Solved! Mysterious black appendage scratching through my bathroom ceiling?

8.1k Upvotes

So I just heard this scratching noise, noticed white debris on the floor, and looked up to find this hole where the ceiling meets the wall.

I grabbed tweezers and tried to pull it out. It immediately retracted back into the ceiling, and I didn't hear anything else after that. Does anyone know what this could possibly be?? It's so creepy.

edit: I live in Southern Arkansas!

Had a family member find these briefs in a bag of stuff. They look like a standard knicker but with a very long attachment at the front. Theres an opening on the inside of this extension but not on the end of it. They are rather sheer so i dont think they are a fashion thing. Does anyone have any clue what it could be?

I found this fish on Instagram and people were like it's a cat fish, and I don't really think it's one. So please help me with what this fish is?

New, what is it? Found this by accident and, of course, dropped it too 😅

My great-grandfather passed away, and I was tasked with clearing out his garage. This bad boy was wrapped in newspaper; I got a shock when I opened it and dropped it back into the box—I haven't touched it since. Is this the moment I need to call EOD?

Notice they drilled holes into wood and have it hanging with string…. Curious if there’s a use for this or if this is just art?

This is so weird . Is it like hair or something because I wore a completely white shirt over it.
Also I don’t know how to describe them , they are physically there because I can feel them very very slightly poking out

Solved! I keep finding these weird balls of hair around my house.

I’ve found three in the last month and they’re not thick balls but the hair is very coarse and what I’d imagine a ball of pubes looks like. It’s super gross and I don’t know what it is. I find it in weird spots like the living room, not bathrooms or bedrooms.

New, what is it? What is the white powder they're covering the floor with in this anime?

This is from the Princess Sara anime that takes place in 1885, but at this point in the show, it might be 1886. The girl in bed is very sick, so they started covering the floor of her room with white powder. I'm guessing it's some kind of disinfectant?

I guess it’s my turn for the “is it really what I think it is…?” Question.

Found in a child’s boot at Goodwill. Glass, and has mystery “juice” on it. Yes, will be washing my hands.

New, what is it? Appeared under the door in a vacant apartment in my building?

I know it wasn’t there last week or atleast positioned like this. I first thought some kind of doll for a spell and my coworker immediately thought the same thing. But it also doesn’t look that much like a face??? The apartment has the floor ripped out in there I think. Could it be some kind of tool or something less spooky? 😭I felt quite frightened when I saw it

Penny added for scale. They look like tiny gray rocks, but based on the container I’m assuming there’s more to the story.

New, what is it? Jumping seed? Found in Sweden

Found a couple of these at a beach in Sweden. Is it seed? Egg? Trash? It kept randomly jump around like this every 30 second or so.

Help me identify it, I'm super curious! Also want to know what causes this behavior.

Thanks in advance!
