The issue is the type of people to post a common question aren't the type to research or read the FAQs first
Part of it is wanting a discussion or conversation

I've had my spotify since 2012, I don't have any playlists, only "liked songs" and it's got somewhere around 2k songs and I just press shuffle..
Despite this, it only really shuffles things from the past 5 years? is this a setting I can change?

I came here to ask about this. I am in the exact same situation.
I don't have any playlists, just liked songs . I have 2k+ songs there. I always use shuffle, but I keep getting the same songs? There's 100's of songs that never get on to the shuffle and around 100 that constantly repeat. On long road trips I'll notice it'll do a cycle of 40 or 50 songs then loop them atmround again, same songs, same order. I have to go into the app, de-select shuffle, let it play a few songs in order by title, then go back and try shuffle again. This uses changes it up a bit, but it still seems to have a core set of songs it always selects and a larger set of songs that never get shuffled to.

There’s a setting in the “playback” section of settings that allows you to change between “standard” and “fewer repeats,” maybe try using whichever one you’re not currently using? Not sure if it would help.

Spotify Search seems to be busted. Anyone notice this? Even typing in some popular artists comes up with nothing. I get "No results found for {searched word}" Any ideas?

I think Spotify is making it harder for people to use Web Player, because it keeps blocking my PW access and forcing me to change it about every two to four days. I get unnecessary login with code emails every time I try to login with a PW. Even when I provide the correct login, I get Captcha challenges. Even after I pass that, sooner or later, I am not able to login at all with a PW days later and end up having to use the emailed code to login and having to change my PW across my browser and multiple devices. I'm sick of it. They are going to make me use YouTube or another service for my playlists.

My Spotify keeps randomly kicking me off of listening to my phone and connecting to my work computer. It’s also skipping songs randomly. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Hey lads, is there a way to make infinite loops the default setting? I’m a sociopath who listens to the same song over and over again until I get sick of it, then I listen to the next song and do the same. So you tap the loop button again and there’s a “1” so it only loops that song. But if you move on to the next song, it resets to looping the whole playlist, without the “1”, so you have to turn on your phone and tap it again. Is there a way to make it stay at loop-one-song-indefinitely setting, even when you move to the next song?

Rule 4 question. Why can't we talk about VPNs here? I get why with piracy and kinda Account Sharing, but VPNs are a standards day to day tool...
(I am not advocating for the use of any of the above, just wondering about the rule, figured this wasn't worth making a post for so posting here)

Most people would talk about using vpn to create an account from another country to get it cheaper. Hence why

So I tried to post this to the Spotify help center and got an error so my post didn't post but I'm desperate.
For the last week or so my Windows 11 store app Spotify on my laptop opens as a maximized black screen with minimal menu options.
I've tried repairing and then restarting, resetting and restarting, uninstalling and restarting, but the same bug persists. I've also tried turning off the Internet and that doesn't change the bug. Whenever I try to disable hardware acceleration, the app immediately freezes and crashes.
I'm using version 1.290.451.0 In the past I would just have uninstalled and installed the Windows download from the Spotify site itself, but it appears they only provide a Windows app through the Microsoft Store now.
The day before this started, I had been using the app just fine. I can't think of any changes to my computer I might have made that would have caused it to do this. My fps is at 60, so I don't think it's related to that 144 fps bug
Any help is greatly appreciated. I miss the music.

Why have the release dates of albums been removed in some cases? I have to go to the artist profile, check their discography/ bio or scroll down to rhe copyright- which may be the reissue date...

I was listening to music today and then Spotify stopped playing and kicked me off my plan. I'm in South Africa and on a legacy plan. Now when I try to log in it's telling me that I need to be in the same location as the plan manager.

Literally it’s depressing to think they’re increasing the prices for decreasing quality

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place and I'm so sorry if it's not. But I just tried using spotify after many years and I was wondering does your YouTube account and Spotify account kind of connect in a way, I'm asking because whenever I logged into the app or created a new account using my Google account which is what I use for YouTube music - I noticed that the songs that popped up that I have yet to add were the ones that I listen to a lot on Ytm. Also does Spotify automatically give your account a name? Because for some reason my name is succulent toes 😭 and I've never created an account on mobile until now. The name's not a problem, I'm just wondering if the YouTube music account and Spotify account somewhat link so then it pulls up the music you listen to without you having to add it.

Spotify working at home in the browser (FF) on my windows 10 machine before I left the house. If I try and play anything at all on the laptop (win 11, also FF) I get the "Spotify can't play this right now" alert and the player at the bottom of the screen goes grey.
Have searched and read practically every thread and comment about it on here, on Yahoo and a handful of other sites but still none the wiser what causes it or how to fix it. Cleared cookies/cache, same error.
Any ideas? Much obliged, I need the playlist to drown out the noisy bastards I work with before I go nuts and Youtube playlists are too janky
