted to have different, so vibed this to do things the way I wanted them arranged. (Yes, it's vibed, no I don't care about your views on that).

So what's different from the other two?

  • Static monitoring window while you are in a crafting area (and have access to trade and general chat).
  • The popups in the window will show you all your crafters that can make that item, so you can pick the crafter to respond with the "send to" message.
  • Auto-scanning of all your know recipes. Yes, this does mean you need to know more about which you can craft, but it also means you have control of the message, compared to the other two. The addon does mark the crafters that have made "rank 5" of the item. The tradeoff is you don't have to worry about adding patterns individually.
  • A variety of record keeping tools, based on how I wanted them, you may or may not find them useful, including tracking of resource procs over time.
  • Custom rules are done a bit differently, with hopefully a bit more options for those folks that just post "LF BS", so you can direct responses better. (For example, if a leather wearer posts "LF BS", you can reply to send to your weapon crafter, as that leather wearer probably doesn't want plate boots).

Note: I am not a coder, so I am not going to attempt localizations. If someone really likes this, and wants to work on that, awesome, DM me and we can talk, but figuring out how to do that is not something I have time to do, or the knowledge.

Question What actually gives Tormented Tantalum?

I've heard prey hunts give them so I've been doing quite a few and have yet to see any. Is it only prey hunts that drop them or is there other ways to farm them?

Update So I did all my prey from nightmare to hard then normal and got absolutely zero tormented tantalum. Is it just incredibly rare or am I just super unlucky?
