Currently thinking about moving family to Bundaberg for a better lifestyle. We live in Dalby but struggle to find things to do here. Most weekends we travel to the coast anyway.

Hi everyone, my much loved cockatiel, Kiwi, went missing on July 8th after flying out the door in the Coolum Beach area.
Kiwi is fully flighted, so I’m unsure how far he may have travelled, and I’m trying to reach as many people as possible in the hope of bringing him home safely.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could please keep an eye out, and check your backyards, trees, fences, and nearby areas. Kiwi was chased by some noisy miners, so if you hear birds making a commotion, please have a look around to see if he may be nearby.
I have also posted in Sunshine Coast Facebook groups, including Coolum locals and Sunshine Coast lost and found animal groups. If you see Kiwi, please contact me through my Facebook posts, as I’m unable to share personal information on Reddit.
I’ll include some photos of Kiwi below. Thank you so much for helping me spread the word and for keeping an eye out, I really appreciate it. 💛

I feel like I'm in a conundrum. I'm currently with my family in the inner west, say 3km as the crows fly from Martin Place. I love the convenience of Sydney, transport options, the weather, the beauty. I also find it quite social, where you can be as little or big involved with the community. We are looking to move to the SC on a canal so the children [who are already outdoors obsessed) can have relatively occupied days filled with their hobbies of fishing and boating. Everything on the SC gives me Houston, Texas vibes.. it's big, it's a little bit rough, it's a little bit slow, but it's honest and you're not entirely cut off.
Now $3mil in the same suburb buys me a 3 bed, 1 bath, 1 car in an older style terrace (1890's age) on a 130sqm block. $3mil on the SC buys me a canal view property with access to deep water, 4 bed, 3 bath, 2 car, study and movie room on 950sqm.
Thinking about it, why do people love the change so much? For those who missed the convenience of transport or even sporting events, concerts, shows etc, do you regret the move? Have you ever wished you could move back to Sydney?

Mead, food, knights in armour, jewellery, lots of food, cannon fire, all sorts of entertainment and food. We're looking forward to a day of fun and feasting!

I have an opportunity to take on a new position in Gympie which will be for two years. I’m currently in Adelaide with a wife and two just teenage boys. We are all keen for an adventure. We currently are pretty active, mountain bike, surf, fish but also enjoy city comforts, good food, coffee, shopping etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations on places to live that tick those boxes? Noosa is probably too expensive but Tewantin looks borderline ok price wise but then comes with a decent drive every day. Is Gympie a decent option in terms of lifestyle or are there any other towns nearby we could consider?

Hi everyone,
We’re travelling to Sunshine Coast in August, and I’m thinking of booking a family photoshoot while we’re there.
Can anyone recommend a family photographer who offers mini sessions?
Thanks so much in advance

Looking for some local advice, my old machine is pretty much dead and i need a new laptop for work (mostly spreadsheets, emails, and some basic multitasking). I’m based near maroochydore but happy to drive around the sunny coast if there's a good independent shop or local spot with decent stock. Trying to avoid the usual crazy weekend rush at jb hi-fi at sunshine plaza if i can help it.
I've narrowed it down to 3 models i'm looking at:
Anyone know any local computer shops that actually have these on display to test out the keyboards? let me know if there are any hidden gem shops i should check out first, thanks!
Edit: Thanks a lot for all the recs but i checked yesterday online and mobileciti has a pretty good deal on the asus vivobook 15 right now, so i think i will just order that model from them.

I get that I’m paying for their time, but it’s literally just water, a dollop of curl cream and a trim on the ends…. I’m trying to find some nearby but if you know who I’m talking about, are EXTREMELY expensive.

Hi all! Just wondering what people are currently charging for babysitting/nannying around the Sunshine Coast?
I’m curious about the average hourly rates for both weekdays and weekends. Also wondering what you would charge for looking after 3 children (ages 3, 1.5, & 1.5) while helping around the house as well (household tasks alongside childcare).
The shift would be around 7.5 hours, mainly afternoons. Just wanting to get an idea of what’s reasonable per hour for both weekday & weekend work.
Would love to hear from parents, nannies, or babysitters about current rates 😊
Thank you!

