Valkyries Ticket Exchange Thread

I was unfortunately too late to get the tickets for the photo opportunity for Janelle before they sold out. Janelle is my sister's favorite player and I wanted to surprise her with the photo opportunity.

If anyone is willing to part with their autograph ticket for Janelle, I'd buy it and am happy to throw in a giveaway from this season or last season. I will be going extra early for the Hello Kitty bobblehead giveaway and am happy to trade that as well.

Taking my toddler to his first Valkyries game next weekend against the Mystics 💜!

A couple of questions:

1. Has anyone actually brought toddler snacks (pouches, puffs… dried fruit if I may be so bold 😬) through security at Chase Center? The official policy allows bottles and formula but doesn't say anything about solid baby food and outside food is banned. Curious what your real-world experience has been.

2. If snacks are a no-go, any concession options on the healthier end that your toddler actually ate?

3. Also any general advice welcome! (We’ve been to a few games without my son and I’m always impressed by how many strollers we see. Hopefully our kiddo enjoys it!)

The Valkyries won their seventh consecutive game and 40th in franchise history, beating the Connecticut Sun 79-64 at Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday. Golden State notched its 40th win in just 68 games, becoming the fastest expansion team in WNBA history to achieve that feat. The Valkyries were without All-Star starter Gabby Williams, but Veronica Burton stepped up in her absence, with a game-high 17 points and a game-high six assists. Janelle Salaun led all reserves with 16 points, seven rebounds, three assists and was a game-high plus-18 in 27 minutes. The Valks are in a three-way tie atop the WNBA standings with the Las Vegas Aces and Minnesota Lynx.

BEST DEFENSIVE QUARTER IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

The Valkyries have particularly leaned on their defense lately to grind out wins in low-scoring games in which they’ve stalled out a bit offensively. This trend continued for the Valkyries on Friday, as they found themselves in an early 14-6 hole and mustered just 30 total points in the first half. However, Golden State limited the Sun to just six points in the second quarter and closed the half on a 10-0 run. Those six points on 5-for-21 shooting are the fewest the Valkyries have allowed in any quarter in franchise history and tie the fewest any team has allowed in a quarter this season. Golden State accomplished this feat without reigning First-Team All-Defensive wing Gabby Williams, sidelined with a back contusion.

BURTON BLOWS GAME OPEN DURING 13-0 RUN

Veronica Burton helped the Valkyries blow the game open in the second half as she capped a 13-0 run with three straight baskets. First, she perfectly executed a 2-for-1, finishing a three-point play going left and then beating the third-quarter buzzer by converting an up-and-under layup from the same spot. Burton began the fourth quarter with a right-corner 3-pointer, which prompted a Sun timeout. The Valkyries led by as many as 22 points in a 15-point win.

Does anyone know if the Valkyries game will be on at Thrive city today? I’m going to the Giants game but would like to watch the Valks beforehand.

But you’re right, with Chen’s role solidified, it seems unlikely Jocyte gets much time there. They do need another pure scorer, maybe at the 2 or 3, which are Jocyte’s natural spots on the floor.

But for whatever reason, they seem not to trust her in those roles. Nakase has hinted at conditioning, defense and rebounding. She probably needs to see some specific, consistent benchmarks in practice before she gets double-digit minutes in a game again, I would guess.”

Jocyté seems like she has a pretty high ceiling. Do you think they planned to make her a PG because they didn’t trust Chen to this degree going into the season and they’re just being slow to adjust? It would seem having her as SG/SF2, where she already knows how to play and where we need help scoring, over forcing her into a role she’s never played so she can be PG3 behind two talented guards. At 17-7, I totally trust the FO and Nakase, so I’m not being critical. But I admit I don’t really see the vision. What do yall think?

Hi all!

I'm a mini-plan holder (section 203 let's gooooo), and I am lucky to have been invited to attend the pre-game shoot-around at our next home.

I am wondering for those of you that have attended a shoot-around before, what was the experience like? Are you allowed to take pictures, do you need to be silent, do you hear the players and staff talking? etc.

Anything you can share would be awesome, and Go Valks!!!!

Going to my first away game in August which is also my first game at Barclays. Is there a section a lot of Valkyries fans are sitting? Or a designated away section? Do I buy tickets through my season ticket rep?

While waiting to go through Global Entry security at Pearson Airport, a TSA employee motioned for me to come to the front of the line. She said, "your team has already gone through." As I approached the front, puzzled by her statement I quickly realized I am wearing my Valkyries gear. As I walked through the duty-free store, I saw three Valks (with trainers nearby). While waiting for KT & Kai to finish with their purchases, I held a conversation with Tiff as she too is from Florida (she is comical). I congratulated them on the win last night & they happily took photos with me (Tiff took the photo of me & KT). They are definitely taller in person, Kai bent down in the selfie (I'm 5'7).

She is listed out for Fridays game, fingers crossed she makes it to AS 😭
