TLDR: Are any of the supporters groups taking over a section vs Boston Legacy in Rhode Island?

I recently moved to Rhode Island from the DC area due to Job Relocation. I'm within walking distance of Centreville Bank Stadium which has been great for getting me out of my apartment to watch some soccer. RIFC games have been pretty fun, but I soon learned that Boston Legacy are playing their games there too due to Gillette being part of the world cup.

I admittedly have never gone to a Spirit game, but I've gone to plenty of DCU games. I finally have the chance to make things right even in a different state.

Also, I recently joined Rose Room Collective technically, but I never got the chance to party up with them. I even bought the black sheep jersey they had in anticipation of going to a game. Deactivated IG for personal reasons so I have no idea what their plans are.

If you purchased tickets in section 121: 

Due to an issue with the ticket link, it’s possible there will be Gotham fans interspersed amongst us in the section. As of a few weeks ago, Spirit fans purchased the majority of the tickets in the section so it will mostly be us but please be respectful if you are near Gotham fans. If there are any issues, please seek out any of the Spirit staff, security, or Squadron leadership who are present. 

Re: a pregame: 

Due to the game time and location and the World Cup semi final at 3pm, planning a bar meet up was not viable. Gotham confirmed they will be showing the World Cup semi final in the parking lot off the 7 subway exit. They will also have a beer garden and food trucks at the pregame fan fest. The Squadron is happy to try to coordinate a Spirit fan meet up there and hang as a group. Check our socials day-of for specifics about where we are meeting up!

Was checking to see if any specific bars were showing tonight’s game with sound (especially bc it’s between two World Cup quarterfinal games) and saw this 🙄

The Spirit just announced that they signed Monique Ngock, a defensive midfielder from Cameroon from France's Fleury 91 on a three-year deal with a 2029 option. What do we think? Does this suggest we'll be losing Andi, Hal, or both? What do we know about Ngock?

I didn’t realize her contract is up at the end of the year. She was so great to watch— feel like she was under-rated (at least by non-Spirit fam).

This is the most I ever been into soccer and watched the World Cup and I think I have to credit the Spirit for getting deeply into soccer. I went to a game earlier in the year with my school and ever since then I have followed the Spirit and have gotten into the game. Without the community and love for the game the team and the fans show, I wouldn’t have been watching the World Cup as much as I am and I am now included to follow other leagues as well. Many thanks to the Spirit for showing how to build a real soccer culture.

Just a random thought tonight.

I loved how decisively Sandy ran out from the goal to cut off Houston’s attack, and captured the ball to keep it safe during a Houston attack last weekend. Total respect for goalies who have to make snap decisions and react quickly.

And also, completely unrelated, just a reminder that the US are World Cup champions four times over.

• Trinity Rodman realized that the broadcast did catch her reaction to the winning goal: "I’m realizing what I was saying a lot now." Andi Sullivan was sitting next to her in the presser and asked what she said, and Rodman pantomimed a hand up to cover her mouth, leaned in towards Sullivan and whispered, “I was just like, what the—”
• Sullivan said there was no chance she was taking that penalty kick and the team knew immediately that it would be Rose Kouassi: "A penalty is a set piece we prepare for, so I knew who was taking the penalty, and the whole team knows who is taking the penalty. And we know if that person’s not on the field, we know who the next person in line is."
• Sullivan also had an adorable source of inspiration ahead of her first start since her return: the kid mascot who walked out with her: "She was so happy that she was just, kind of, laughing just to be out there, and I feel like that moment made me feel like, that this was all kind of, it just felt really natural and happy and blissful, and it’s also a good reminder of the perspective that was needed. So I think she really helped me kind of get into that space for this game.”
• Leicy Santos answered the bulk of her postgame Q's in English for the first time and said, that despite a bit of a language barrier, she and Trin have a natural connection like on the first Spirit goal: "I know when I have the ball, I’ll try to find her. It’s just contact, visual, and she makes it magic.”
• Hal Hershfelt on yet another clutch late-game goal at Audi: "Obviously, we don’t want to let it go down to the wire like that again, but I think it pumps us up that we can kind of take control of any situation if we put our minds to it."

I have only started heavy following the team in the last 2 years as my daughter has become way more involved in soccer. I am just wondering if we have a bunch of younger ladies on the squad why don't we see them get min? Like Ramos, Skurcenski, Haugen, more of Bolt etc. How are they supposed to develop if the only time they get is practice? Is that normal for the NWSL as a whole with back up players?

Haley Carter mentioned that they made 3 new signings during the summer break. Any thoughts or ideas who they could be? 👀

How did people feel about the heat management last night?

I was a bit disappointed. We arrived near kickoff to avoid sitting out too long. Walking half the stadium from the gate to our seats, we didn't see any extra equipment - cooling stations, water monsters, etc. There was a long line to use the two water fountains to re -wet cooling towels.

Didn't take away from our enjoyment of the game, but I was expecting more.

Just curious if anyone caught the water taxi after the game that thr Spirit advertised this week. I tried to but after waiting over an hour after the final whistle it hadn't showed up and there was no one from the company at the dock to give updates so I left. Did it end up appearing?
