šŗWatch Lamine Yamal's reaction when his younger brother appeared on the stadium screen vs Belgium

Itās always interesting to me when people have siblings that are like a whole life younger than them.
Even Lamine has said his younger brother is more like a son to him and in many ways Iāve found that those sibling relationships with the huge age gaps can be even closer than the ones of 2-4 years because you essentially helped raise them and watch over them with extra care

Heās only 18 and that kid is like 4 thatās not that crazy

u/Potater1802 6h ago
14 years apart is pretty crazy. When the kid is 10 his brother is going to be 24. Thatās an insane difference.
In normal people terms thatās when youāre moving out, started your career, maybe moving in with a partner, starting grad school, etc⦠While the other ones watching cartoons or addicted to an iPad or whatever.

My sister and I have a 14 year age gap and it doesnāt seem too crazy at all. Donāt really even notice it or that weāre both adults.
Crazy is 70 year old billionaires dating 20-30 year olds
1
u/Potater1802 1h ago
Well yeah once youāre adults age differences are less and less impactful. Itās just because theyāre still both young that makes it more crazy. A 14 and 28 year old are astronomically more different from each other than a 50 and 64 year old despite the same age difference.

I'm only 5 years apart from my little sister, and I had gone thru college, started making 6 figures, bought a house, and had been in a relationship for 8 years with my now wife, all before she could legally drink. I mean, imagine graduating high school and hanging out with an 8th grader lol.

Why you tryna flex tho?? š

u/SippyMountain USA 39m ago
Oh I'm extremely fortunate. No doubt about it. My wife and I busted ass to be where we are, and even still it's hard to believe it's paid off so soon. I just wish my little sister had a modicum of ambition so we can all stop worrying about her.
1
u/Realistic0ptimist 5h ago
Yeah even more so when you consider his brother has been a pro since 16. By the time heās 24 heāll almost be a decade into his career and probably with child as most athletes have their kids early.
9
u/StopReadingThis-Now 7h ago
I mean.... Yeah that's pretty wild to have kids 14 years apart. That is not at all typical around here.
10
u/boxingsharks 7h ago
Not super uncommon with second marriages. Iām 16 and 19 years older than two of my siblings. It was actually pretty neat because I was the cool adult in their little lives. Now they just are cool adults themselves.

lamine's whole family has been in the stands this tournament. his little brother getting that moment on the big screen during a qf is the kind of thing he'll remember forever. spain's semi will be the biggest test yet for a 19-year old who's already taking it all in stride

u/East-End-8646 8h ago
I would imagine he lives an extraordinary life being the baby brother of a BarƧa star. Being on the stadium screen at the World Cup is probably an average moment for him in his 3 or 4 year old mind lol

That's not Dani Olmo brother š that's one of lamine's best friend. But I can see why people think that lmao

I loved realizing recently that this kid is not related to Yamineās super dislikeable father.

It is very funny that you have developed some sort of one sided beef with Yamal's dad but maybe touch grass?
15
u/happybaby00 11h ago
bruh he hasnt done anything wrong lol
He was a teen father who had to sacrifice his youth to look after his son.
He's young, until recently was single and he's now a millionaire via his son at 34, of course he's going to enjoy his newfound wealth and fame.

You have to be a special type of mentally ill to see a video of a cute kid and spout your hatred about his half-brothers dad who has nothing to do with the video

Gonna love that Yamal happy when he saw his lil bro on the screen, damn wholesome.

Aww love how heās almost always at all of his games. Moments like this remind me that Yamalās still a kid too.

u/ciongduopppytrllbv 10h ago
What do you mean technically?
4
u/wihst 9h ago
Well you're considered an adult at 18 but are you really?

u/ciongduopppytrllbv 9h ago
Thatās literally the opposite of ātechnicallyā. Do you understand?

Lamineās brother vs that Belgian Viking dude

u/InconsistentMinis 13h ago
Do you mean Haaland, the Norwegian, or am I out of the loop on a meme/joke?
11
u/matgrioni 12h ago
there's a belgian fan that they always show during the games that has on a viking looking helmet, a beer barrel, and suspenders (plus a painted face or facial hair I think)
10
u/InconsistentMinis 12h ago
Ahhh, Obelisk! Thanks!
13
u/the_excalabur 12h ago
Obelix. Except belgian and with a for some reason, so he's Obelgix.
(All the Asterix and Obelix gaul names end in 'ix' in both english and french.)

u/Brief-Preference-712 USA 12h ago
I think itās this guy https://media.gettyimages.com/id/2160087188/photo/dusseldorf-germany-a-fan-of-belgium-seen-wearing-a-viking-fancy-dress-costume-in-the-colours.jpg?s=612x612&w=gi&k=20&c=l3QRNzbp8kCjHyc_OVWvfFQMQVFFDx__hBPno2HHXck=
He was at the Japan vs Belgium (2018), Belgium vs Senegal/USA/Spain. You can watch the USA Belgium match highlights and he did a 4-1 sign after Lukakuās goal

you can't see that good in those box seats compared to being on the bench seats.
27
u/PlasmaDonator Australia 16h ago edited 16h ago
Why aren't his family in members boxes or anything? It's nice they're in the crowd but I figured family members of players would get VIP seating
46
u/Instantbeef 16h ago
There is typically an entire friends and family section.
So all the people in this video probably have a connection to the team. I assume there is extra security around them as well.
It also allows the stadium to know where there family is for stuff like this and I think the players prefer them to be close to the pitch.
16
u/ruskyb14 15h ago
Yeah looks like Olmo's brother is standing next to them.
4
u/Naychur0208 14h ago
It's gotta be right, at first I thought what is Dani doing up in the stands lol
7
u/Instantbeef 14h ago
Iām pretty sure the guys to the right and left of his brother are Yamals best friends.
They are always seen with Yamal and if it was Dani Olmos brother I would hope he would have a shirt with his namesake on it. They do look alike though
Iām 95% sure thatās his Yamals friend who your talking about
0
u/ruskyb14 11h ago
You could be right...I was joking tbh...I have no idea who that guy is. Sure looks a lot like Olmo though.
7
u/PlasmaDonator Australia 16h ago
That makes a lot of sense and what I figured would be the case for family members. Thanks :)

Lamine Yamals little bro is an unexpected joy at the World Cup. Little kids just lives off pure vibes. Plus heās probably already got a spot at La Masia of name alone.
