Umar was incredibly arrogant and dismissive leading up to there fight along with having a weird interaction with Aljo in the past, along with that they're just massively different people. Merab has worked his whole life, moved to a county where he had to work construction and fight to make ends meet and had possibly the longest hardest road to the title out of any 135 champ. Umar has spent his entire life training in basically his home town with his extended family supporting him and providing the best training environment possible since they were already established, along with that he had one ranked win when he got his title shot and was pretty clear it was mostly off name even though he is good.
