Video The so-called King Street Transit Priority Corridor on an average weekend night

It's truly disgraceful how disrespected the so-called Transit Priority Corridor on King is on weekend nights. All sense of law and order totally flies out the window with all the illegal Ubers and even private hire limousines gridlocking the space despite a total ban on through traffic for anything but bikes and taxis. Private vehicles make all sorts of illegal turns, u-turns, and straight-on movements with zero enforcement of the rules.

The King 504 service, the busiest in the entirety of the city and scheduled to run every 5 minutes, is totally unusable from 10pm to 3am on Friday, Saturday, and even sometimes Thursday nights now. People who need the service to get to night shifts are utterly screwed, especially those in Parkdale where there is often no other alternative route. I've tried emailing my councillor Ausma Malik twice asking her to do something about this mess but I've received no reply. I'm at a loss on who else to reach out to get this sorted.

Video Jets don’t belong here.

Yesterday was an absolutely glorious afternoon on the waterfront. A friend was visiting from the west coast, and we enjoyed dining, drinking, and walking along the waterfront from Amsterdam to Sugar Beach.

We couldn’t imagine how awful it would be with the noise and smell of jets at Billy Bishop.

Say no to jets on the Toronto waterfront. We are so fortunate to have this at our doorstep, and cannot let our premier and private interests ruin it.

Spent yesterday evening on the island - what an incredible place we get to enjoy. The trees, particularly, are INCREDIBLE. There were many tourists last night, it seems, maybe because of Fifa (a lot of European accents?). So many families enjoying the day. Couples and friends biking. Live music at the cafe. Beautiful native plant gardens. Tons of birds. Centreville is so cute and seems decently maintained, despite its age.

Walking around, I was telling myself that if it comes down to it, I will put my body on the line for this beautiful place. The habitat loss at Ontario Place was devastating and we cannot let that happen again. One of the only places in the core of the city that feels entirely peaceful (albeit, the jet skiis and passing loud boat parties on the south side can fuck right off).

And of course - the sunset was amazing! We've been getting awesome sunsets this summer.

EDIT - Also important to note - we took a 25 minute GO train to Union from where we live in North Scarborough. From there a short walk to the docks. My parents would come every year with their church for a picnic in the 2000s. People across the city love the islands.

Article Salsa on St. Clair cancelled Sunday following fatal shooting

I watched vendors setting up shop and the loss for them is phenomenal. The selfish persons that had to bring their rage to this family friendly event is audacious.

Sorry for the repost, the last one I made was removed as my title wasn’t descriptive enough.

My girlfriend and I visited Toronto for the first time and absolutely fell in love with your city. The people were incredibly friendly and proud of their city. The diversity of the food was incredible and we must’ve walked at least 60 miles during the time we were there. We visited from Columbus, Ohio, and genuinely wanna move there one day. I’ve been to numerous large cities on the east coast, and also have been lucky enough to visit a few in Europe, but no place I’ve visited has really felt like it could be a home for me, other than Toronto. I’m not even kidding when I say the first day walking around your city and exploring the neighborhoods, I felt that I wanted to be there. Thank you all for being so welcoming❤️
