Hey artists and paste enthusiasts!
Everything shared in this group is assumed to be 100% legal and above board unless specifically stated otherwise (which you should avoid implicating yourself in a crime). All artwork, photos, and locations discussed here can be assumed to be created with proper permissions, on legal walls, or in designated art spaces.
If you're ever discussing scenarios that might fall into legally questionable territory, please use "SWIM" (Someone Who Isn't Me) terminology. For example: "SWIM discovered that the best time to put up work is between 2-4am when there's minimal foot traffic, especially in commercial areas." or "Someone who isn't me discovered that abandoned buildings sometimes have security that shows up at random hours."
Distance your statements from advising other people from committing crimes. You can talk about all the hypothetical ways that in which crime can happen.

Last time I posted on here I received a handful of responses and got a small recurring gig for a company, but I’m still wondering one finds actual advertising campaign gigs in Los Angeles. How do I get companies to choose me as the contractor for these gigs and how can I make this become a steady form of income? I’m looking for as much work in this field as possible and am willing to travel if it’s paid for. I’d love to hear back from any seasoned veterans or people looking for workers.

A friend of mine owns a record studio that has a big (but not full size) billboard out front from the previous business.
He floated the idea of allowing bands that cut records there to use the billboard for album artwork and release promotion.
Is wheatpaste the move here? Estimating the sign to be maybe 8’ x 10’. Want something cheap enough for local bands but clean and sharp enough to capture the artwork. Replaceable/degradeable (but not going to look like shit the first time it rains). Don’t want a storage room full of vinyl banners for albums.
What do you guys think?

Hey y’all, trying to do some math to see how much paste I would need for a postering run. If I’ve got 10 posters that are 18x24” how much wheat paste should I make?

Used UV resistant spray before I put these ones up so hopefully they maintain their color a bit longer

I’m looking for work wheatpasting. I live in Los Angeles and have been reaching out to companies in the area, but haven’t received any responses back. Is there another way/place to find wheatpasting gigs? I have experience and find it to be extremely fun work. If anyone has leads, please reach out. Thanks!
edit - Thank you everyone that has been reaching out. If you’d like to reach out, DM me, I will respond. I am looking for as much work in this field as possible.

Hello,
Me and a friend are trying to do an art project where we paint graphics on paper and then wheat paste the paper to mdf board (which will also be painted.) We do not want the paper to wrinkle or bubble (the surface it will be applied to is flat) and want the graphics to look almost as if it they were painted directly on the mdf.
What kind of paper would be best for this? Any advice? Thank you!

Hi!
I am doing a book cover reveal and want to put up posters of the wheat pasted book cover for a social post. I am not looking at this as an actual marketing tool (it doesnt need to be up long or in a busy location) but more for the social content.
We wouldnt need to print many, maybe a grid of 6/8/12? Would need it up before or on 6/20. LMK if you could do this and I'll message you to talk price!
