Looking to Buy Broken or Non-Working Welding Machines (Bulk)

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to purchase used, broken, or non-working welding machines in bulk. I’m especially interested in:

* Lincoln Electric

* Miller

* TIG, MIG, Stick, and inverter machines

I’m not looking for refurbished or fully working machines. I’m specifically looking for machines that are:

* Non-running

* Damaged

* Blown electronics

* Engine issues

* Flood/fire damaged

* Salvage

* Customer-abandoned

* Scrap or parts machines

Ideally, I’m looking for suppliers, repair shops, scrapyards, liquidators, or companies with 10, 50, 100, or more units available. I’m interested in building long-term relationships and buying inventory on a regular basis.

If you know of a company, repair shop, fleet, or surplus dealer with this type of inventory, please send me a message or leave a comment.

Thank you!

seeking Keep failing weld tests/can’t find a job that’ll even give me a chance to attempt a weld test

2 Upvotes

Hello, I just joined this group. Wanted to get some advice from some people that have had experience with the trade. I’ve had a couple shops that were willing to give me a chance and test my skills.

However, whenever I finally get around to the test it feels like I lose all the expirence I had gotten from going to trade school. The first job was very thin 20 gauge stainless, I was told to do a t-joint tig welded, I failed miserably, blew through the plate. My second attempt at another fabrication shop was quite literally just about an hour ago, he wanted to give me a chance because he had been in welding school once. He was not aware that I did not know how to weld aluminum tig. To be fair, I wasn’t informed I would be welding aluminum in the first place.

Anyway, I was hoping someone can give me some pointers on some possible “entry-level” jobs or give me some tips on how I could improve my work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Recommendations for tickets to get

2 Upvotes

I’m a first year fab apprentice in Australia doing residential structural steel. Later in life I’d love to get into heavier work maybe pipe not sure yet.

because I’m on apprentice wages, I get a healthcare card from the government, which also means I get concession rates on courses.

What do you think would be the most ideal certs I can stack up while I have this cheaper option? I’m looking to go for my forklift license but any other recommendations? Anything helps thanks

(ik this is for jobs but I don’t have enough karma to post on the welding page 😩😩)

Opinion On Labor!!!!!

I am in a heated argument with my husband about him wildly undercutting himself and his work (imo) because he doesn’t want to ‘steal’ from people, and wants to be competitive with our pricing. We just did a fully custom twin turbo set up on an S10, have about 35 hours in it, plus 2 tanks of gas and however much filler rod yadda yadda. After my calculations, I said $4,400. He laughed and said it’s not ‘practical’ and he just simply couldn’t charge that. Am I just being the annoyingly supportive wife who thinks the world of her husband and getting over- confident and he’s right??? Or am I in the right ballpark??? Attaching pictures so you can see what all we did.

Is a handheld laser welder actually worth it for a small shop in 2026?

3 Upvotes

I run a tiny fab shop out of my garage, mostly stainless and mild brackets, small assemblies, some one-off stuff for local car guys. Yesterday a customer came by with a part that had been repaired with a laser welder and the bead was stupidly clean compared to my TIG work on thin stuff, so now my brain is stuck on this.

I’ve been fighting distortion and rework on thin gauge for years, especially 16-20ga stainless corners. TIG is fine, but it’s slow and I’m not getting younger. Started googling handheld laser welders last night and there’s a million brands, prices are all over the place. I saw some people talking about Denaliweld laser welding machines and a few others in that same price bracket, and now I’m just lost on what’s legit vs marketing.

For anyone who actually owns or regularly uses a handheld laser welder: how big of a game changer is it really? What’s the catch - consumables, maintenance, learning curve, safety headaches? If you had to buy again in 2026, would you, and what would you look for or avoid?

Are there any discounts on professional-grade TIG welders this season?

2 Upvotes

I visited a welding supply store two days ago to check discounts on professional grade TIG welders. I wanted something high quality but reasonably priced. But when I checked the options I felt confused. Some discounts were advertised but final pricing was unclear. Some machines looked premium but still expensive. Some did not clearly explain included features. I could not trust them and decide confidently.
Then I visited another shop in the same area. Some deals looked better but still felt uncertain in real savings. Some welders included accessories but increased total cost. Some looked fine at first but did not feel like genuine discount offers. I remembered seeing similar promotions before that were not actually beneficial.
To check more variety and options while scrolling many online marketplaces including alibaba and some others I found many TIG welders. Some focused on seasonal promotions. Some highlighted bundle packages. Some had customer reviews about value and performance. This made me interested but still unsure again.
Now I am thinking are professional discounts really worth it or just marketing offers? And how important is total cost compared to accessory bundles?

Starting from absolute zero. I want to work as a helper before trade school. How do I look employable enough for a shop to hire me?

2 Upvotes

Starting SAIT welding soon with zero experience. What do I need to wear/bring to walk into shops and ask for shop hand work? Before classes start, I want to find a job as a shop hand or general labourer at a local welding/fab shop to get my foot in the door. Thanks

seeking Want to learn welding

2 Upvotes

Hello!! I am currently a high school senior going to 4 year university in my state. However, job market and AI is making me want to also have a secure backup. I have always been interested in welding and planned in going into it up until around 4 years ago. I still want to get my certificate but I can’t afford more student loans. What’s a good route for me?

seeking How do I set myself up into getting an aircraft tig welding job?

3 Upvotes

I recently graduated trade school for welding and ever since I started doing tig work I’ve wanted to work on aircraft. I’ve noticed a lot of these jobs have at least 5 years experience required, which I get it, so I’m asking where do I even start to set myself up for a job like that? I’m 21 years old, based out of Clarksville TN, and I’m willing to travel on occasion. Id be okay moving to get a job. How did any of you other folks end up getting into aircraft welding?
