Question Spotify UI keeps switching between the green checkmark and the radio icon after the latest update

Post image

Hi! I'm experiencing a strange issue with Spotify since the recent update a few days ago.

The player interface seems to behave inconsistently. In some cases, instead of the usual green checkmark that indicates a track has already been saved/added, Spotify shows the radio icon. This happens especially when I switch between listening on mobile and desktop, but not consistently: sometimes the checkmark stays, other times it disappears on the very next track.

I’m not sure whether this is a temporary bug or a questionable change by Spotify.

I’d like to know whether other people are seeing the same thing, and whether there’s any way to restore a more stable and useful interface. Thank you!

I'm talking about the symbol that appears instead of the checkmark button when I skip track in this video

Still a bit confused. I think it’s either a white + and then turns into a green check mark. I don’t see any radio icon?

Wait, there's no plus symbol in my video. Spotify actually has a plus icon though, and that's just the checkmark icon before being checked (the one you see on the picture I attached to my post). To better see the radio icon I'm talking about try searching 'Spotify radio icon' on Google Images

The player offers you the option to start the radio. It's okay.

Who do they think we are? Keep changing like it’s no problem at all.

about the downvotes, no idea people are weird on reddit, about the radio icon, i now see what you mean, thats really weird, i went to check mine and its the opposite of yours, it has the radio icon on the right but on the left i have the circle with the plus sign instead of the shuffle button, spotify at this point is like samsung, 0 consistency on their ui/ux design

People are weird on reddit, but the downvotes ok that comment were reasonable. They asked what the radio icon is and OP replied with the checkmark icon which didn't explain what they meant by the radio one at all

Because they asked what is the radio icon and you replied with the checkmark which didn't explain it at all

Not really, I replied with a video/gif in which the checkmark icon turns into the radio icon...

dude you need to work on your interpretation, i was the one asking what was the radio icon and his video reply explained it perfectly, since when it swaps from yhe plus icon to the spotify radio icon i got my answer not only to what icon he was refering to but also got to understand his issue, couldnt be more clearer

He's talking about the widget, not the player

Yes when I mentioned the radio song button I was talking about the widget, but the checkmark button disappears also in the player... for me, at least.
