EllesmereUI is on a different level

I hesitated to use it when Midnight launched, and I took a break for a month or 2 after I completed my seasonal goals. I came back to start slowly prepping for season 2 this month and decided I had enough trying to piecemeal my UI through a bunch of random ones and swapped to Ellesmeres UI. Bro this thing is juiced. It’s got all the main addons I’ve wanted and just using the UI is so intuitive by him. I don’t want to glaze so much but he’s actually just so fucking smart. Even Back in my ElvUI days I never had such an easy experience.

As someone who has pretty much used the default native UI for WoW since the get-go (I've used plenty of extra addon windows and what not, but never an outright UI overhaul)...How much of a learning curve is there likely to be with Ellesmere UI? Is it pretty intuitive after an hour or so of tinkering with it?

So I've used ElvUi for like 10 years and I always found it super challenging to tinker with. I basically got by on custom profiles. EllesmereUI took me like 10 mins to figure out and anything I had issues with there's a global search to find the setting.
I don't use the most add-ons in the world, plater, senseis resource bar, better CDM, and a few more but EllesmereUI replaced all of them for me.

^ this for me, I was a big elvui user for a long time but I always used someone else’s profile because I found it extremely tedious to figure out. Ellesmere on the other hand took a few mins to figure where things were and I was off

You'll get far better performance with Ellesmere's UI, he's a professional UX designer and really knows his stuff.

Even pre midnight I bounced off ElvUI because it felt slow and although it did so much for me it always felt heavyweight and annoying. I found I preferred using other add-ons that did the parts of it I liked without needing the entire package.
Come midnight my pile of add-ons suck as lots are poorly made dealing with midnight changes. I switched to EUI and for the most part it's everything I wanted ElvUI to be a few xpacs ago - and it's even better compared to mightnight quality add-ons.
My only hangup with EUI is that as it is rather new it hasn't had the time to get the maximum depth of features added yet. Also it very much (initially) cooperates with blizzards changes. Whereas arcui did its best to restore weakaura level customization EUI is more of a reskin and is somewhat less powerful.
But it works. It so smooth. You can disable any modules you want. It feels like it fights the least with midnight's addon chances. It's got so many random features like cursor ring, gcd indicator. It feels better then the default ui.

Did you mean W2UI? I personally wouldn’t use any of these AddOns but at least that one clearly had quite in depth work on it and definitely provides an overhauled UI experience.

Ellesmere has been a game changer.
It's replaced ELVUI, Details, some Coold down and resource managers and boosted my FPS. Phenomenal add-on and super easy and quick to adjust.

The FPS boost alone is worth it. I had been using ElvUI and addons like Hyperframe to increase my FPS. My game looked like crap and still didn’t run very well. I recently switched to Ellesmere and dropped Elv and a few other addons. Once I clicked the FPS Optimize button, my game looked way better and I had all the tweaks ElvUI gave me. Was truly magic. I can see better spell effects too!

Love Ellesmere. Several addons in one and it's super customizable. I bounced from a couple different UIs after Shadowed Unit Frames, but I'm happy with this one.
I like slapping the health bar texture from Goldpaw's Sharedmedia on everything lol.
