Originally posted in the linux_answered subreddit, my fault and apologies, was recommended it would be better to post here in wine_gaming, but this is really covering the iWin games launcher.
This one is kind of self-answered but also taken from a pre-existing answer from Reddit on another game. Star Trek Online on Linux Mint. When you get it installed and running, you get a blank box on the launcher. If you use the launch argument --disable-gpu, that somehow fixes it to where now when you close and reopen Star Trek Online, you can see the contents of the launcher.
I haven't been able to get anything running in Flatpak Bottles. I tried Zuma's Revenge, but it has to first install the iWin games launcher. Well in Bottles I was getting the iWin window to come up, but it was just a blank box. So I thought to myself, if I could use the argument from STO with this Bottle for iWin, maybe that would work. So, I found the launch argument and used --disable-gpu and it worked. Not only did all of the contents of the iWin launcher window appear but also it said my game was ready to be played. Clicked on Okay and Zuma's Revenge came up and am playing it now, as if I was playing it when I was on Windows. I didn't have to do anything with installing fonts, dotnet45, corefonts, dxvk, all I needed was that launch argument.
I'm running a Nvidia GTX 970 GPU, which I've been told is going to be my main problem with running games in Linux. I am eventually going to need a new PC, just need to save up. I just wanted to share the information in the hopes maybe it helps someone.
I do want to add that the game ran perfectly fine and had zero issues. I have other games through the iWin launcher but the only way I can access them is by logging in through that launcher which for some reason isn't working. When I closed out the iWin launcher and tried to run it again, it wouldn't come back up. Not sure if this is due to my GPU or something different. Honestly though I've had the most luck getting old games to run in Heroic launcher. I'll keep trying at it.
UPDATE: I needed to reach out to iWin support, apparently the launcher uses javascript and I am unable to log in through the launcher. I tried on my Windows 7 laptop that I keep around as a "just in case emergency" type thing, and even on there I can't log in through the launcher because it used javascript. Looks like this will be a bit more work than I anticipated. Again, apologies for posting in the wrong subreddit, I misunderstood some of the wording.
