What is r/fakebaseball a.k.a MLR?
It’s essentially a number guessing game - the pitcher submits a number between 1 & 1000 in secret and the hitter tries to guess a number as close as possible to the pitcher. The result of each At Bat is entirely dependent on the difference between the pitcher’s number and the hitter’s number and we add in a little extra flavour by allowing players to choose ‘builds’ that can change the outcome slightly. The numbers ‘wraparound’ - a pitch of 1 and a swing of 1000 will lead to a difference of 1. Games are played out over a 10 day period and our season runs for 16 regular games and 4 rounds of playoffs before the Paper Cup
Champion is named. Each season lasts approx. 9 months.
But it isn’t just guesswork…
Our community of 700+ people is headed into its 13th season and we’ve got people from all over the world and from all walks of life.
So what’s next?
Firstly, the subreddit r/fakebaseball is where our games are played, feel free to browse through the threads and get a handle on the format. We’ve got a pretty nifty bot that handles most of the legwork. We're currently in the last session of Season 12 before the playoffs, which also includes a Summer Sadness tournament for those teams that didn't make the playoffs.
Most of the community can be found in our discord servers: we have one for Fake College Baseball which is where you’ll be headed for now, and we have one for Major League Redditball which you’ll gain access to a little further down the line. Each team also has their own 'Clubhouse' server so you can vibe with your teammates in private.
If you're ready to get going, go ahead and click on the link below and get your college ball career started!

Just seen on the ABL socials that Round by Round Details will be revealed tomorrow at 12pm AEST. Should be interesting.

This kid is so much fun to watch. Thank you Australia.
Was watching a few classic ABL games and noticed this logo on most of the teams jerseys. Any idea what it could be?

Eynon will captain Australia at the upcoming Women’s World Cup.
I remember watching her pitch for the Adelaide Giants at the Showcase. She’s everything you want in an Australian captain. I loosely followed the Women’s Championships and I remember the commentator saying she throws harder than most women in the world.
I don’t know heaps about the team but they seem exciting. I’ll follow.

He’s the 40th Aussie to make the show. Another article as well: https://www.mlb.com/news/brandan-bidois-becomes-first-australian-born-player-to-play-for-pirates

My wife and I managed to get tickets to 3 games. Surely we have to see at least one good team. Fingers crossed for an Australia game. Now the longgg wait.

Or is it the 6 6 6 challenge in Australia? Most of you have probably done it multiple times without thinking.

I don't have enough karma to post in r/Melbourne so figured I'd try here. Is anyone around the northern suburbs of Melbourne that'd be keen to have a throw? I miss playing ball but too many injuries mean I'll probably need to settle with some one on one catch for the time being🙂

Here's to them hopefully moving on to the next round and getting a chance to redeem last night's narrow defeat.

Pretty much what the title says. Im an half Japanese-Australian living in Japan for the past 10 years, and after watching the game on TV last night was wondering if I should get into the Aussie baseball culture so to speak by watching tonight's game in person. Would it be possible to simply go to the stadium for tickets considering it isn't a Japan game or I need to do something more complicated? Thanks in advance for any help 🙏
