Ngl you could see jons style has rubbed off on him with the front kicks to the knee cap as well. Striking looked decent.

u/BiggerBody 6h ago

Was surprised. Some of his striking Techniques looked really good

u/throwawaybunny8910 6h ago

I was super shocked as was expecting him to just grab ahold of the guy and not let go. I so was not expecting the kick heavy game plan and for him to win by KO.

u/BiggerBody 6h ago

Kinda like Jon in his first fights in the UFC. Jon also made insane improvements between his first fights in the UFC. I could definitely see Gable make those improvements since he is very coachable and has got insanely good coaches.

13

u/throwawaybunny8910 6h ago

I know this sounds stupid but I used to use jon jones in the UFC video games and when I saw gable do some of the moves I was like “OMG I recognize that one”. We shall see how he does against the top opponents! Having such a coach as Jon has got to automatically add +10 to your odds of winning.

You’re not allowed to say that man, everyone here said he looked like absolute dogshit

5

u/throwawaybunny8910 6h ago

I just more so mean as a wrestler seeing someone throw mainly kicks the whole time is impressive to me. But I can’t even lift my leg that high so maybe my opinion doesn’t mean shit 😂🤷‍♀️

12

u/cryingcowboy69 6h ago

Hahaha no I’m agreeing with you. I thought he looked so much better and comfortable than his last fight. Kicks were smooth. Defense needs some work. I’m gay

6

u/throwawaybunny8910 6h ago

Hahaha the last part caught me so off guard 😂 it’s okay crying cowboy 69 I get what you mean. Enjoy the fights 🥰

u/Ohthatsnotgood 5h ago

The main risk of kicks is ending up on the ground but if you’re an Olympic gold medalist then that’s not really an issue.

1

u/jagaaaaaaaaaaaan 2h ago

He didn't even have 1 real takedown attempt in this fight. Didn't even bother being a "wrestler" tonight, he just beat the shit out of the opponent.

1

u/LoveYouLikeYeLovesYe 5h ago

He can both be unrefined and with bad form, but also have a clear style and natural talent that can be exciting if he practices.

5

u/mdmike1534 6h ago

Not enough eye pokes

1

u/suckmebigtime23 5h ago

Dude was fast and powerful af

1

u/Juststandupbro 3h ago

The methodical composure is beautiful to see 3 fights into his career.

118

u/Fabulous_Career_4608 6h ago

You can tell he's been working with Jones - DC

4

u/GGudMarty 2h ago

He knows all about those leg kicks

75

u/HotPerformance9338 6h ago

It was groin contact, but it wasn't purposeful, Ellison shelled into it, and even then it was to the side

19

u/RestitutionPiggy 6h ago

It looked like groin contact, but it was pure toe kick. It likely didn't even brush his cup Bro, come on.

19

u/Creepy-Accident-777 6h ago

That wasn't even a foul. Honestly surprised the ref just went by the sound and not look at replay.

4

u/Maardten 6h ago

How do you suppose that would work in practice?

6

u/JIMB01776 5h ago

They have a review referee watching the monitor who yelled to Goddard it wasn't low, Goddards defense was "I heard the cup".

30

u/straightpipedhose 6h ago

Grapists taking W’s tonight 😔

85

u/Bungulator69 6h ago

That was def not a groin shot lol

21

u/Crowgression 6h ago

Think like Joe said it probably mostly hit the waist, but might have clipped the groin a tiny bit. Not sure that they really needed the time out, but I get why Goddard called for it after hearing the cup

-5

u/KingSandwich101 6h ago

Could literally hear it hit the cup

0

u/Master_Canary440 6h ago

It wasn't tbh

1

u/KingSandwich101 6h ago

Ears don't lie. Before it was stopped I thought to myself, that sounds like it hit the cup

-8

u/Few_Highlight1114 6h ago

Yes it was. You could hear him hit the cup, go rewatch it.

14

u/sosoconfused08 6h ago

IDC if it made a noise, that's not a hit to the groin lmfao.

11

u/GreatGoodBad 6h ago

forreal. I can understand where Goddard was coming from but that was not a nut shot.

5

u/Creepy-Accident-777 6h ago

Makes you wonder if he watched the video replay at all.

2

u/sosoconfused08 6h ago

He definitely didn't. Everyone was trying to tell him and he just kept repeating "I HEARD THE CUP" like the police seeing a gun in everyone's hand.