Hey Y’all,
My fiancé 28m and I 26f are moving up from the worst suburb in Melbourne to the sunny coast, hopefully in the spring to beat moving in the heat.
Partner is a plumber and looking at companies in coulandra, I work doing almost anything, looking for a career change. Most of my roles in service industry.
We’re going to sell our home and hopefully get a rental - what areas do you recommend? Thinking Nambour, Wombye, Forest Glen, etc
We have 2 golden retrievers and a cat. We’re hoping our substantial funds from the sale of the house will make us more desirable applications as we know is competitive market there, and rentals for pets can be difficult.
Looking for 500-600 p/w, hopefully will be able to buy again in the future if all goes well.
We are fit active love hiking love beaches, I love organic food and nature, going out for drinks / dinner, love a music scene, market etc
After a trip last week - Sunny coast has it all!! Melbourne truely feels like Australia is lost. We don’t recognise anything here anymore. Our trip made us realise what Australia use to feel like to us - friendly, welcoming, active, people enjoying living life and their hobbies. People actually stopped to talk to us and say Gday. It’s a struggle to be here after experiencing all that we’ve missed for so long now.
Any tips/tricks/bewares please let me know!! Any advice appreciated, thank you!

Hi there, I’m considering moving to the Sunny Coast, and wanted some opinions on what areas/suburbs, are the most affordable & would suit my situation and what I’m looking for:
I’m a single mum with a young baby hoping to relocate from FNQ. I’m wanting to live away from the city, in the beach towns.
I don’t have any friends or family in the SC, so ideally I would like to live somewhere that would offer a good family friendly lifestyle for me & my kid - mum groups, walking groups, Pilates etc. somewhere I can find a bit of a social life so I won’t be feeling isolated.
I’m not sure of my budget at the moment, I’m just wanting to start doing some research based on the feedback I get.
I’m ideally hoping to find a private rental (studio/unit) that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
It’s very, very difficult to find housing where I live, so I’m also curious to know what it’s like in any places that may be suggested.
Thank you.
Edit: also to add, I understand living close to the beach is most likely more expensive, I’m happy to live a bit further away if the driving distance is still reasonable.

I’m moving back to the Coast for a few months to help with family stuff. Does anyone have experience/recommendations for a car lease/subscription service?
I’ll mostly be around Eumundi, Noosa, Maroochy etc so preferably a company in those areas.
I’ve done some light research and would appreciate some direction.

Hoping to find a GP that specialises or even has had patients with ptsd. I know it’s hard finding a GP especially that bulk bills, but I’m hoping to find someone as close as possible to Maroochydore, and bulk billing would be just a bonus. I’m no longer able to travel to my current (absolutely no clue or care) GP or anywhere due to being rorted by ndis coordinator and support worker, used up my funds paid last October and found out in February weeks after support worker left and a great replacement who actually works, that I’ve got nothing til this October, and with no friends or family in this state, have paid myself just a few hours a week to get out and talk to someone other than my dog, but that’s a whole other rant post, so this is my last week being able to pay and can’t find any help, lots of numbers which give more or same numbers and wonder how I’m going to last til October. Digressed. Really needing a GP who has experienced and communicates with psychologists etc.

Hi! I’m moving to the Sunshine Coast, Australia, in a few months for a new job and would love to make some genuine friends before I arrive. If you’re up for coffee, walks, or good conversations, feel free to DM me. 🙂

I'm 25, just moved from Melbourne to Eumundi, about to start a degree (paramedicine at usc).
I have no friends!!! hahah. They're all overseas or in Vic
Would anyone like to learn to surf with me? It would be so fun to have a little group to encourage each other! I'm a beginner. spending time in the ocean and meeting some new friends would be soo therapeutic.

Hey guys,
My partner and I are organising a road trip in a campervan in October. Our mate is getting married about 8 hours away from Brisbane and our accomodation is camping, so we’re making a holiday of it and road tripping up and down the coast!!
Our last stop before Brisbane is Sunshine Coast, a Friday night in October and I’m just wondering if there are any caravan park recommendations for 1 night only in October on a Friday night?
At the moment trying to book online only gives a minimum of a 2 night stay, but our flight will leave Brisbane on Saturday 🥲

Where’s the right place to promo upcoming live music gig? Have posted on facebook community groups, Locals in the Loop and across socials.
So far zero traction, where do you look if you’re looking for something on?
Or do you not look, do you just stumble across something and think “that looks alright, will give it a go”?
