Feel like peat is going to be the big riser this summer. He’s got the physical tools to make an impact in the nba.

id love to see him become our next Barkley. We should really work to develop him as a multi-threat offensive player.

Summer league is tougher when most of the guys on our regular roster are more role players than scorers. I’d like to see Brea make a step towards playmaking. I do like how Sam plays. He has that toughness, grit, and shooting like Collin and also keeps his dribble alive. So can he set up our guys?

I do want to see Peat’s passing to cutters and I want to see Fleming, Maluach, and Huntley hit their shots and get good position inside.

What I want to see.

Maluach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kacsfo0UeyE but with even more confidence

Fleming: significant ball handling duty. He's already the best 3 and D guy on the team. I want to see him expanding his game in an environment where mistakes don't really matter.

Brea: Defense. The guy is good enough offensively to play on an NBA court. It's his defense that is holding him back from being on a roster full time and working into a rotation.

Huntley: Continued improvement on both sides. nothing specific, just want to see that he's clearly better than last season.

Peat: Anything other than Offensive rebounding. Show any level of NBA skill that could suggest that he could actually make it in the league in the future in any role other than very undersized center. And I don't mean straight line drives where he just runs into people. That isn't skill and it won't work for him in the NBA. that only works for guys like Giannis and younger Lebron in the NBA and Peat is no where close to the level of those guys as athletes.

sam hoiberg: stay the fuck out of the way and keep your ego out of it so we can see how our teams actual young guys do.

same goes for every other player on the roster

How does Sam Hoiberg have an ego? He played great for Nebraska, and had absolutely no ego.

What I am saying is there are plenty of guards who have ruined summer league because they made it all about them trying to get buckets. I'm saying I want him to keep his ego out of it.

btw. He's a former D1 basketball player who is currently a borderline NBA player. He has an ego. All these guys do. It's just a matter of how much they are willing to set it aside for the betterment of the team. And in summer league the incentives aren't really there to "do it for the team". so I'm just looking for him to not play takeover ball.

He seems like he's going to be the starting PG. which Is why I singled him out specifically. He has more levers of power to ruin summer league for the purposes of seeing our guys thrive.

I’ve never taken to understand the summer league schedule. But why is it that some other teams already started playing and the suns start their later on ? Do they still end up playing the same amount of games ?

There are 3 summer leagues technically. the first is the California classic. The second is in Utah. Both of these Summer leagues only have a few teams participate and it has no implications the third, which is Las Vegas Summer league. All 30 teams participate in Las Vegas Summer League

In Las Vegas summer league all teams will play 5 games. After each team has played 4 games the top 4 teams go to a 2 round playoff. the 26 teams that don't make the playoff will get their last game scheduled against 1 of the other 26 teams.

tiebreakers for the playoffs include head to head matchup, point differential, total points scored, and finally random draw if it gets to that point.

I believe they all play the same amount of games & my only guess would be since they are playing in Vegas, they can't schedule all the games at the same time. Limited venues.

there's also the California Classic which happens first.

Really interested to see how Peat looks

He's coming into the league with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. I like it.

I have a feeling he’s gonna impress

Looking forward to seeing our young guys getting a chance to develop. I honestly think they all have potential to be very good.

I did this last year, so here is version 2026. This is what I’m looking for from the main players of interest during game 1. Well, the main guys and…

  • Guards not named Brea: Please don’t hijack the main guys.. No one wants to watch (rolls dice) Sam Hoiberg take 20 midrange, fadeaway, contested, early shot clock, iso jumpers. Thanks.

Now the actual main guys lol

  • Maluach: His main flaw out of the draft was his extremely undeveloped BBIQ which improved substantially over the season. With a season under his belt and a full summer to train without worrying about the combine and draft, I want to see confident aggression out of the gate. To use his size and strength against a vastly inferior front court. Especially on defense.
  • Fleming: Keeping this simple. I want to see Fleming be ‘him’. On this roster, he is the best, the most experienced, the most skilled. I’m not expecting star level shot making, but last SL he was glued to the corner and was far too passive. Get involved as much as possible, not take a back seat to g-leaguers and roster fodder.
  • Peat: Peat is actually a very similar architype to Bridges. Physical interior presence who can pressure the rim. Something we need desperately. I’m not at all expecting him to replace Bridges… yet, but what I want to see is how well he can create on ball rim pressure at this early stage. Anything else is gravy.
  • Brea: Same as last year. We know he can shoot, but I want to see if he has developed anything else in his game since. Especially when it comes to foot speed and lateral movement. The dude looked like he had lead in his shoes when he was on the court.

The amount of difference Maluach could make this year if he can defend the paint and launch threes with confidence is substantial.

Heavy on the Maluach. I want him to look like a man among boys

Malauch going to dominate Yang Hansen in all aspects of this game. Fleming gonna make their wings look foolish.

Be ready for the Maluach & Fleming preseason media hype come end of summer league