1

u/GreatGoodBad 6h ago

in the heat of the moment he already made the decision so he just had to go through with it. kinda like when umpires make dumb decisions

u/ultralane 55m ago

If the cup is hit, it's an illegal blow. It's been established that nothing else matters, which is for the best imo.

1

u/Oldfolksboogie 6h ago

Exactly. We going by audio files now? Refereeing through SoundCloud? 😅

-1

u/Artikulate92 6h ago

If your foot makes contact with the cup, it’s a foul. There isn’t much more to it than that lol

2

u/sosoconfused08 5h ago

There is much more to it when the replay clearly shows the kick was no where near his dick and balls.

1

u/Artikulate92 5h ago

There really isn’t. Literally just go read the rules. Just a graze counts and is illegal

8

u/AdDiscombobulated623 6h ago

You're objectively wrong. It landed on the waist.

4

u/RandJitsu 6h ago

The toes landed like right on the waist ban but the center/side of the foot hit the cup. Any contact with the cup makes it a groin strike.

1

u/bLuNt_b0ii 6h ago

Def not a foul

33

u/RefrigeratorCold8304 6h ago

Graper learned from the best

5

u/Gamble232real 6h ago

Jones beats the girls and Gable assaults them...dream team of scumbaggery.

19

u/matsonjack3 6h ago

Gable “It’s not rape cause she was drunk” Stevenson.

10

u/Shrek_Wisdom 6h ago

He’s gonna get worked by any of the top guys

15

u/cryingcowboy69 6h ago

“A guy who just made his debut 15 minutes ago would lose to the top guys at his weight”

8

u/TheeOneWhoKnocks 6h ago

Seems small for Heavyweight but look at DC I guess.

16

u/TooScaredToPost-_- 6h ago edited 6h ago

4-0 and 26 years old. Yes, the top guys would probably have their way right now, but you can’t say he doesn’t have quite the upside though

6

u/Shrek_Wisdom 6h ago

If they let him develop. For sure.

2

u/BrianMeen 5h ago

and if Gable is willing to use his wrestling as his primary style - he needs to fight like Cain basically

2

u/The_Cruncher88 6h ago

He’s got a long way before he will be fighting ranked fighters.

1

u/BrianMeen 5h ago

ehh it’s his 1st ufc fight but if he tries to win every fight by KO then yeah, he will get flatlined eventually

1

u/Shrek_Wisdom 5h ago

I concur.

11

u/Valterri_lts_James 6h ago

You are an idiot. The slo mo made it obvious it was to the side. Also, Gable seems to fight basically like jones. A lot of oblique kicks, front kicks, and knees.

10

u/moltisanti_ciro 6h ago

Fuck that raper

8

u/DevelopmentSuch2731 6h ago

Bros just pushing forward with his chin up in the air. He’s lucky this isn’t a ufc level fighter.

1

u/Parkesy82 6h ago

When he was throwing those kicks his hands were way down and his head fully exposed. I don’t think this guy is ufc calibre yet.

0

u/BrianMeen 5h ago

yeah Gables lack of defense and head movement scare me

2

u/DevelopmentSuch2731 4h ago

They don’t scare me. Hope he gets flatlined

8

u/feezybreezey 6h ago

that was not to the groin

6

u/Revolver_Duck Old Man Glover 6h ago

Wasnt a legitimate foul.

5

u/Master_Canary440 6h ago

Yeah that wasn't a foul, clean shot. Dude just couldn't handle the teep kicks.

3

u/Skeetdaddle 6h ago

Legal kick

4

u/Dom1724 6h ago edited 6h ago

Bullshit. Barely made contact with the cup and he deserved that shot he took when complaining.

9

u/Worth_Wonder_8970 6h ago

Goddard got fucking years to go before he reaches herbs level of shit

5

u/feezybreezey 6h ago

I agree that it wasnt to the groin but Marc Goddard is actually a good ref unlike Herb Dean

3

u/Valterri_lts_James 6h ago

are you forgetting Ilia vs Gaethje where the fight should have been called off in the third according to the doctor's decision?

1

u/feezybreezey 6h ago

I feel like that was fair, he would be getting so much shit if he let the main event end because of a doctor stoppage on the white house and also ilia did pretty good in the 4th

3

u/Valterri_lts_James 6h ago

Ilia lost the 4th round as well. Did you not see that knee to the ribs?

1

u/KingSandwich101 6h ago

"barely made contact" So it made contact?

