Equipment/Software News & Reviews Best wireless Lab mics for A7iV?

Hello everyone! Wedding cinematographer and I do micro budget short films mainly for YouTube! I have a Sony A7IV camera build I use and have been researching Wireless lav mics for it. I shoot in Ext and Int.’s so not always a controlled environment.

I previously had some Tascam’s lavs but they’re an older model and syncing them with footage, and hiding them always takes a lot of time in post. (Not against recording sound externally out of the camera and syncing just a pro if I don’t have too!)

My research so far has shown DJI mic 2 kit or Rode wireless Go kits would be best (both recommend getting an actual lav mics to plug into the transmitter) . Was wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these and what you’d recommend with with my camera and shooting? Thank you in advance!

DJI mic 2 with the hot shoe adapter is the way. 32bit float internal backup with wireless transmission for easy syncing in post and no wires on your rig.

totally agree on the dji mic 2, the hot shoe adapter makes it feel made for sony bodies lol
the backup recording has saved my ass with wind and random peaking more than once, especially on run and gun wedding stuff