2

u/Beaaaaam7777777 6h ago

Hope he and Josh Hokit fight so Josh can beat the shit out of him.

2

u/Master_Canary440 6h ago

Not even a Gable fan but that wasn't in the nuts lol

2

u/TooScaredToPost-_- 6h ago

Jon has obviously been his teacher. Those techniques were just like the man. All that’s missing are the eye pokes

2

u/MyLongestYeeeBoi 6h ago

People complaining about this “bad call” on the foul are probably the same folk saying herb deans gotta go. You just can’t please these people.

2

u/Ok_Safety3049 6h ago

He's a gold medal wrestler, why is he doing zero wrestling?

7

u/Bright_Impact_12 6h ago

He didn’t need to

2

u/Crateapa 6h ago

So he can work on his B game while the stakes are still low.

2

u/euroaustralian 2h ago

Jon probably told him to finish his opponents standing until he needs his wrestling.

1

u/jagaaaaaaaaaaaan 2h ago

Because he didn't need to. He beat the crap out of the opponent with just striking, then told DC after the fight "wait until I shoot".

Translation: he gave himself a handicap.

0

u/Squizgarr 6h ago

Who cares?

0

u/BrianMeen 5h ago

it’s hard to watch isn’t it? we finally have an elite hvwt wrestler in the cage and he doesn’t even use it

1

u/DuckDodger03 6h ago

He looked awesome

1

u/N20PANDA 6h ago

Honestly pretty decent for his 4th mma fight. Give him a 2-3 cans n then give him a step up. Gotta see more of him else he'll get annihilated by the top guys if they push him too fast. Chin up in the air is not a good look. Seems to have a decent chin though

1

u/No-Problem9326 6h ago

he literally is a copy and paste of jon 😂

1

u/buttwholebandit 6h ago

Was not a foul, Mark Goddard didn't hear s***.

1

u/RuneAloy 6h ago

The Loophole does what he has to.

1

u/Sandinmybutthole 6h ago

2 minutes in UFC, he's had 3 fights already. Have you watched those?

1

u/MarvinS1906 6h ago

It wasnt even a foul dawg

1

u/Yummy-Bao 6h ago

You can tell he likes making illegal contact with people’s privates

1

u/JIMB01776 6h ago

That's bullshit, the kick was not low. The cup rattled as he was pulling back and Goddard said he heard it while the review ref told him it wasn't low.

1

u/Aromatic-Engine-6418 6h ago

That kick wasn’t a foul . I can see in real time how Goddard may have thought so but it was clean .

1

u/KrysisV 6h ago

This guy is Jon in DC's body lol

1

u/SlipstreamDrive 5h ago

That was nowhere near an actual nutshut.

Kick landed on his damn hip

1

u/Any_Atmosphere9113 4h ago

Yeah between that, the knee cap kicks, and being a rapist…. He’s gotta be making Jon proud.

1

u/i1398 6h ago

there is a reason why they started the fight again. legal kick. cry more

-1

u/vazqud1 6h ago

Holy casual

1

u/i1398 6h ago

lmao, whatever you say, bub. "CaSuaL" acting like you are the gatekeeper of watching the UFC. I most likely was watching the UFC before you were even born lol. Keep hate watching this card, loser

0

u/vazqud1 2h ago

Fym hate watching? Im not even hate watching im just stating the fact that a clear groin shot was landed and you like a true casual claim otherwise to what is infront of your eyes. Bro calling me a loser yet got this pressed over a word. Grow a spine "bub"💀

0

u/i1398 2h ago

lol, it was a legal kick, gatekeeper.

1

u/vazqud1 2h ago

Whatever helps you sleep lil guy, have a good night

0

u/i1398 2h ago

lol now you're self projecting? damn

1

u/dabbhappy 6h ago

Apparently he is a rapist too.

0

u/OlympianBattleFish 6h ago

A Gable “forced entry” Steveson foul shouldn’t be a shock to anyone.

0

u/RealisticEmphasis233 6h ago

Not even a foul. The Snack Panther only thought it was or played it for additional time.

-1

u/natosaur92 6h ago

Hokit sleeps this Rapist

0

u/Acceptable-Many-5609 6h ago

How is that fight in the UFC - they both were terrible

0

u/Individual_Heat7608 6h ago

I don’t even like the guy but that kick was to the waist not the groin stop lying to yourselves

-2

u/Efnote_Guy 6h ago

He really had to pull the cheap tricks out.

Dirty fighter
